Chapter Text
As another Monday arrives, Kaido wakes up extra early and eagerly checks under his pillow. "Oh boy oh boy, I can't wait to see what Chainsaw Man leaks are under my pillow this week!!!" He exclaims, fishing under his pillow and eventually pulling out a small slip of white paper, neatly folded in half. Before he opens it, a wave of guilt washes over him. "These leaks are probably the work of Dark Reunion... should I really be reading them..?" He questions, sighing and opening the slip of paper anyway. He goes through this dilemma every week, and he always ends up reading it regardless.
"Let's see... WHAT!? YOSHIДА AND DENNIS KISS!?" Kaido slaps a hand over his mouth in shock, "T-there's no way... I have to tell Saiki about this!!!"
Saiki doesn't really care about Chainsaw Man, but Kaido caught him checking it out one time and hasn't left him alone since. Skipping breakfast, Kaido sprints out of his house 15 minutes early to provide Saiki with this amazing news. Of course, Saiki knew he'd do this, and thought his leaks were total bullshit. Saiki enters class right as the bell rang, giving Kaido no time to share the information with him. Throughout the day, he avoids Kaido as well, leaving as soon as the last bell rang too. Kaido's mission to give Saiki the leaks proves futile, and he makes a mental goal to try again next week.
---
Another Monday rolls by, and Kaido excitedly reaches under his pillow, pulling out the usual slip of paper. A confused frown takes over his face, though, as the typical, neatly folded white paper was green and sloppily folded. "This is weird..." Kaido mutters, "Is this a trick by the Dark Reunion..?" Cautiously, he opens the slip of paper:
"Deku and Bakugo win the war and make BakuDeku slime"
...
.......
............
Kaido rereads the paper a few times, confused. Deku and Bakugo? "Who is they...?" He wonders out loud. "Are these some new Chainsaw Man characters that will be coming?" He blinks a few times, trying to make sense of it, before realization suddenly strikes him.
"Wait, Deku and Bakugo? Aren't they from My Hero Academia!?" He says outloud, shocked. Wanting to make sure he was right, he quickly grabs his phone off his nightstand and types their names in, sure enough, they were from My Hero Academia.
Kaido can't believe his eyes. My Hero Academia? "I. HATE. MY HERO ACADEMIA. THIS HAS TO BE WORK OF THE DARK REUNION FOR SURE!!! WHERE ARE MY CHAINSAW MAN LEAKS!?!?!?" He yells angrily, ripping up the green slip of paper and running to the bathroom. He throws the scraps in the toilet, flushing it. He'd never admit this, but the reason he hates My Hero Academia is he's secretly really jealous of all the students with real superpowers, and he can't bring himself to watch it due to pure envy. "I can't believe Dark Reunion would go this far. I need... I need Saiki's help... to take them down once and for all!!!"
With this new goal in mind, Kaido quickly gets ready for school, faster than he's ever had before, and he bolts out the house again. Thinking Saiki wouldn't have left the house this early, he makes his way over there as fast as he can (which wasn't very fast but he makes it). Once he got to Saiki's, he starts knocking on the door rapidly, hoping Saiki was still home.
Hearing Kaido's loud knocks from his room, Saiki groans. "I'll just pretend I'm not home" he thinks to himself, "He'll leave eventually". Unfortunately, his mom was home, and she wasn't one to ignore the door. Saiki hears his mom open the door downstairs, and he debates just teleporting away, but eventually decides there's no avoiding it.
"Ahh!!! Ku!!! Your friends here!!! Come say hi~!!!" Saiki's mom calls from downstairs. Saiki sighs, standing up and making his way downstairs, unamused. Seeing Saiki come down, Kaido rushes in and to Saiki. "Saiki, you have to listen to me! Dark Reunions gone too far this time! You have to help me take them down!!!" He exclaims, a little out of breath from running (? does it count as running he doesn't go very fast) to his house. Saiki's mom decides it's probably better if she doesn't ask, and she leaves them to it. Saiki groans again, both from his mom abandoning him with Kaido and Kaido's crazy words. "Yare yare, what are you even talking about Kaido?" He says, uninterested. Kaido glances around the room, with a worried expression on his face, "We... we can't talk here! Dark Reunion may be listening..." He returns his attention back to Saiki. "We'll talk on the way to school... I'll wait for you here." Saiki looks at him, narrowing his eyes. Without replying, he goes back upstairs, and returns a few minutes later in his school uniform and school bag in hand.
The two of them leave Saiki's house, and Kaido begins whispering to Saiki the whole situation. "Okay, Saiki, you have to hear me out, okay? For the past few months I've been getting these pieces of paper under my pillow every Monday, and they have a leak for the new Chainsaw Man chapter." Saiki doesn't respond, not believing the story but waiting for him to finish. Kaido continues, "I... I know I shouldn't be reading them... since they're probably the work of the Dark Reunion but... I can't help it!!! I love Chainsaw Man!!!" He says, shaking his head, before glancing back to Saiki. "Okay, so basically, the problem is, today, instead of getting Chainsaw Man leaks... I got this weird green piece of paper and- you wouldn't believe it- they had My Hero Academia leaks on them instead!!! Why... why would the Dark Reunion do this? They... built my trust with all these Chainsaw Man leaks just to betray me. It's... it's my mistake for ever trusting something from the Dark Reunion... But, this showed me... I need to take them down!!! Us psychics need to use our powers to defeat them, so they don't betray anyone like this again!" Kaido says, trying to seem tough but really on the verge of tears.
Saiki's quiet, thinking, "Wow. He's actually not lying, someone is placing leaks under his pillow." He thinks to himself, reading Kaido's mind. "But, I still don't wanna help him." He decides, not wanting to put effort in something stupid. "Yare yare," he shakes his head, "What are you talking about Kaido?" He says, feigning disbelief. Kaido's eyes widen in surprise, "No- Saiki, you gotta believe me!" He says, frantically. At this point, they have reached the school, and Saiki gives him a confused glance before walking off away from him to his shoe locker, and then to class.
The two of them didn't speak much the rest of the day or the week, Kaido being embarrassed to talk to him after telling him his problem and Saiki making no effort to start a conversation. Eventually, Sunday night rolls around, and Saiki lays in bed, contemplating. "Kaido wasn't lying on Monday," he thinks to himself, "Maybe I should check in on him. Someone's actually going into his room at night... this could be bad." With this, he decides he will pop into Kaido's room.
At around midnight, Saiki gets up from his bed, quickly teleporting to Kaido's room in a dark corner. He first notices Kaido sleeping, and right above Kaido, he sees a strange person, a man seeming to be in his 30s with black hair and glasses. He has a strange outfit, a white t-shirt with a dog colored orange, with a Santa style jacket and similar pants. He has on a Santa hat on as well, and weirdly enough, fairy wings on his back.
Saiki's pretty surprised, which doesn't happen often. The strange man doesn't see Saiki, continuing to place a small piece of paper under Kaido's pillow, on which he's sleeping peacefully, unaware. Saiki watches silently as he does so, and as he eventually pulls away and turns to leave.
Once he turns around, he makes eye contact with Saiki, with wide eyes. Saiki's eyes slightly widen as well, and he instinctively reaches a hand out to use his psychic powers. The strange man is faster, reaching out what seemed to be a pink wand with a heart on the end before everything suddenly went dark.
