Work Text:

The epiphany came to him rather violently, that Draken wondered why the thought had just occurred to him.

Draken was so freaking in love with Mitsuya.

Screw the noisy voices in his head that kept telling him, he was cringe and super lame for being in love with his boyfriend.

If someone was ever in his position, he would guarantee that someone would feel the same way. Tough luck, it wouldn't come to any of that, because Draken would never let Mitsuya go, as long as he could.

Why would he?

"Smells so good," he draped himself on Mitsuya's back, arms sneaked around his waist.

Mitsuya turned his head, only to collide with Draken's face perching on his shoulder. He gave him a soft smile. "Good morning to you, too."

So what if Draken couldn't help himself from smiling goofily at the greeting before he leaned to capture Mitsuya's lips in a quick kiss?

"Don't distract me," Mitsuya complained, but he pecked Draken back, as quickly. "Or I'm not gonna get these done."

Draken looked over Mitsuya's shoulder and settled himself like a giant turtle shell on Mitsuya's back.

"What are you making?"

"Bacon and eggs." Mitsuya seized the pan over the heat, getting the bacon sizzling satisfyingly, while the sunny side up cooked alongside them. "I don't have enough ingredients to make a complicated breakfast, so I'll just get some eggs and bacon, along with the toast. I have the jams too if you'd prefer that."

Draken inhaled, though it wasn't clear whether he smelled the bacon or Mitsuya. Mitsuya had to clean up himself, washing his face at least. He smelled like the bed he had just shared with Draken, comforting and alluring.

"Stop sniffling me," Mitsuya elbowed him. "I told you, I'm trying to get these done as soon as possible. You aren't helping by distracting me."

Draken grinned.

"Am I that distracting?"

Mitsuya merely rolled his eyes before he reached for the plate to put the bacon and the egg. Draken loosened his grip to let Mitsuya move, but he didn't completely let him go. Once the portion was served, Mitsuya went to make another.

Draken didn't even step back, and yet, Mitsuya still worked with such an ease.

He had to get used to his sisters gluing to him while making breakfast. So, as long as Draken didn't bother him too much, he wouldn't complain if Draken had been clinging to him like a koala.

This is nice, letting himself lose in the comfort of Mitsuya in his embrace.

"Why don't you get more shut-eye if you're so sleepy?" Mitsuya knocked the side of his head to Draken's, when Draken nuzzled him, only to close his eyes and savor the touch.

Draken mumbled intangibly, his response drowned by Mitsuya's shirt.

"Go back to bed, Draken," Mitsuya caressed Draken's hand over his middle. "I promise, I'll wake you up when breakfast is ready. It's still too early. Even for everyone."

Draken opened his eyes at that, pouting. "I won't get to do this in front of everyone."

Mitsuya flipped the bacon before he angled his head to have a proper look at Draken, his gaze was soft when he asked, "Why not?"

The question got Draken blinking.

It wasn't like he tried to keep their relationship a secret. He wasn't just actively telling people. And by people, he meant, their gang of six.

What he had with Mitsuya was pretty new, and he had never been happier.

But Draken wasn't ready for their noisy and super intrusive friends to get involved in his relationship. Especially with Mikey constantly trying to get him and Emma together (Emma was actually very sweet and supportive when she found out about Draken's secret crush to Mitsuya).

Mitsuya was okay keeping this change of status themselves for a while, but now, Draken wondered if Mitsuya actually wanted something different and was just too considerate for his sake.

The epiphany came to him rather violently, and it got him pondering why the thought had just occurred to him.

I was so freaking in love with Mitsuya.

And he wanted everyone to know that.

"You're okay with it?"

Mitsuya set the pan down, turning the stove off, before he spun himself to face Draken.

"Okay with what? Our friends being the meddling menaces?" Mitsuya grinned. "It'd worry me more if they aren't."

Draken looked into Mitsuya's amethyst.

He didn't know what he was searching for, but whatever it was, the answer always laid in those bright orbs, promising him that everything would be okay.

Draken was so freaking in love with Mitsuya.

Screw the noisy voices in his head that kept telling him, he was cringe and super lame for being in love with his boyfriend.

This time, the same thought had to occur in Mitsuya's head because he looped his arms around Draken's neck, pulling him down for a kiss.

Yes, the answer to everything he had ever questioned was in Mitsuya's all along.

"When are we gonna tell them?" Draken whispered, bumping his nose.

Mitsuya opened his mouth so close it brushed Draken's.

"Uh, right fucking now?"

But, the voice belonged to Baji.

Draken and Mitsuya sprung apart at command upon hearing it.

Turned out, Baji wasn't their only audience. Pah was busy collecting his jaw on the floor, Kazutora was frowning so deep that Draken wasn't sure whether he was awake or not, and Mikey was just standing there, holding a blanket, with an unreadable expression on his face like a child that had just witnessed something that he shouldn't see.

How could Draken momentarily forget, they were all staying at Mitsuya's apartment and he wasn't the only one to spend the night like usual?!

"Oh, good morning," Mitsuya cleared his throat. "I'm just making breakfast, are you guys hungry?"

The misplaced casualness overrode the awkward situation pretty fast.

Started with Baji, getting over his shock, only to shock everyone more by yelling, "What the fuck is happening!?"

"Ken-chin, what is this?" Mikey's voice was too calm, it was almost dangerous. "Are you dating Mitsuya? I thought you were into Emma—"

Pah-chin's eyes ping-ponged between Draken and Mitsuya like he couldn't decide who was more responsible for this very, very, very unexpected breaking news.

He settled for Mitsuya. "You gay?"

Draken sighed and addressed the one who might get the wrong idea the worst, first. "Emma and I are good friends, Mikey. You should stop pestering her to get a boyfriend."

To Baji and Kazutora, "Please don't challenge us for duel, what I have with Mitsuya is pretty new, we're still figuring things out."

To Pah-chin, "We'll have another conversation about that, Pah, but yes, me and Mitsuya are together."

Mitsuya added, almost automatically, as if he didn't want them to misunderstand.

"We're dating."

With that, Mitsuya went to Draken to entwine their hands, unveiling the true nature of their relationship to their friends, leaving no room for misinterpretation.

Draken squeezed their joined hands.

"I will give you five minutes to do anything you want to me, so make use of that precious time—"

And when he was charged by three people at once, Draken was proud he had the chance to push Mitsuya aside, sparing him from the impact.

"WHAT THE FUCK, DRAKEN?!"
