Work Text:
It was crowed at the Novigrad market. It was always crowded here, this was simply normal in the cities, but today was market day so there were sellers from all over Velen here and that must be a reason for the whole city to come here and stand in Geralt’s way. Geralt was only here because Jaskier belonged to “the whole city coming here”. Geralt should have known, something was up, when Jaskier had insisted on making a little detour to Novigrad during their travels up north to Kaer Morhen and of course Geralt could have not said no. Even if he’d known the reason for Jaskier wanting to come here.
“I think I need something warm for the winter, don’t you think?” Jaskier asked and grabbed Geralt’s hand to pull him along. Geralt bumped into someone, wanted to apologise but the person had already vanished in the crowed. Jaskier did probably really need something warm for the winter. Kaer Morhen was much colder then Oxenfurt, where Jaskier usually spent his winters. But this year they wanted to spend it together and Jaskier wanted to meet the other Witchers, so they were traveling north.
“Isn’t this coat beautiful?” Jaskier asked. It was a red woollen coat with embroidered flowers. It looked expensive. It was beautiful.
“This will probably get ruined in Kaer Morhen,” Geralt replied. Jaskier looked at this coat a little longer, thinking.
“I will buy it,” he decided anyway. Geralt didn’t want to know how many Crowns Jaskier just gave the seller. Instead he pulled Jaskier in his arms and buried his nose in Jaskier’s hair. For a moment Geralt closed his eyes to escape the hustle around them for only a couple of seconds. He felt Jaskier’s arms come around his waist.
“Thanks for coming with me”, Jaskier said.
