Until the End of Time

Summary:

Rio rushed after Agatha, following their “trial”.

May have spoilers, if my theories are right. No, I have not seen the Funko reveal, and no, I don’t wanna know.

Work Text:

“Leave me Agatha Harkness.

“No. No, you can’t have her.”

As soon as Rio watched the coven exit without her, she realized she may have fucked up.

She didn’t know the teenager, but the utter fury and animosity he held towards Agatha, was incredibly disarming. It was as if there was something deeper to it, rather than actually just losing a friend.

Rio didn’t hesitate to throw the body over her shoulder, and rushed out the door. She could send Alice’s soul into the Ether later. First she needed to check on her ex-wife.

As she emerged from the doorway of the building, she felt it. Some firey presence was squished underneath the soil. Her attention however, was towards the blue mass ahead of her. The teenager was sparking blue, and the rest of the coven was oddly missing.

She felt down into the earth, and felt the tendrils of purple mind and spirit reach out for her. The hand not grasping onto the body, reached down and pulled up to the sky.

An arm. Rio placed Alice as gently to the ground as she could, and she rushed towards the patch that was quaking.

Fingers grabbed at her, and Rio pulled, and called for the Earth to open up, and spit out her lover.

Covered from head to toe in mud, Agatha scrambled out of the mud, and flung herself back onto her feet.

“The others- he pushed them under.”

“You want them back up?”

“Please, Rio.” The mentioned witch sighed, and rushed over to the other two shaking patches, and drug them back to the surface.

Agatha was seething, and Rio watched as she prepared to shock the shit out of the boy. Wait .

Rio bent down and pulled Alice back over her shoulder.

“Hey, Bluey. Whatcha doing?” Rio slowly moved towards the boy. His piercing blue eyes watched her closely.

“She killed Alice.”

“Y’know, siphons can’t actually stop after the magic starts flowing, right? Oh wait, of course you knew that. You’re a prodigy.” Rio glared at him, and got closer.

“She killed Alice,” he repeated. He was in shock. His eyes stared unseeingly, and his hands were sparking. He was out of control.

“Keep control, boy…” Rio warned. Once again, she put the body on the ground, as if she was offering the Teen a treat. She watched as the soul of Alice Wu Gulliver rose from the body, to hover. A small yellow ball floating in the air.

The child bent down, and curled himself around her.

“She killed Alice.” At this, Agatha walked back out of the shadows. Rio just stared at her. Despite being hauled out of dirt and mud, she looked just as beautiful as ever.

Her hair was knotted and pulled back, and her coat had tatters, but Rio thought she looked gorgeous.

“Rio is right.” The boy’s eyes jolt up, as Agatha strolls over to him, hands deep in her pockets. “Siphons can’t really control their abilities. I typically can, but after being empty for so long, the thirst overcomes me.”

The teenager glances between the two women rapidly, before he’s suddenly back on his feet, and walking towards Agatha.

“No, you don’t.” Rio is in between them, magic binding the boy.

“I know it runs in your genetics, pet, but you don’t get to lose control out of grief.”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about. I can’t hear you.”

“Huh. So you didn’t cast it on yourself then.” Agatha pushed her body up against Rio’s back, propping her face over her shoulder to glare at the boy. “Fascinating.”

“Come find me when you manage your grief appropriately. I’ve got unfinished business.” Rio stated, coolly.

The coven resettled in for the evening. Agatha cast a protection spell and then zoned out, Lilia tended the fire, Jen picked berries, Rio braided flowers into Agatha’s hair, and Teen stared at Alice’s body.

“Walk?” Rio whispered down into the ear, of the woman in her arms.

“Please.”

They walked until they reached a stream, where they both slipped their feet in to cool.

“She didn’t mean it.”

“She did.”

“She didn’t understand you.”

“She understood that I was evil and dangerous.”

“She didn’t see.”

“Didn’t see what?”

Rio reached over and grabbed Agatha’s chin, turning it towards her. “She didn’t see you. And how could she have named you after the word for good, knowing you were evil?

“Also, that wasn’t your trial.”

“It wasn’t?”

“No. That was all the Salem Seven messing with you.”

“How do you know?”

“Mi amor, it felt wrong compared to the second trial. It wasn’t your trial.”

Silence settled in, and Rio saw the tears welling up in her lover’s eyes.

“So it may get worse.”

“I know, mi vida. I know.”

“I miss you, Ri.”

“I know that too.”

“I hate you, but I also still love you, and I hate that I do.”

“You hate that you love me?”

“No. I hate that I hate you.”

“I made it easy.”

“You did your job.”

“No. My job was to protect you both, and to never hurt you. I failed.”

“I still love you.”

“I still love you.”

“Switzerland?”

“Switzerland.”

“Until the end of time?”

“Until the end of time.”

Agatha grabbed Rio’s face, fingers curling in her hair, and pulled her lips to hers.
