Summary
The dance around their kitchen in the mornings is well-choreographed, second nature to them both; muscle memory carries them until the caffeine kicks in.
Henry makes his tea and toast by the kettle; Alex prays to the coffee maker to brew his coffee faster, wondering yet again whether there’s a way to inject it directly into his veins.
On a good day, there’s time to eat breakfast and sip their first cup of the day side by side while they talk. On even better days, there’s time to push Henry up against the kitchen counter and make out lazily until one of them drags the other back up to bed (or onto the floor or up onto the kitchen counter). On less than stellar days, there’s barely time for a kiss before one of them – usually Alex – flies out the front door, ‘I love you’ called down hallways; a promise for later.
