Work Text:

Yuta rarely fell in action. Between his strength and his stealth, it was hard for anything to get a hit on him. If they even got close, his ineffable amount of cursed energy would unnerve them so heavily that they’d pause long enough for Yuta to exterminate them.

All that power couldn’t stop him from tripping and falling, slamming his head into a metal pipe.

“Explode!” Toge screamed, wiping out the next curse. “Yuta! Yuta!”

Yuta groaned, lifting his hand to his head and shivering.

“Yuta!” Toge ran his hands through Yuta’s hair. ‘What’s your name?’ He signed.

“Yuta…” Yuta slurred. “Okkotsu.”

‘Good, good.” Toge whipped out his phone and texted Gojo, begging him to come as quickly as possible. Their sensei, never wasting a second when Yuta was involved, teleported to their side in an instant.

“Yuta.” Gojo picked up the teen, careful not to jolt him around too much. “You’ve gotta be more careful, kiddo. You know how much I worry.”

“Sorry.” Yuta garbled.

“I’ve got you now, let’s get you to Shoko.” Gojo hummed gently as he packed Yuta into the car. Toge slid in next to him, kissing his cheek.

“Don’t excite him too much.” Gojo giggled softly.

Toge hummed carefully, stroking Yuta’s hair gently.

“I can still walk,” Yuta mumbled sleepily.

“No way.” Gojo carried Yuta to the nurse’s office, laying him down on the bed as they waited for Shoko.

‘Stay awake.’ Toge signed.

“I will, I will.” Yuta hummed, reaching for Toge’s hand. “M not gonna pass out.” He said right before fainting.

Shoko came just in time, healing the sleeping boy and assuring his panicked companions that he was just sleeping. She told them to let him rest, he rarely did so and had to take advantage any time he could.

When he came to, he was looking up at the faces of his ward and his boyfriend, both of whom were biting their lips in anticipation.

‘Don’t move too fast.’ Toge signed. By the time Yuta could process it, it was too late.

“Agh.” Yuta pressed his hand against his forehead, wincing in pain.

“You have a slight concussion,” Gojo said as he handed Yuta a painkiller and water. “No missions for the rest of the month, but you should be fine.

Yuta smiled wearily, appreciating all the time that had just freed up. He looked over at Toge, imagining all the dates he would take him on.

‘You scared us.’ Toge signed.

“I’m sorry.” Yuta smiled. “I love you.”

Gojo squeezed Yuta’s hand, warming him from the inside out. “You need to rest,” he said. “I’ll carry you to your room.”

Yuta wrapped his arms around Gojo’s neck, already familiar with the process. He hung his head in the curve of Gojo’s shoulder, letting himself be carried to safety the way the older man always did. Out of everyone in the world, there were no other two people he’d rather be around.

Hope you enjoyed! I'm currently in the midst of a hurricane, so I'm uploading this at 12:43 am just in case I lose power. The shingles above my bedroom are being torn off as I write this.
