Work Text:
Sakura took a deep breath as she posted her latest lyrics video to her newest song. Naruto had truly gone and made a masterpiece out of this one, the boy truly had an eye for editing.
It was easily the most nerve-wracking post in a while. So far she had been known to have many different genres she excelled in. But she had stayed away from the more cutesy lovey-dovey genre so far.
Reminding her too much of a phase she had long left behind, Sakura was hesitant to make such a song. She cringed as she thought back on her crushing phase, mercilessly pestering Sasuke to be her boyfriend.
Luckily for her, Sasuke had forgiven her after she saw reason, the two now being good friends.
Regardless, when she shared these concerns with her two best friends, they had knocked some sense into her and to just give it a try.
Sakura knew it was a bad habit to have, but she monitored the comments and social media posts about her videos closely. However, it had been later than she usually would stay up, causing her to yawn loudly.
Deciding to be smart for once, Sakura booted down her computer and padded over to her bed. She promptly fell down onto the soft bed, closing her eyes.
After what felt like mere seconds, Sakura got woken up by her phone going off. Rolling over, Sakura decided whoever was bothering her could wait.
Yet, as if reading her thoughts, her phone sent ping after ping after ping.
Groaning, Sakura cracked open her eyes to see it was already daytime. Glancing over at the clock hanging on the wall, she was shocked to see it was already 9 am.
Seems like she truly needed that sleep.
Her phone was still annoyingly going off though, making Sakura reluctantly leave her warm and comfy haven, padding over to her desk where she had left her phone.
All the messages were from her friends, her eyes bugging out of her head as she saw how many people had texted her. She specifically looked at Ino's contact name, seeing she had sent over twenty messages in a short period of time.
Just as she opened her phone to read all the messages, Sakura was called by Ino. Not feeling like talking to the sassy blonde yet, but knowing there'd be hell to pay if she didn't pick up, Sakura reluctantly pressed the green call button.
“Hey-”
“Forehead! Finally! Did you see it yet?!” Ino might as well have been right next to her with how loud she yelled into her phone.
Sakura groaned again, nursing her head with the headache that was slowly forming, “See what?”
“How can you not have seen!? Your song!”
Booting up her computer, Sakura questioned, “What about it?”
Ino herself groaned then, exasperated, “Just, go look at it yourself.”
Just as her computer had finished loading, Ino hung up on her. Rude.
Opening YouTube on her browser, Sakura didn't even have to navigate to her channel page to know something had indeed happened. She had so many notifications in her inbox, making her head reel.
Quickly ignoring it for the time being, Sakura opened her YouTube studio, eager to see why her inbox was so full.
Sakura’s jaw fell to the floor as she saw her new video had garnered over five million views in less than twelve hours. That was unheard of for her!
She clicked through to read the comments and many seemed to express one sentiment: give us a music video!
Sakura had been hesitant to make a music video so far, having to fully fund it herself since she wasn't signed to any company. But it seems like the demand was finally here.
Picking up her phone, she called Ino back.
“Ino! We need to make a music video!”
“About time, forehead.” Ino told her, suppressing a sigh.
Sakura ignored the sass though, instead asking, “Want to help me record it?”
“Already on it.”

Sakura paced around the alleyway they had chosen to film the scenes in. She was nervous, immensely so.
Ino had gathered together a crew of her friends to help film the video, including Naruto and Sasuke. She had questioned Ino's sanity but stated they would be useful too and not interfere too much with the recording process.
Not only that, Sasuke had somehow managed to convince someone he knew to play her love interest in the video. Sakura was nervous as to who would show up and how their natural on-screen chemistry would be.
Shaking her head to erase her worry, Sakura tried to focus on getting herself in the zone.
Slowly the crew started arriving, making Sakura feel grateful for Ino's help. Her filmography degree was a useful one, along with her many industry contacts.
Naruto and Sasuke came waltzing over to her, making Sakura's nerves slowly dissipate as the comforting aura of her two brothers in all but blood surrounded her.
“I'm sure you'll do the best job ever, ya know!” Naruto encouraged her, smiling brightly as usual. Sasuke nodded next to him, seemingly emotionless but the small quirk of his lips gave him away.
“Thanks you guys.”
That's when Sasuke got a message, the man quickly checking his phone. He sighed, before telling the pair, “He's going to be a bit later, traffic is holding him up.”
With the lead actor being held up by the traffic, Ino decided they should start filming the choreography sections first.
Sakura quickly got into the flow, especially with the encouragement of her friends present. At one point they had to tell Naruto to stop hyping her up that loudly or else the music couldn't be heard.
As Sakura held the ending pose of her fifth take, she heard loud clapping.
Startled out of her pose, Sakura looked over to the source of the noise. Her jaw fell to the floor.
The Uchiha Shisui came walking into view, a grin wide on his face. Pieces clicked into place as the number one superstar introduced himself to the crew one by one.
Whirling around to Sasuke, she dragged him with her a distance away from the crew.
Sasuke merely smirked at her as she spluttered, blushing, “How- Why- What-!?”
“Don't you like him?” Sasuke smugly asked, double meaning loud and clear.
