Chapter Text
S sat in front of the entrance to her pod, looking out at the moonlit snow. The beauty of what she saw was not lost on her. She smiled warmly out at her home. This was bliss, but every blissful moment has to come to an end…. This one ended as soon as S started to realize how little she knew about her still somewhat new home. She hadn’t explored anything since she got here, being way too preoccupied killing workers to meet the required quota.
That’s it. It’s decided then….. I’m going exploring right now!
She stood up quickly and extended her wings out of her casing. Then, after spreading them wide, she lifted up with a resounding flap. Now that she was in the sky she began to survey the ground looking for anything interesting that could grab her attention. It took her a long while of flying before she found anything of note.
Off in the distance she spotted a small town or village, clearly abandoned and likely from the human era. An excited grin spread across her face as she picked up the pace, heading straight for the town. After a few seconds of flying, she reached her target location.
S landed in the town quickly and looked around to get a better idea of where she was. After a quick look around she could tell this was exactly the type of place she was hoping to find. From her original vantage point it looked like a small town, but now she could tell it was a shopping district. Why was finding a shopping district so important? Because it’s the perfect place to find shiny knick knacks and fun toys of course!
S immediately set out to search the place. After going through a few stores she’d already found a lovely bag that she then stored many shiny jewels and trinkets in. The entire time she was doing this an enthusiastic smile was clear on her face. This was her favorite pastime afterall! Sadly, apparently she was passing time a little too well.
S looked up at the sky to check to make sure the light was fine. To her dismay, it most certainly wasn’t. The moon was already disappearing behind the horizon, soon to be replaced by the sun. This was bad…. She’d gotten way too carried away, yet again. There was no time to mope around though. She chose a store at random, ran inside, then immediately blocked up all doors and windows within. After this she could finally take in her surroundings.
She was inside what appeared to be a music shop. Stringed instruments hung along the walls, drums were located along the floor, and other instruments like pianos were also present. Since she was stuck here anyways, S decided it was the perfect time to explore and try new things out. She walked over to the pianos, pressed a few buttons, heard nothing, then immediately gave up and went onto the MD equivalent of YouTube (whatever that may be). She looked up ‘how to play piano’ and began teaching herself how to. It only took about 15 minutes before she gave up. This clearly wasn’t her style.
S went through a majority of the different musical instruments in that same way, right until she reached a certain stringed instrument. A bass guitar stood in front of her. She picked it up, set up a video, and began to play.
Hours later she still had the instrument in her hands. At this point she’d learned some of the chords on the E string and was already putting a lot of practice into them. She checked her internal clock and then grinned.
Yup, this is the one. This is the instrument for me.
She thought to herself, her smile only getting bigger. She was pretty happy now. She looked around and after a while found a case for the instrument. She also grabbed an amp and all the proper cords she’d need in order to use the instrument. She packed all this away, then found a nice place to hang from and get some rest for the rest of the day.
She flew up, then wrapped her tail around one of the exposed ceiling pillars. She then let herself fall, now hanging by her tail from the support beam. She wrapped her wings around herself comfortingly, then slowly let herself fall into sleep mode. A small smile was still present on her face as she did this.
Today was a really good day…..
She thought as sleep began to overtake her mind. Then, after just a few seconds, she was fast asleep.
