“Okay,” Lance draws the word out, like he’s crooning, and sets his fork down to perch his chin on folded hands. “Now I imagine you… well, I try not to imagine what you do, honestly. I’m guessing you know you’re, um. Fine, physically. Like all equipment in order?”
Keith’s face is aflame. “Everything is… working.” He stalls. “It’s just. Difficult. I get really… frustrated, because I can get to a peak, but I feel like I can’t get over the hill.” His hands work their way into his hair. “I don’t know. This is stupid.”
