Work Text:

Marius hurried through the polished halls of Themis Law Firm, the usual buzz of activity around him muted by the adrenaline still coursing through his veins from a long board meeting. As CEO of Pax Group, his days were filled with endless responsibilities, yet somehow he always carved out time for Artem who’d always seemed to ground him; his Wing.

After quickly stepping out of the elevator, Marius made his way to his boyfriend’s office, white orchids in hand. They were a simple yet elegant choice—something to brighten Artem’s day. He placed the flowers delicately on the lawyer’s polished desk before sinking into one of the chairs, taking a moment to collect himself.

Just as he began to unwind, the door swung open, and in walked Artem, followed closely by Rosa, who was juggling a stack of documents.

“Wing”

 Marius greeted, a wide smile spreading across his face. Artem's eyes widened in surprise, and then a soft smile crept onto his lips;

“Darling”

The warmth in Artem’s voice makes the artist’s heart flutter. “I didn’t expect to see you so soon,” he continued.

Marius stood up, an arm wrapping around the older’s waist as he leaned in to place a quick kiss on his cheek. The familiar warmth of the moment felt like home. “Nice to see you too,” he whispered, stealing a glance at Rosa, who was still standing behind them with a teasing look.

“Rosa” he greets

“Marius,” she greeted back, her tone playful, “While I support you both in your... endeavors,” she paused for effect, her eyes sparkling with mischief, “Mr. Wing does need to sign a couple of cases for me to review.”

Marius chuckled and raised his hands in defeat. “Alright, Miss, he’s all yours,” he said, plopping back down into the chair with a grin.

Artem shakes his head, and couldn't hide the amused glint in them. “I’ll be with you in a moment, Rosa,” he said, turning his attention back to the other man

.

“What brings you here? I thought you’d be swamped with work today.”

“Can’t a guy surprise his partner?” the younger shot back playfully, leaning back in his chair with a lazy grin.

“Partner,” the lawyer repeated. “Have I been demoted to what you would call business mergers?” he teased.

"Apologies. Would 'My Lover' suffice?"

Artem shook his head. “You could always wait outside, you know,” he suggested, trying to maintain a façade of professionalism despite the corners of his mouth twitching upward.

“And miss this chance to see you work like this? Not a chance. Wing

Rosa cleared her throat, holding up the documents in her hand. “As charming as this is, I really do need these signed.”

“Fine, fine,” Artem conceded, the playful tension shifting as he stepped away from Marius. He sat at his desk, quickly flipping through the papers while Marius watched with a soft smile.

There was something profoundly calming, almost serene, in seeing the older man in his element, immersed in his work. It was a side of him that few got to witness, and Marius relished the privilege.

Artem turned a page, his eyes briefly glancing at the orchids neatly placed on the table;

"Perhaps I should keep you around just for the flowers,” the lawyer teased, breaking the silence.

"You're getting the hang of flirting, Wing."

“Flirting implies a level of mutual interest, darling,” Artem replied, raising an eyebrow, though there was a hint of amusement in his tone. “I have to make sure I’m still interested after all the interruptions.”

Rosa, pretending to be busy sorting through her documents, couldn’t help but chuckle.

"Seriously, you two... Just sign the damn papers, Artem, so I can get back to my own life.”

Marius chuckled and stood up to look out the window, more so to not distract his boyfriend any longer.

Artem sighed, picking up the second document with a smile. The room soon transitioned into work mode as he focused, while Marius occasionally chimed in with lighthearted commentary, eliciting soft chuckles from both lawyers. It was a dance they had developed over the months.

After half an hour, Artem leaned back in his chair with a satisfied sigh. “Okay, all done,” he said, pushing the last document aside. Rosa stood up, gathering her papers with a relieved smile.

“Finally! I can breathe again,” she said, rolling her shoulders as if shaking off the stress of the day. “I’m heading out now; Luke is picking me up from work tonight” she said giddily.

“Have fun,” Marius said, flashing her a smile.

“Send our regards,” Artem added

“Will do! You two enjoy the rest of the night”

As the door closed behind her, Artem turned to Marius, a satisfied grin lighting up his features.

“Now, where were we?”

“The orchids”

The artist replied, nodding toward the flowers on the table.

“Right, of course,” the older one said, gently picking up the bouquet and inhaling its sweet scent.

“They’re beautiful, darling. Thank you.”

“Can I steal you away for dinner, or will you be working overtime?”

Artem glanced back at his desk, a thoughtful expression crossing his face as he weighed the paperwork piled up before him against Marius’s inviting gaze. “Well,” he started, his voice teasingly hesitant, “I could always find a way to make it work.”

“Come on,” Marius urged, leaning forward in his chair, hands reaching out to hold the other's. “I promise I won’t let you pick up a single pen. Just one evening without work, please?”

“You know it’s hard for me to say no when you put it like that” A genuine smile spread across Artem’s face, and he lifted a hand to caress the younger's cheek, his thumb brushing over his skin. “Just give me a moment to tie up these loose ends.”

Marius nodded, covering Artem’s hand with his own and bringing it to his lips for a soft kiss.

“Alright, Wing . Do your thing.”

Marius watched as Artem returned to his desk, fingers gliding over the papers. The brief moment of seriousness was still imbued with an undeniable warmth, and Marius couldn’t help but admire how dedicated the lawyer was to his work.

After a few minutes of focused scribbling, Artem turned back to Marius, his expression brighter.

“Alright, I’m all yours now”

As they settled into their cozy corner table overlooking the Stellis skyline, the vibrant city lights twinkled like stars against the inky backdrop of the night. Despite the prying eyes of onlookers, especially given Marius's status as a Von Hagen, he had long since grown accustomed to the scrutiny that accompanied his last name which always seemed to carry weight and curiosity. It was a small price to pay for moments like this, where he could steal away with the man he loved.

“Gege”  he called out teasingly, his voice dripping with sweetness.

“Darling”

“You're awfully glowing tonight,” Marius remarked, a playful smirk dancing on his lips.

“Flattery will get you anywhere as a Von Hagen, it seems” The older replied, shaking his head as he takes a sip from his wine

“Well, can you blame me? When you look this good, how can I resist? You really do light up the room, Wing

Artem fought the blush creeping onto his cheeks, a smile tugging at his lips. “Tell me about your day,” he prompted, eager to shift the focus.

The younger man placed his elbow on the table, resting his chin on his hand as he gazed thoughtfully at Artem. “You know how it goes—endless discussions about numbers and projections. I had a lot on my mind.”

“What was weighing on your mind?” Artem asked, his tone genuine.

Marius shifted his gaze from the window, where the city sparkled, to his lover’s attentive expression. With a playful grin, he replied;

“How to get to your office faster.”

“Sweet talker” Artem teased, a soft smile spreading across his face, and Marius relished the sight of it.

“I wouldn’t mind doing this every day with you, Wing ”

“I could get used to this too”