Sakura resisted the urge to bonk him over the head, instead managing to say through gritted teeth, “That's exactly my issue. You are such an ass-!”
“Hope I'm not interrupting you two,” Shisui spoke up from behind the pair, startling Sakura who nearly jumped up ten feet into the air. She turned around to face the radiant face of the man she had a shameless crush on.
He held out his hand in greeting, “It's a pleasure to be working with someone as talented as you, Sakura.”
Sakura barely managed to hold herself together as she shook his hand, “Likewise!”
Sasuke had walked away, leaving her half-heartedly glaring at the back of his head. Shisui chuckled as he followed her stare, “What did little Sasu-chan do now?”
Sakura couldn't help the snort that left her, laughter following. Shisui grinned at her laughter. Her laughter stopped, however, as she realised how close her idol was to her, a blush creeping up on her face.
“Great job you two! Now actually angle yourself properly for the camera!” Ino yelled at them from behind Shisui, making Sakura sober up quickly. Right. They were filming.
Stomping down her silly crush, Sakura took a deep breath as the pair angled themselves so the camera would have a beautiful shot. She had to be professional.
Ino instructed the pair to just naturally start talking to each other, walking hand in hand. Sakura suppressed the blush to the best of her ability but failed miserably.
“Just relax,” Shisui whispered to her, making her realise she had indeed tensed up. Nodding to herself, Sakura took a deep breath before continuing on.
Slowly settling into the role, Sakura had to admit she was enjoying herself. The scenes all came naturally to them, and acting with someone as talented at Shisui was certainly not a thing to complain about.
It's when Ino suggested a chocolate-feeding scene that Sakura got nervous again.
“You got this, forehead,” Ino whispered to her and winked, shoving the box of chocolates in her hands.
Sakura had the suspicion that all her friends were conspiring against her as she looked over to where they stood, giving either a thumbs up or an encouraging smile.
That stupid blush crept up again as she looked up at Shisui, whose smile had never left his face. He looked at her expectantly, “Well, go ahead!”
Sakura's hands shook as she picked up one of the heart-shaped chocolates. She took a breath to steady herself, before reaching up to his lips. Shisui's lips parted for her, allowing her to plop the chocolate between them.
The soft brush of his smooth lips against her fingers made Sakura reel, not able to fight the blush any longer. She quickly retracted her hands, wiping her sweaty palms on the dress she was wearing.
It's when Shisui picked up a piece of chocolate that her face must have lit up like a candle. His other hand came to hold the back of her head as the hand holding the chocolate came up to her lips. Sakura barely managed to part her lips, too flustered to do more.
Shisui wasn't bothered with it at all, plopping the piece between her lips before that same hand came to hold her cheek, smiling at her with such a beautiful smile that Sakura melted just like the chocolate in between her lips.
“That was amazing!” Ino yelled, causing the duo to break their stares, “How about a kissing scene next?”
“Ino!” Sakura yelled, flustered as all hell.
To her surprise, Shisui said, “I'm down.” making Sakura's wide green eyes shoot up to Shisui's black, taking in his smirking face. The amused tinge to it didn't go unnoticed.
Sakura's heart may as well have beaten out of her chest as Shisui took a step closer to her, lowering his face to hers again. “Relax, I don't bite…unless you want me to.”
Sakura's heart was already going into overdrive at his words alone, but when his soft lips finally made contact with her own, Sakura was scared she would have a heart attack.
His smooth, soft lips slowly enveloped her own, gently moving against them. Sakura felt her knees buckle, but Shisui held her waist equally as gently, holding her close to him. His other hand came up to cup her cheek again, slanting his lips further against hers.
When Sakura felt like she might just faint, Shisui retracted his face again, smiling at her with another beautiful boyish smile.
“I'd like to do that again,” Shisui muttered so softly only the two of them could hear. Sakura nodded mutely, knowing words wouldn't be able to form out of her mouth anymore.
“OK! One more b-roll scene and we should have enough!” Ino yelled then, shocking the pair out of their reverie.
As Sakura was let go, she managed to find enough strength in her legs to stand on her own again. Taking a deep breath and fanning her burning face, Sakura tried her best to focus on the last scene.
The last scene felt like it took forever to get right, but in reality, it took only two takes.
“That's a wrap! Good work everyone!” Ino announced, causing the crew to clap for everyone's hard work.
Before Sakura could even run to safety, Shisui interrupted her, “Thank you for having me.”
Sakura faced the man who had stolen her heart many years before, smiling up at him, “It was an honour to work with you.”
He grinned, “So… can I get your number?”
Sakura's face lit up again as the words registered, before furiously nodding, trying not to drop Shisui's phone as it got handed to her. She shakily handed it back again, barely managing to utter, “Here you go!”
Shisui then smirked at her, before stating, “I meant it, by the way.” before walking over towards Sasuke.
Sakura didn't have to think long on what he meant, face lighting up tomato red. That's when Ino came walking over, slinging an arm around her shoulder.
“Well, where are the thank yous?” Ino sassily asked.
She turned on Ino, only managing to glare half-heartedly, “You-!”
“ I was your wingman, yes.”
“Ino!”
“You'll thank me later.”
