Chapter Text
“I never asked for this!”
SWIPE.
SWIPE.
SWIPE.
A strange sight indeed. A girl with bright pink hair, wearing red Chinese silks, and loose-fitting black pants being hunted down by a panda in broad daylight? If there weren’t so many people around to witness it. It’d probably just have become some kinda crazy legend in Nerima.
“I still say the whole thing’s a load of crap!"
The girl exclaimed while dodging the swipes from the panda.
"Marryin’ me off ta some random chick I don’t even know!"
She reached in to grab the panda by his arm and throw him aside, but was overpowered and sent flying backwards.
However, possessing great acrobatic talent she elegantly flipped through the air to land gracefully on a stop sign.
"What about what I want for once huh old bastard?!”
Before the panda could blink the fierce tigress was already gone, repositioning right behind him and playing with her pigtail to taunt him. She knew she could goad him into making more mistakes.
Mr. Panda wasn't too thrilled about being shown up like that and pivoted around to unleash more wild swings at the tiny girl behind him.
Just as planned.
The pink haired girl finally moved to strike her assailant. Showing off skills only those who have been forged in the fires of martial arts could hope to attain, she grabs the panda’s outstretched arm and twists herself around it making herself seem weightless. She reaches for his upper arm and flings herself toward the ground; using her momentum and strength, she flings the panda at the nearest stop sign.
Despite the force of that collision killing any ordinary being, the panda seemed relatively unfazed. It rose to its feet to once again charge at the pink-haired teenager.
“Already gettin' back on yer feet eh old man? Best not hurt yourself!”
She seemed to expect this though, already readying her stance to counter the pandas easily telegraphed left hook with a block and a straight shot to his nose. Using her momentum, she leapt into the air driving her knee into the panda’s chin and knocking him down seemingly for good.
Flicking her braided ponytail with a look of scorn adorning her features, she grabbed her massive travel pack and started back in the direction she came.
“I’m going back to China to fix this mess. Stay here in Japan for all I care.”
The crowd that formed let out loud gasps and screams as the panda now identified as the girl’s father (????) wrenched the stop sign from the cement and moved to strike the clueless girl. She heard the uprooting of the sign, but was a little too late to react.
One swift wack and the girl was out cold causing mass panic amongst the spectators.
Growling and scaring everyone, on his way Mr. Panda here picked up the unconscious girl and carried her off to some unknown destination. Nobody dared to try and stop him.
Soon enough the pink haired girl came to. Just in time to see where it was her father had carried her off to. She immediately began to scream and thrash about in protest. However, because of her just waking up and the panda’s extreme strength, she was unable to get free.
“Let go of me pop! I don’t wanna marry no stupid dojo girl! I need to go back to China and get cured!” She insisted still thrashing about wildly. She could hear footsteps rushing their way and was sure that whoever it was was probably pissed about all the commotion outside their home. Soon enough those footsteps had faces put to them as a high school girl and an old man (probably her father) rounded the corner with excitement.
“Genma! Old friend! It’s so good to see you!”
“Oh Ranma, it’s such a pleasure to-”the girl abruptly stopped upon taking a real look at just who had shown up at their home.
“A-A panda!?” the bob-haired girl cried, jumping back in confusion. Figures they would be scared. Who the hell would ever expect a panda and a girl to come crashing into their home? Though they'd known who they were so Ranma figured they must have been expecting them. Meaning…this was the girl she was supposed to marry? She ain’t ugly or anything but…even if she was looking to get married, she just wasn't her type.
“Let me go you stupid furry bastard! You’re scaring ‘em spitless, look!” Ranma frantically pointed at the girl and her father currently backing away from the strange duo in fear. Before they could get too far, two more girls appeared behind them. One looking closer to Ranma’s age, wearing Gi Ranma quickly noted, and the other looking far older. The panda finally let the girl down, setting her in front of the old mustached man.
He stared at her intensely for a bit before grabbing her by the shoulders abruptly, startling her a bit. “You…you must be…”
The girl twirled the end of her pigtail around her fingers shyly and muttered out a soft greeting.
“R-Ranma Saotome…sorry 'bout this.”
The old man instantly lit up with joy squeezing the life out of the girl with tears practically spraying out of his eyes. “It’s so good to see you son! I’m so glad you finally made it!” He rejoiced, cheered and crushed poor Ranma in his embrace until the girl was able to push him off just slightly. The first girl took this opportunity to get a good look at the poor martial arts prodigy; she trying to figure something out, but Ranma couldn’t tell what. That is, until she felt a soft, slender finger poking at her chest.
