It was early in the morning when Zhuang Yibai woke up before anyone else in the TTC base. A rare moment, as the support member was notorious for sleeping until noon. Perhaps he would even sleep the entire day away if he wasn’t woken up by Pine or Ding-ge.
Xiao Bai was a heavy sleeper, nothing could make him wake up when he was asleep. Even he, himself, was confused as to why he was currently wide awake. The sun had barely come up. He reached for his phone to check and saw that it was six o’clock.
…Definitely way too early, he sighed. He turned off his phone screen and shuffled back into the blanket, wanting to bask in his boyfriend’s warm embrace for a little longer. Pine had always been the first to wake up amongst them. He would exercise in the mornings before coming back to shower and wake Xiao Bai up. Other times, like today, he would sleep in so that he could be together with his boyfriend.
After all, who could resist such a charming support such as himself, Zhuang Yibai thought smugly. He stared at Pine’s sleeping face, finding the contrast between his usual, cold self compared to this very endearing—secretly grateful that he was the one that could see all sides of Jiang Yusong and not anyone else. Xiao Bai was not a very possessive person, but even so, he too, had things he could not just share with the world!
Twenty minutes have passed after the incredibly useless monologue he had with himself about his handsome boyfriend. Knowing it was useless to try and go back to sleep, Xiao Bai got up and went to the bathroom to wash up.
After brushing his teeth and washing his face, he crawled back onto the bed, leaning against the headboard to use his phone. He checked up on a couple of games he played, replied to some messages from his parents, and was even bored enough to look at the news. Just when he thought there was nothing to do, a certain video caught his attention.
It was a video of a black, plump cat sleeping peacefully on her cat tree. She yawned and then covered her face with her paws while the owner laughed in the background. Xiao Bai found the corner of his lips curling up as well and tapped on the suggested videos after saving it.
The prince of social media could not resist such adorable animals, enamored by how soft and fluffy all the cats looked and lost track of time. Growing up, his family only had a fish tank. While Xiao Bai liked watching them, the experience was not the same. The base did not allow for pets either, he thought to himself, but it wasn’t like he was going to live here forever. Maybe when they get a place of their own…
“Up so early?” A rough voice murmured beside him. Almost immediately after, an arm came to wrap around his waist. “Why didn’t you wake me up?”
He would never say it out loud (the last time he did, he paid the price with his waist) but Xiao Bai found it very cute when Pine needed him close by, especially so in the mornings when he was still half-awake and more honest.
Xiao Bai patted his head and gave it a toss. “Good morning, P-bao. I was going to let you sleep in. You look like you haven’t been sleeping well these days.”
Pine sat up to press a soft kiss on his cheeks. He pulled Xiao Bai up so that he was sitting on his lap, to which the other happily agreed to, and rested his head against his shoulders, closing his eyes again with a satisfied hum. “Mmm. Because someone got caught coming to my room multiple times. Couldn’t sleep well.”
“I won’t get caught next time…” Xiao Bai pouted. Looking back at the phone, he took off the earphones he had on and patted Pine again to show him something. “Ah, nevermind that. P-bao, look at these two cats! Aren’t they cute?”
Pine opened his eyes and stared at the cats curled up against each other. When the video was over, he looked back and found Xiao Bai’s sparkling eyes on him, eagerly waiting for his response. He let out a small chuckle and gave his cheeks a pinch, “Cute.”
Xiao Bai squinted at his actions, doubtful that he was talking about the cats. Of course, he is very cute and should be praised as such... But that was not the point! Luckily, Zhuang Yibai was nothing if not a persistent man.
“Ever since I liked that post Jian Rong shared, I keep getting spammed with ads and videos about cats everywhere…” He scrolled down to show him the ones he liked earlier and went on to blabber, “That’s why you have to be careful, P-bao. They’re always watching, they probably know all your bad habits and dirty things you've searched for by now.”
Pine replied coldly, “What do I have to be afraid of? Who was the one that looked up on Baidu how men have sex with each other and got nightmares after watching gay porn?”
“Lalalalala I don’t know what you’re talking about~~” Xiao Bai sang heartily while secretly cursing a certain man named Jiang Yusong a thousand times in his heart. Unfortunately, his body language was already doing all the talking for him, his cheeks heating up and glowing red, to which Pine watched with much amusement.
“Have you been watching these all morning?” Pine asked, glancing at the cat videos with cute music that were being shown to him one by one.
“Just started. I haven't been up for long. Wait, look at this one I saw earlier. She rolls around and begs for food to everyone in the house.”
“Mm.” The similarity between the cat and a familiar support whining for snacks was not missed by Pine.
