Okay, so he would be lying if he said he wasn’t a little affected by whatever the fuck was going on there.

A tattoo parlour opens up right in front of Sanemi’s family flower shop and he doesn’t care (he’s pissed) so, when a pretty tattoo artist makes his way to his shop on the night of their opening day, he barely reacts (he falls head over heels in love)

Sanemi and Giyuu have an agreement.
If either of them are getting hit on and are becoming uncomfortable with the situation, the other can swoop in to the rescue. It’s worked countless times, and they’ve reached a point where they can read each other so well that they know exactly when to interrupt.
There’s only one problem.

Summary
In ways known to each other, there is no point, apparently, in one being in the shadow and one claiming all the credit in the Water Boys. It’s very extreme, in an irony of a show of equality - either they both become a whole single Pillar by some miracle of Nature and Magic and The Laws, or they both reject the Pillar offer in their eerie twin-like way of speaking and being and existing.
That speaks volumes about how they function, seeing as the Tokitou twins concede defeat, as twins, after witnessing their interactions.
The reason Sabito isn't a Pillar yet is because of Tomioka, and the reason Tomioka isn't a Pillar yet is because of Sabito - and Urokodaki refuses to relinquish any more disciples of his beyond these two, so people will have to chip at it until one of these stubborn mules accept the post.
(Or from Tomioka-Sabito to Sabito-Giyuu, from two halves to a whole)
