Work Text:
Quinn squints as the morning sun poured in through his bedroom window. He takes a few moments to wake himself up before looking down at Warren. Quinn snorts at his inability to move due to his boyfriend, half on top of him and fast asleep. He stares down Warren as if he were trying to wake him up with pure will. Warren doesn’t move an inch. Odd.
Unfortunately, Quinn’s hunger and need to start getting ready for the day was going to have to interrupt their cuddling.
“Warren,” Quinn says tiredly, drawing out the last letter, “get off me, it’s time to get up.” Quinn sits up and pulls Warren's arms off of him. Warren groans and his eyes crack open.
“Ugh… what time is it?” Warren asks, propping himself up on his elbow and rubbing his eyes.
“It's already 9, we slept in today.” Quinn replies and looks at his tired boyfriend, slight concern in his eyes. “I’m surprised, you’re normally up by now; not feeling well?” If Warren’s internal clock was off that was a pretty good sign he was coming down with something, but they usually had a bit of a warning as Quinn would catch it first. Warren groans at the thought of getting sick, but Quinn was right in his assumption. Warren had a splitting headache and he was sweating bullets under the blankets.
“Damn it… of course I’d get sick now, we’re way too busy for this, I’ll be fine.” Warren tries to climb out of bed, but is yanked back by his arm.
“Nice try, you’re staying right here.” Quinn says getting up and walking around the bed, “You always take care of me so I suppose it’s only fair if I repay the favor,” he feigns annoyance, but it was obvious he was just being dramatic. Warren tries to protest, but is shushed, “Ah, ah, ah, no buts. I just offered to take care of you, are you really gonna pass that up?” Quinn puts his hands on his hips and stares down at Warren, knowing he’s already won this debate.
Warren sighs, laying back down in bed. He was a little scared to see what Quinn’s definition of “taking care of someone” was. Quinn smiles at his victory and leans down to kiss Warren’s forehead, “Just stay here and relax, I have everything under control.”
--
Sometime later Warren is awoken, by a heavy weight on his stomach, “What the-? Oh.” He looks down to see Lizzie has made herself at home, he also notices Quinn standing in the doorway with what appears to be medicine and a glass of water. Quinn smiles softly and walks the rest of the way in the room.
“Hey babe, feeling any better?” Quinn sits on the side of the bed and sets the pills and water on the side table. Warren stretches, pets Lizzie, and looks at the clock; he’s been asleep for about 2 hours.
“A little bit, my head hurts less.” Warren picks up the pills and takes them, taking a few gulps of water afterwards for his sore throat. “I don’t think I’m that sick, I just needed some more rest,” he can’t help but notice how tired Quinn looks “and by the looks of it, so do you.” Warren thinks for a moment before opening his arms to Quinn. Quinn’s eyes widen before he scoots closer to Warren and relaxes into his arms. Warren holds him tightly and sighs contently.
“Let’s just stay here for a little while…” Warren says already drifting back off to sleep.
“Yeah… hey Warren?”
“Hm?”
“I love you.”
“I love you too, Quinn.” I guess love really is the best medicine.
Fin.
