The Truth Left To Bleed

Summary:

Chuuya sighed. “Come in!” He shouted.
Whoever was on the other side obeyed as the door slowly opened, revealing Akutagawa, Dazai's new mentee.

“Hey kid. What did ya need?” He asked, watching the kid squirm a bit before talking.

“Dazai-san is in trouble.” Was all the kid said before Chuuya stood up, his chair screeching as he pushed it. His hands slammed down to his desk.

“Where is he?”

or; dazai isn't having a fun time.

Chapter 1: The Truth.

Chapter Text

Chuuya grumbled as he walked into the headquarters, it was a relatively hot morning, and he was still upset over Dazai ditching him last weekend, damnit! After he took the time out of his own damn day! He left, like that!
He swung the door open to his office, slamming it shut before sitting down and picking up a form, prepared to start his day before he heard a light knock at his door.

\Chuuya sighed. “Come in!” He shouted.
Whoever was on the other side obeyed as the door slowly opened, revealing Akutagawa, Dazai's new mentee.

“Hey kid. What did ya need?” He asked, watching the kid squirm a bit before talking.
“Dazai-san is in trouble.” Was all that was said before Chuuya stood up, his chair screeching as he pushed it. His hands slammed down to his desk.

“Where is he?”

As he walked down the dingy hallway, Chuuya wondered why Dazai had been in trouble in the torture room, he highly doubt some rascal was able to get a hit on the brunette, so how?
As he opened the door, his eyes met a grim sight.

“Dazai! Damnit!” He shouted. His eyes widening in worry as he took in the view before rushing to his side, picking the injured brunette up gently.

There was so much blood. Bite wounds were everywhere, and the cuts on him were extensive. Chuuya didn't have to have Dazai's wits to make an educated guess on what had happened. He knew the boss could be harsh, but this? He never knew Dazai had gone through this. Was this why he left early? Did Mori demand repentance?

Chuuya scowled as he carried him out of the building, reaching the lobby before being interrupted by Kouyou.

His eyes met hers and she could sense his distress. Her lips pursed, grimacing at the sight of Dazai injured. She knew what was happening, she should have stopped it. She felt sorry for him. She wasn't strong enough to save him.
“Come with me, we need to get him treated.”

Kouyou whispered. Chuuya shook his head, “I'm not taking him to Mori!” he seethed.
“I'm not saying that. Mori is currently at a meeting, we can use the clinic.” She explained before walking off.

Chuuya hesitantly followed her, zoning in on the clicking of her heels as his thoughts ran through his head.

How long has this been going on? How long has Dazai been hurting behind his back? He was not a worthy partner if this is the kind of shit he dealt with weekly and Chuuya had not noticed. Chuuya had not noticed. Chuuya spent almost every day with the brunette damnit!

He had to focus on his self loathing later though, as they entered the clinic, laying Dazai down. He looked worse for the wear. Chuuya frowned.

“Here, I'm going to start disinfecting this arm and stitching up the bad bites and wounds.” Kouyou said, before she sat down, she dragged a warm towel against the blood crusted skin, loosening up the clots and disinfecting the area. It looked- awful.
Dazai slowly blinked his eyes open, immediately feeling the pain as his wounds started bleeding again, he sprung up, ready to run but before he could, Chuuya had him held down.
“Damnit, stay still! Your injuries are bad!” Chuuya demanded.

“No. Get off me. I've been through this before I can do this myself!” He hissed.

“For fucks sake Dazai you are 30 seconds from bleeding out, just listen!”

Before Dazai could argue back, he slumped back, passing out again.

“Shit! Ane-san, hurry!” Chuuya screamed, the worry in his voice not masked.

“This can't be rushed! I just need to stitch up his wounds, keep him down.” She asked, grabbing what she needed before getting back, deciding to go from shoulder down.

It had taken 2 hours to fully clean and treat the brunette's wounds. After 2 hours of holding down Dazai, Chuuya never wanted to deal with that again. Listening to the brunette's whimpers of pain when he regained consciousness a few times was awful.

Chuuya needed to figure out a way to keep Mori away from his partner, and Chuuya was not against murder.

Once Kouyou excused herself, having to get on top of her work, as this had put her quite behind, Chuuya turned to the now mostly lucid Dazai.
“How long?” He asked, more like demanded to know. “How long what?”
“Don’t play dumb, Dazai! Damnit- is this why you left without a word last weekend?” Chuuya asked again, scanning the brunette's face for any type of answer, to no avail.

Dazai looked away, facing the tiled floor, not wanting to see Chuuyas expression.
‘If only I wasn’t so weak.’

“Dazai. Your silence right now is all the answer I need.”
Chuuya didn’t need Dazais verbal answer, he knew, he knew realistically, that Mori had been doing this for a while. Dazai mentioned being in Mori’s care since his partner was 14. Two years already of horrific abuse..! Chuuya was sickened. He decided that his partner would hurt no more, at least if he had anything to say about it.

“Let's run.” Chuuya offered, quickly taken aback by the laughter he had got in response, the laughter twisting into an awful feeling into his gut.

“Run?” Dazai was able to say, after his laughing fit.
“Run?” “From Mori?” He said, barely keeping a straight face.
“You are hilarious. No one can run from Mori.” Dazai said, a small sad smile on his face, he stared at his hands that he had folded into his lap. Running from Mori would only cause more pain. The doctor was cunning, he would never be truthfully able to escape from the cold clutches of his cruel abusers hands.

“Don’t say that. We can try, I can’t watch you suffer like this!” Chuuya persisted.

Dazais face of acceptance had grown into one of annoyance at the gingers persistence.

“Don’t be stupid.” He snapped.
“If he heard us even talking about betraying him the punishment would be severe! Don’t you understand, Chuuya?” Dazai asked.

“Even if we were able to run, he would find us. He has eyes everywhere, and the punishment would be worse than any of this. He would find a way to break us, to shape us further, into mere tools. I may be broken, but you aren’t yet. I won’t let him. So don’t talk about things you know nothing about.” He said, the words shattering Chuuyas vision.

The boy dejectedly gripped his hands into fists, placing them at his side as his teeth clashed together. Chuuya would find a way to save his partner.

Even if it cost him everything.