It took all her self-control as a martial artist to not send this girl flying into the nearby wall.
“Could you…stop that please…” she strained as politely as she could manage.
The girl stood back up straight and whipped around to face her father. “Daddy! Ranma’s not a boy! She’s a girl!”
Her father froze, taking another good look at the pink-haired girl who he could have sworn was his dear friend’s son that was meant to have arrived today! Upon further inspection though, his daughter was right! This was no young man! This was a young lady at his door! Oh, the horror! How could the schools ever be joined now!? Who is to-
Oh and there he goes...
Ranma watched as the old man hit the ground and fainted. This was really starting to piss her off. It was just another reminder of why she was here in the first place! She silently fumed as her father picked up his dear friend and they made space for him to lie down in the family room grabbing him an ice pack and a pillow.
The girl she assumed was the middle sister was the first to say anything once everyone settled down around the room. “Some fiancé he turned out to be! How could daddy be so careless!” She complained.
“How was I to know he was a girl when her father clearly stated he had a boy in his letter!” he responded as soon as he had awoken.
The middle sister insisted on patting down Ranma’s chest again for the second time that day. “Then why is this “son” sitting here with a massive rack!” she exasperated.
“Get yer hands off me please!” Ranma whispered, once again trying not to get too terse with the girl. After all, this level of casual contact was normal between girls, right?
“You two are being rude! Our guests came all this way to see us, the least we could do is be hospitable!” The girl with long, pretty, blue hair admonished her sister and father. She turned to Ranma with a soft, inviting smile.
“Hey, my Name’s Akane. Wanna go out to the Dojo for a bit? I’d love to talk to you more and be friends if you’d like?”
To Ranma Saotome, in that moment, Akane Tendo was absolutely dazzling.
She was probably the only person here who seemed even a little concerned about her. It was…nice. Ranma couldn’t remember the last time she had any friends if she was being honest. There was Ryoga but…that was more like a rivalry, and even though she enjoyed having a rival it didn’t feel the same. Same with Ucchan from when she was a small kid. Since she and her dad traveled so much, she never even got to say goodbye to the boy. It sucked. No, if she was being honest with herself. It absolutely fucking blew ass. It pained her to her heart's core. She had nobody she could call a friend the same way all the kids she met on her travels had.
If she was gonna be stuck here for a while, then maybe…maybe having a new friend wouldn’t be so bad.
The two of them headed out to the dojo and Ranma had to admit. It was nice. Though she felt sorry for the poor dojo. It looked like it barely saw any use at all in quite some time. If she had to guess the only person here who used the damn thing was the nice girl who guided her here. A shame.
“So, I heard you studied kenpo is that right?” Akane asked.
“A little.” Came Ranma’s humble reply.
“That’s fine! Wanna have a quick spar? It’ll be for funsies, so you don’t have to worry either!”
Ranma froze at that for a quick second. When was the last time she had done anything, let alone spar for “funsies”?
“Sure!”
Fuck it. Can’t hurt to have a little fun after the day she’s had.
Akane got into a stance opposite Ranma while Ranma simply stood there with her hands behind her back. The taller girl was obviously confused.
‘It’s like she’s leaving herself wide open on purpose. I’ll show her!’
She studied Ranma with an intense expression before rushing forward to make the first move. The tensing of her muscles, the look in her eyes, the way her hips moved. Everything was telling Ranma exactly what the girl planned on doing. Too slow, too predictable, but it was entertaining watching her give it her all. Ranma smirked as she barely leaned enough to avoid the right-handed straight that was aimed at her face. She could feel the wind pressure from that strike alone.
‘She considered a punch like THAT to be “for fun”!? What the hell kind of girl is she!?’ she thought as she practically folded over in a display of extreme flexibility to dodge the roundhouse kick Akane had let gravity lead her into.
Regardless, Ranma didn’t let her know she was impressed with her level of raw strength and kept barely dodging all her strikes.
Akane was getting frustrated, she let out a growl as she pointed an accusatory finger at her guest, “You’re just messing with me! Come on try and hit me back!” she growled.
Ranma answered with nothing except the same sweet smile she’s worn the entire time she’s been at the Tendo Dojo.
