You are sitting on the couch watching Grey’s Anatomy when Lysosome gets home. You and Lysosome have been together for 4 years, and he proposed to you about a month ago. He’s a recycling guy, and though it is not necessarily the most appealing job, you love how important it is to society. By extension loving Lysosome that much more.
Unfortunately for you, Lysosome does not share this sentiment. He hates his job, regardless of its necessity. He despises the lack of dignity that comes with the job. He says as much when he comes home one day.
“Y/N why do I even do my job,” He asks, sighing as he walks through the door, he throws his shoes and coat by the door before collapsing on the couch next to you. You pause your show and turn to him, giving him your full attention.
“I mean,” He continues, “All I do is collect garbage around the cell, it’s not like I do anything important like saving lives like doctors…”
“Lysosome,” You say firmly “You’re so much more important than those money scrounging imbeciles, I mean, could a doctor use the hydrolysis machine and break down waste like you do?”
“I mean, I guess not…” He replies, “But I mean- firefighters risk their lives every day to save people.”
“Yeah, but would the firefighters have any room to work if you didn’t recycle their waste?” You counter, raising an eyebrow. Lysosome doesn’t respond, instead opting to lean on you, burying his face in your shoulder.
“Anyways,” you continue, “I love your job. It’s so important, and so brave. Not many people would bother with this job but you did. And you figured out how to do the process of Autophagy to recycle some of the waste, single handedly changing your whole industry, you cannot minimize your accomplishments like that, it hurts my feelings.”
Lysosome looks up at you quizzically. “I’m not that special” he says
“I never want to hear you say that,” you reply sharply, “You are special to me, and you always will be lysosome.”
“Ok, Y/N” He replies. You know he doesn’t believe you yet, but one day you’ll be able to show him just how amazing he is, you’re sure of it.
