You're Different

Notes:

since it's October thought it would be the perfect excuse to make my own fanfic. Also I wanted to make this b/c most fics have y/n either too loud or too nervous...

(Sorry if there is any mistakes. I'm not great at grammar in English)

Saiki’s POV

I keep thinking that everyday would be a normal day, and everyday I’m wrong.

I sat at my desk in school waiting until the teacher started class for the day. I already went through the routine of Kaidou and Nendou bothering me in the morning. You know, them talking nonsense, standing around my desk, while I don’t say anything until they leave.

So I sit here looking out the window to my left. There was no one sitting at the desk next to the window so I was glad I was able to see outside properly.

The teacher came into the class and spoke. “Okay class please take your seats.” Once everyone sat down she continued. “Today we have a new transfer student. Please make them feel welcomed.”

Another transfer student? We’re almost halfway through the school year. Why would they transfer?

Everyone else was talking amongst themselves about the new transfer.

“I hope it's a girl. I really need a girlfriend.”

“I wonder how they’ll look!”

“I hope they’re a boy! That way I can have another gym bro!”

That last one was from Hairo.

After a while the teacher settled down the class and called the transfer over, into the classroom. It was a girl. She walked into class and stood in front of the room. “Everyone this is l/n y/n. Please be welcoming to her.” the teacher announced. l/n bows down. “Hello.” She said to the class and then stood up.

I was a bit shocked, since I could actually see her. My x-ray vision was always in the way, so seeing her with her clothes on was new to me. Not in a perverted way. Don’t get any ideas now.

“l/n, you can sit next to Saiki. The boy with pink hair. There’s an empty seat for you.” The teacher points right next to the seat next to me. To my left. Just my luck, I really do hope she isn’t much of a talker. She walked up and sat in her seat, setting her bag down next to her.

Oh no. As soon as she sat down I expected to hear her thoughts being added upon the hundreds of others I hear 24/7. But I didn’t. I worried a bit, since I could hear everyone’s thoughts but her’s. I turned to look at her. She didn’t seem to be the type to be dumb like Nendou.

It bothered me a bit, but I ignored her afterwards.

It was lunch time, which meant Kaidou, Nendou, Kuboyasu, and some others were going to be bothering me the whole time. I put my things away and stood up. Kaidou was the first to reach me.

“Hey Saiki!” He said. “So what do you think about the new transfer student? She seems okay. Although I did kinda wish she had bigger you know what.” He smirks at the thought of it. Don’t be like Toritsuka.

Then Nendou came by and stood next to Kaidou, in front of me. “What’s up guys!” He waved to the both of us. “So what’d you think about the new transfer student? I thought they were okay. Could've been more interesting though…” He said rather loud, good thing she wasn’t in the classroom.

“We were just talking about them, Nendou.” Kaidou said. “Maybe they’re only boring to try to hide the fact that they're from Dark Reunion!” He placed his left hand on his eye, like he always does when acting out his fantasy.

“I really don’t think someone like her can be from Dark Reunion.” Kuboyasu entered the classroom and came up to us. “Hey, there you guys are. Are you ready to go get lunch?” He asked us. “Kuboyasu! What do you think about the new transfer student?” Kaidou said.

Great, now he has Kuboyasu talking about her as well. Honestly, why can’t they just leave her alone already? “Oh, the transfer student? You mean l/n? Yeah she’s alright… I think.” He replied back to Kaidou.

I decided to leave those three and head to lunch. I couldn’t care less about l/n. Honestly I thought it was pretty clear she was a boring person. Nothing special going on with her.

At lunch I sat with Kaidou, Nendou, Kuboyasu, and Chiyo as well. Of course she only sat with us to be with Kaidou. I ate my lunch quietly as the rest of the group talked. “What about you Saiki?” Nendou asked me.

I looked up from my plate. “What?” I asked. “What do you think about l/n?” Kuboyasu asked me this time.

Are we seriously still on this topic? Everyone stared at me, waiting for my reply. So I just shrugged my shoulders and went back to eating. “Seriously? You have nothing to say?” Kaidou asked. “Well I guess there isn’t much to say about her.” Kaidou said. “Yeah you are right. She does seem like an ordinary person.” Chiyo joined in.

Ordinary. The one thing I want to be. No matter what I do or try I never seem to be ordinary. Everyday my life is a disaster.

The conversation moved on to something else after that. Then Toritsuka came up to me, and because I was sitting at the edge of the table he stood next to me. “Saiki! Please tell me about the new transfer student I heard about! That was certainly fast. Thought it would take him longer to find out. Then again, the student is a girl.

“Don’t bother. She’s not interesting anyway.” I told him, hoping he could go away and leave me to my lunch. “Oh really? You’re just saying that so you can have her all to yourself!” He complained.

“Nope. Don’t want her either. Now go away.” I told him. I tried ignoring him but it was hard considering he was hovering over me. “Okay fine. She’s right there.” I took a look around the room and pointed towards her. Which didn’t take long since she was the only person I could see. “Her name is l/n y/n. Now go away.”

“Oh…” Toritsuka said. All his excitement he had before just disappeared as soon as he saw her. “I told you.”

“Well, Um… I gotta go now. Thanks a lot Saiki…” He laughed nervously before dashing off somewhere. Finally I can enjoy my lunch in peace.

After lunch I went straight to class. I sat in my seat, bored out of my mind since the subject we were learning was easy to understand, so I just went ahead and finished all my work for that day. I turned my head to look outside but was interrupted by l/n. I almost forgot she sat next to me.

She was the first person I ever saw normal. I looked at her features. The shape of her face, the color of her skin. I saw her writing in her notebook. Seemed like she was struggling a bit since her face showed a bit of frustration. I looked in my notes. I guess for a normal person this stuff would be a little hard to grasp.

After school ended, I began to pack my things. Kaidou and Nendou seemed to have other plans because instead of coming up to me to get some ramen they just said their goodbyes and left. I never thought this day would come. Maybe I can finally head home in peace.

As I put the last of my things in my bag I watched as l/n was walking out the door. I saw Teruhashi walking in her direction and hoped she would just leave her alone. And she did. Teruhashi continued to walk past l/n.

I continued to watch as l/n walked out of the room and out of my sight. But now I have a bigger problem. Teruhashi was with me. “Hi Saiki!” She said to me while waving. “I was wondering if-” I cut her off. “Sorry I'm really busy right now. Can’t talk.”

I quickly walked away from her and left the room. Once I put on my shoes I walked outside towards my house. When I turned a corner to my house I saw l/n walking a few feet in front of me. Does she live around here?

l/n stopped and turned towards a house and walked inside. That must be where she lives. I continued to walk until I realized we were only a few houses apart. I walked into my house and took off my shoes. “Oh kuu! You’re home! How was school?” My mom called out to me from the kitchen.

“It was fine. But we had a new transfer student in class today.” I walked over to my mom. “Oh really? Well maybe it's the same student that lives around our block!”

“You know about them?” I asked. “Of course! I met their parents this morning when I went out to get some groceries! I’m making some welcoming cake for them! You should come with me to meet them! Who knows, maybe you’ll become good friends!”

“Yeah , no thank you. I’ll be in my room.” Then mom just had to make her angry face. “You’re. Coming.” She commanded. I couldn’t say no to her now.

Well. Guess I’ll be meeting the ordinary transfer student.
