That moment, burned into Dick’s mind echoed now, louder than the cavern, louder than his own pounding heartbeat.
Because here they were again. Different place, same fear. Dick’s hands, bigger now but just as desperate, were shaking over the wound. His voice broke the same way it had back then, as if no years had passed at all.