“Fine then, you leave me no choice.” Akane readied herself again and took a deep breath. Ranma could feel her battle aura changing. She was getting serious, meaning this could be interesting. Did she have some sort of special move?
“Kachu Tenshin Amiguriken!”
Quicker than before, Ranma found herself dodging and weaving enough punches to make her break a sweat.
‘She’s…she’s so fast!’ was all Ranma could think of as she barely managed to avoid the onslaught of full powered punches being hurled at her.
She was going to have to break her “no hitting girls” rule otherwise she would lose, and Ranma Saotome HATED losing.
Mentally resetting herself. Ranma launched herself into the air and kicked off the wall, she was nearly pinned to, into a front flip. She allowed her arms to stretch out, barely grabbing the blue-haired girl’s head as she used the momentum to flip her over onto the dojo floor, ending the match.
Both girls were panting as the spar ended. Ranma wasn’t sure what the hell that trick she pulled was, but it was damn awesome, and she was for sure gonna learn it herself. She prided herself on her speed and agility after all.
Despite everything her old man told her about girls being too weak to fight, this Akane chick was the second to prove to him that was total bullshit.
“Where the hell’d you learn to punch that fast?” Ranma breathed.
Akane breathed heavily on the floor but still managed to answer, “It’s a technique I learned from an old Amazonian warrior who used to run a noodle shop here when I was in elementary school.” She let out a loud sigh before pushing herself to sit upright.
“I have ta admit Akane, that was one of the coolest moves I’ve seen in a while. If I hadn’t been well-trained, I’d have lost to that instantly. You should teach it to me sometime.” Ranma smiled at her, offering her new friend a hand to pull her up.
“Well, you need to teach me how you move so- so...elegantly! It’s like you can see everything happening before it happens! Not to mention how easily you seem to glide through the air!” Akane took her hand and stood up.
The two stared at each other, studying one another’s expressions before bursting out into a fit of laughter that could be heard even in the main house.
A soft sigh escaped Akane’s lips when it died down.
“Guess it’s true though.”
Ranma’s head snapped towards her; a confused expression now displayed across her features.
“You really did go on a trip to improve your martial arts. A little frustrating for me.” She closed her eyes and leaned against the back wall. A grim smile made its way onto her face.
“But I’m glad you aren’t a guy.”
Ranma froze. She could feel her heart beat quicker and her nerves started to lose their…well nerves! She felt sweaty and suddenly, she felt guilty too.
“Wh-why?” She managed to stutter out.
Akane looked back up at the girl across from her.
“Because I hate boys.”
She smiled as she started out of the dojo walking past a dumbfounded Ranma and leaving her behind with her plane crash of thoughts.
Ranma could feel everything around her crashing down. She was so excited to have someone she could call a friend again. She took her away and made sure she was comfortable when everything around her was getting to be too overwhelming. She…she cared about how she felt. Even though, they’d barely come to know each other. She was strong too! She had a cool technique to teach her and she respected her.
Now, all of that was going to go down the drain. She had to tell her, didn’t she? He wasn’t a girl. He was a boy. A boy cursed to turn into a pretty girl whenever he so much as got lightly splashed with any water that was room temp or colder. It wasn’t fair. He didn’t want to show up here like this to begin with. He didn’t want to trick Akane into caring about him or thinking he was some cute girl with a knack for the arts like she was. It just happened! Now she was going to hate him, and he was going to have to just eat that for however long his old man wanted to squat here. The thought of it made him sick.
He couldn’t just let his new friend go that easily.
He…
He…
He-
“Akane wait!”
The blue-haired girl turned to him and tilted her head quizzically. Wondering why the girl had just shouted after her like that. “What is it Ranma?”
“I-I gotta tell you something. It’s…really important.” Ranma was sweating hard. Was he really gonna tell her now of all times? Was he gonna go through with this stupid idea too? He knew she’d learn about the curse eventually but…what if he still was her friend as a girl? He hated being a girl. At least, that’s what he was supposed to feel, but for the sake of keeping the one and only person in his life who dared to call him her “friend”. Being a girl part-time wouldn’t really kill him, would it?
“I’m a guy Akane!” He shouted a little more loudly than he intended.
Akane’s face screwed up at that, “What? That’s not very funny Ranma I just told you I hate boys. Why would you joke about that when you’re so obviously a girl!”
Ranma stared at the floor. Suddenly the wood was reaallllllyyyy interesting.
