It was the first week of October, everyone was buying Halloween decorations. But not you, thanks to your girlfriend. Apparently Christmas was important this year as it was your first time celebrating together as a couple.
You were on the third store of the day looking for decorations that would pass Rhea's standards. So far you have bought only four things, some vintage stuff and even a brand new tiny plastic tree for your desk.
Now, you were in front of a small display of outdoor decorations trying to figure out what even had on them.
"I think these are pine cones but painted green" Your girlfriend was holding a Christmas wreath, a very ugly one.
"Yeah, and some acorns maybe? Do you want to buy it?" It was ugly, it looked more like a kid's school project than something professionally made, but you were trying to be supportive.
"I think it's kind of cute, wait I think these are chestnuts!" Oh God, now you will have to compromise.
"Why would it be chestnuts? Pine cones are more of a winter thing"
Looking at the shelfs, you find a small green thing, tucked between all the other decorations, you pull it out to examine it closer. Mistletoe. You start to smile as an idea pops up in your head to surprise Rhea.
Grabbing the Mistletoe you walk behind your girlfriend, who is still looking at the ugly Christmas wreath, raise it as high as you could above your head and wait for Rhea to turn around.
"You are right, these are definitely pine cones. I think if we buy it I can paint over a few of these red to have more color" Okay, maybe your plan had a big flaw. Rhea was very good at counting on something when she put her mind into it, even if it was a horrible green mess.
A few seconds go by and you finally just say "Baby turn around"
"Mmm?" She turns around and looks at you with curiosity, then she looks up at your hand, then back at you. This time, she had a playful smile on her lips "What you got there pretty lady?"
"Mistletoe, and I think you have to do something now that we are both under it"
"Mmm, Do I? What is it?" She was teasing you, of course she was. But she also was getting closer to you, your noses touching "What do you want baby?" you rolled your eyes.
"A kiss Rhea, you have to kiss me"
"Oh Is that so? okay baby, i can do that"
You close your eyes, ready for the kiss and then you feel soft lips...on your cheek
"What? oh no, we are not doing this" You grab her by the neck with your free hand and crush your lips together in a proper kiss "Now that's better" You say as you lower the mistletoe and put it back in the shelf
"Wait, If i'm going to get a kiss like that everytime, I'm going to need a lot of this" Rhea said as she put the mistletoe in your cart "Do you think I can hang one in every door frame?
Well, at least she forgot about that horrendous wreath.