“See? Cute, right? You're smiling too!” Xiao Bai nudged at him.
“You really like them?” Pine reached out to fix some of his hair that was out of place. “Not just a phase?”
He shook his head and nodded excitedly, “En, I've always liked animals. P-bao, let's raise a cat in the future!”
“Even though we have one here already?” Pine smiled in amusement and patted Xiao Bai’s stomach as if to prove a point.
Xiao Bai froze and stared at the hand on his belly. He then looked up to give his boyfriend the meanest glare he could fathom, sure enough to make him shake and tremble in fear. “Is this… a new way of calling someone fat? Jiang Yusong, explain yourself.”
Of course, Pine did not feel threatened in the slightest and casually replied, “I’m saying I have a cat right here called Zhuang Yibai.”
“How am I like a cat?” Xiao Bai huffed.
“No?” Pine teased. His hands slipped underneath Xiao Bai’s shirt to draw lazy circles on his sensitive skin, causing Xiao Bai to shiver slightly from the touch. “Where do you think my name on WeChat came from?”
Bye’s Cat Climbing Tower.
“F-From the cat, of course!” He stuttered. Surely it was a reference to the cat hero Yuumi, a popular choice for female players and couples that liked to show off their love in League.
“Then, what about the scratches on my back and waist that magically appeared on me last night, hm?”
“That’s…” The blush from earlier returned on Xiao Bai tenfold, along with the sudden urge to disappear into the blankets in shame.
Pine didn’t let him go anywhere and continued on, “You like to take naps right after you finish eating. You always do random things to get my attention. You make a fuss if I don’t leave the door to my room open for you.”
“And also,” Pine dragged the cursor back a couple of seconds and unpaused the video playing on Xiao Bai’s phone to point at the scene—it showed an orange cat grabbing onto their owner’s hand with their paws and playfully biting them, before proceeding to lick and groom that area. “You have a habit of doing exactly the same thing when we have sex.”
He thought back to the image of Zhuang Yibai last night, who was biting hard on his shoulders, nails digging into his skin as Pine was deep inside of him. Worried he had used too much strength with his teeth, the older male then lapped at the wound shyly with small licks, like it was his own way of apologizing.
Blood quickly rushed down towards Pine’s lower body after remembering the scene and he gazed at the person to blame trying to shuffle away on his lap. He held him back in place, muttering against his ear, “Should I keep going?”
Xiao Bai’s eyes widened. He turned around and shoved his hand to cover the younger’s mouth without thinking, “No! D-Don’t… speak anymore.”
Pine quietly glanced at the hand on his mouth and didn’t say a word. He grasped Xiao Bai’s hand with his own, brushing his lips against the warm palm.
It had only been a small kiss, but something about the way he was caressed, and how delicately he was treated, made Xiao Bai’s heart skip a beat. He slowly continued, leaving his hand tickled as he also kissed his wrist.
Xiao Bai’s breath stopped altogether when Pine opened his eyes again, eyes as dark as the abyss staring into him.
In that moment, he couldn’t think of anything else. The feeling of restlessness unable to leave his body. He gave a light tug, slipping away from Pine’s hold.
“P-bao.”
“Hm?”
“Kiss…here,” He pointed at his lips, a pout forming already from the lack of attention it was given compared to his hand.
The younger male did as he was told, grabbing a hold of Xiao Bai’s chin and pulling them forward for a kiss. Their bodies quickly filled the spaces between them. Xiao Bai took the chance to wrap his arms around his boyfriend’s neck, tilting his head so that it was at a better angle. He felt the hand that was on his waist give him a small squeeze, trying to press them together even closer than they already were and made an embarrassed noise slip from his mouth.
In the midst of their kiss, Xiao Bai did not forget about being teased earlier and bit his lower lip as revenge. He received an amused laugh in return, blushing harder at how nice it sounded and getting annoyed by how much he liked hearing it.
But the irritating feeling went away as soon as it had come, slowly melting at the way Pine was kissing him—starved but unhurried, taking his time with the person he loved in his arms. Xiao Bai could only let himself be swept away by the younger, almost forgetting how to breathe before they separated, lips covered with a gleam from the rather passionate session.
Pine turned over, changing their positions so that he was now on top of him. He pushed the other back onto the bed and grinded their hard-ons together, causing Xiao Bai to let out a moan. In a low voice, he said, “It’d be a waste if I don’t spend time playing with my cat after he took the effort to wake up early, don’t you think?”
In the end, Zhuang Yibai fell back asleep after getting bullied by Jiang Yusong. He woke up in the afternoon like usual—vowing to never wake up early again and could not even think about cats anymore without getting red, while Pine ended up with a lot more scratches and bite marks that day.