“It ain’t a joke Akane. I’m serious, I was born a guy.”
It seemed like a few gears were turning in the youngest Tendo’s head for a bit before her eyes shot wide open in realization, “Oh! You mean you were born a guy but you’re a girl in your head or whatever right? There’s a girl at school like that so I’m not judgy about that or anything. Though you look so much like a girl I don’t know why you felt like you had to tell me that.” She stared at Ranma with a confused look that he couldn’t make heads or tails of.
Girl’s that were born guys but wanted to be women? His dad called them perverts, sissies, all those kinds of things. When Ranma was first cursed, the old man was so angry at him the first time he told him he kind of liked being a girl, that he took every opportunity he could to surprise attack and put the hurt on him. Luckily at this age Ranma was already far more skilled than the old fool could ever be. But still, the mental scarring was enough to shake Ranma out of wanting that for himself anymore. He couldn’t be a girl. He had no option but to be the perfect man. Nothing less would do.
He shook his head clear of his thoughts, he needed to properly explain himself to Akane before she got the wrong idea and went opening her mouth to her folks and to his dad! “No, I mean I was cursed to turn into a girl! I- You got some hot water and some cold water I can use?” He decided it was best to show her than to tell her.
Akane was visibly confused as to what he needed that for, “I can go get some real fast? I don’t know why you’re so insistent on this curse thing, but I guess I can hear you out. I promise you don’t need any excuses though. I told you I understand perfectly fi-”
“Just do it!” Ranma accidentally blurted out with more force than he meant, “P-please?” she added softly.
Akane nodded before going out to grab what Ranma requested.
On the way there Akane was met with her father and a new, strange man. The panda was no longer here? She’d have to ask where it went whenever Ranma told her whatever it is she wanted to tell her she guessed. She didn’t bother with them and just grabbed what she needed.
Bringing back a cool water bottle and a tea kettle with warm water ready and waiting to be used to the dojo. Ranma looked relieved, yet the most stressed she’d seen her all night.
“Thanks.”
Ranma took the kettle and poured the contents over his head. He could feel the transformation happen. His height increased, his voice got a little deeper, his shoulders broader, his chest smaller but wider, his muscles more pronounced. He was all man again and that sense of wrongness deep in his stomach was back too. He ignored it though, he had to make sure Akane knew what was really happening here.
Akane was stunned, I mean how the hell was she meant to respond to this? Her new friend that was a girl, just transformed into a boy! She pointed a shaky finger at him, “You’re- You’re!”
“Ranma Saotome…” He bowed his head to Akane.
A few moments pass in silence before Ranma speaks up again to snap Akane out of her stupor.
“I know you hate guys, but I meant it when I said I’d like ta be friends with you. Nothing more. I’d…” Ranma paused for a bit to steel himself for this next bit, “I’d even be willing ta only hangout with you in my girl form if it made you more comfortable. I don’t know much about being a girl or anything, but I can try my best.” Ranma finished, letting out a breath he didn’t know he was holding.
Akane was still in shock. She heard his request, but all she could think of was the insanity she had just witnessed. Girl form? Guy form? Magic curse? It all sounded way crazier than the crazy she was used to here in Nerima. But here she was, standing in front of the all too real proof that magic was real!
“I-If the curse changes you into a girl, then doesn’t that mean you hate being a girl or something? That’s how curses work right?” she asked, still stuck.
Ranma shook his head.
“That ain’t how it works. Me and my pop fell into these cursed springs in China see? He fell into the Spring of Drowned Panda so that’s why he turns into that big panda you all saw me come here with. I fell into Spring of Drowned Girl. So…” He trailed off splashing himself with the cold water to prove a point.
“And you’re willing to just…stay in your cursed form for me? Why? I know for damn sure I wouldn’t be okay living as a guy for some guy I just met.” Akane was genuinely confused as to why anyone would just let a magic curse run free for the sake of being friends.
Ranma rubbed the back of his head sheepishly, playing with his now pink pigtail. This was a lot more emotional vulnerability than he usually allowed himself after all.
“Well, I never had the chance to have many friends growing up. Traveling the world ain’t as exciting as you think when you spend so many nights alone. You never have any friends, and when you do, they don’t last very long.” Ranma’s smile was a somber one as he spoke, eyes fixated on the floor, and Akane could almost swear she could see tears prickling at the, once again, pink-haired girl's eyes.
“I know it’s likely pop will have us up and outta here sometime soon anyway, so I wanted to make at least one friend again before that happens. Least then, I can say it wasn’t all for nothing.”
Akane seemed to be weighing her options here. She wanted to scream. Tell him off for lying to her and then trying to use magic to fix his mistakes, but…he seemed so genuine. She had a hunch she wouldn’t be able to get this out of him very often. If she closed her heart off to him here, the poor jerk would just shut himself out. She didn’t know why, but the thought of that same smiling pink-haired girl from earlier closing her heart off to everyone around her in fear of rejection for something she has no control over made her feel bad.
So, she decided.
“Okay, we can try it then.”
Ranma looked up at her confusedly.
“We can try being friends. You have to be in girl form when we hang out though, otherwise I’ll freak out. Got it?" she sighed putting a hand to her forehead.
"I’ll…show you the ropes on girlhood so you can blend in a little better too.” She gave a half smile at her new friend as she watched her begin to relax.
Ranma let a small smile creep its way onto his face at the success of his little plan.
“Y-yeah! Totally! Ranma Saotome is always game for a challenge! Even one like this! I’ll learn the ropes just fine!” He let out a nervous boisterous laugh in an attempt to sell his confidence, but in reality, he was so screwed. How the hell was he supposed to run this by his old man?
“Hey, I couldn’t bear the thought of that Tendo girl hating me forever, so I agreed to be a girl! Cool? Cool!”
Hell no! The panda wouldn’t let him hear the end of how “The curse was affecting him,” and “You’ve become soft boy!” Whatever though, he already promised Akane, and Ranma Saotome never goes back on his word. He’d just have to keep it secret from the old bastard. That means…
“Hey Akane, one more thing.”
The youngest Tendo tilted her head at him, “What now?” She asked a little irritable. He understood why. He couldn’t exactly imagine she was thrilled with the arrangement. He’s surprised she agreed at all if he’s being honest here.
“Just…”
He could feel his arms tense as he balled his fists up tight.
“We can’t tell my pop about this. He’s all weird about anythin’ girly. Hell, if not for the Amazons and you I’d probably still be spewin’ crap about how girls can’t fight or somethin’.” He chuckled nervously.
That pissed Akane off. “That right?” she spat out angrily.
“It’s all stupid ta me, but he’s real hung up on that sort of stuff.” Ranma continued.
“And you’re not like that are you? That’s not why you barely touched me at all today during our spar is it!?” Akane got in his face.
Ranma put his hands up defensively, sensing he pissed her off somehow. “It ain’t about that! I just don’t like hittin’ girls okay! Not normally anyway! ‘Sides I eventually recognized you were strong enough to take seriously, didn’t I? I recognize you as a decent martial artist and that’s all that matters.”
Akane took a big deep breath. Still visibly fuming, she responded, “I guess you have a point but still! I can’t believe daddy would associate with someone like that!” She seemed a little calmer now than a second ago, but Ranma still knew he was on thin ice here.
“Believe me, I’d like to know what people see in the old bastard enough to hang around him myself.” He answered.
“Ranma? Akane?” The two martial artist teens snapped their heads towards the source of the sound. It came from the voice of the eldest sister now. Seems like she was looking for the two of them.
“Father is requesting everyone to gather around in the family room. He says that he has something important to tell us.”
Ranma turned to Akane. “I’m sure pop has already told your dad all about what happened. He’s gonna give the full story on how all of this happened and hopefully clear some stuff up. Just remember you can’t say nuthin' about nuthin' unless you want my pop to make a huge scene over everything got it?”
Akane rolled her eyes, “I’m not some loudmouthed idiot Ranma, I can keep a secret or two.” She followed behind Kasumi. Ranma sighed and muttered under his breath as he followed behind them both at a distance.
This was gonna be a loooooong night.
The Tendo household was still as everyone sat around in the family room around the table. A bald, equally rotund man donning a white Gi now taking the place of the once large and rotund panda. This man and Ranma sat on one side of the table staring down the Tendo daughters who sat opposite to them. Soun sat at what could be considered the “head”.
‘This is it,’ Ranma thought to himself. He had already told Akane about his little secret, but the rest of the family was a different story. Who knows how they might react? A boy who turns into a girl? It just ain’t normal!
The sound of the koi prancing in the pond, the soft sounds of everyone in the room inhaling and exhaling, every bead of sweat that dripped down his face and landed on the old worn table.
Ranma could feel his senses kicking into maximum overdrive as his worries got the best of him.
Regardless Ranma knew he had to keep calm. If they ended up back on the road so be it. It’d suck to have to leave Akane after he just went through all that trouble but still, he could manage fine enough. He always has.
The Saotome Patriarch spoke.
“I am Genma Saotome. Father of Ranma Saotome and the current master of the Saotome School of Anything Goes Martial Arts. Apologies.” His deep voice was low and respectable, something Ranma couldn’t help but chuckle at. His father raised his hand and smacked him in the back of his head for his disrespect.
“Ow! What the hell you’d go and do that for pop!” He argued in a shrill voice.
Genma simply ignored his son and continued, “Truth of the matter is, Ranma and I have to come clean about a terrible affliction we both suffer.”
The oldest daughter let out a small gasp, “Are you both okay?” she questioned.
The old man answered her straight up, “Physically? Of course. Our bodies have been honed through our arduous training journey; it takes more than one simple Chinese curse to wear down our bodies. However, our spirits are not.”
Genma went on to recount the tale of Jusenkyo. The guide, Ranma’s cheap shot that caused Genma to fall first (Ranma let it be known he bested his old man fair and square), Ranma getting knocked into a spring, and the resulting transformations that occurred as a result of the two falling into the cursed springs.
As Genma wrapped the story up, Soun was seen wiping away the stream of tears flowing down his own face.
“The trials and tribulations of a true martial artist are truly of a class unbeknownst to anyone else. I am sorry you two had to endure such hardship.” He clutched his fist and spoke with such a dramatic flair Ranma couldn’t help but roll his eyes.
“It ain’t the worst thing in the world y’know? We can change back as long as we can get some hot water,” he informed everyone.
The middle sister seemed to be hanging on every word finding the whole thing to be interesting, proposing the two demonstrate the curse for them if they claim it to be real.
So, Genma was splashed and turned back into a panda for all to observe and gawk at. Ranma was already transformed, and everyone had more than enough time to get a gooooood look at her. Hell, some even had a nice little feel. (He was still upset with the middle child for her blatant disregard for his boundaries. What was she? A boy?) Soon enough, the kettle went off signaling the water was boiling and ready to turn the two back into their birth forms.
Soun took the kettle, “I see, so cold water turns you into a panda,” he poured the scorching hot water on his dear friend’s head leaving him all red, “and hot water turns you back into a man.”
“The water needn’t be scalding Tendo.” Genma chided him.
He moved to Ranma next, “Cold water turns you into a young woman,” he moved to pour the water on Ranma, but he jumped out of the way.
“Hot water not sizzling!” He shot at him.
Soun perked up, a grin plastered all over his face now.
“It truly is an interesting ordeal you two have found yourself in old friend,” Soun walked over to the Saotome duo putting his hands on the two men’s shoulders with glee, “But not a problem in the slightest!” he continued, both hands now on Ranma’s shoulders.
He began to introduce his daughters,
“Akane, the youngest. Age 16.
Nabiki. Age 17.
And Kasumi, the oldest. Age 19.”
He held out his hand towards his daughters showing them off to the Saotome heir. “Pick any one of them you’d like to be your fiancée son.”
Almost immediately the other two sisters shoved Akane off to him.
“I say Akane is the perfect fit!” exclaimed Nabiki with a little too much enthusiasm for Ranma’s liking.
“I agree!” Kasumi seemed just as happy about it.
Kind of hurt Ranma’s pride a little bit to be passed down because nobody wanted him, but he didn’t want to be married either!
Neither did the youngest girl.
“Wha- Me!? What makes me so perfect, huh!?” she cried out.
“Well, you do hate guys!” Nabiki started.
“And Ranma’s half-girl!” Continued Kasumi.
“Seems perfect to me!” They both gleefully finished patting their baby sister on the back with congratulations.
“Don’t I get any say in this?” Ranma spoke up.
“I don’t wanna marry some tomboy I just met not even an hour ago! “
“Oh well sorry this tomboy isn’t suited for your taste pervert!”
“Who you callin’ a pervert you brick!”
“The girly-boy running around with double d’s that’s who!”
“You think I’m like this by choice!?”
“Seems like you like it just fine!”
The two fathers laughed with glee.
“See Saotome, they’re already getting along like a married couple!” Soun cheered.
“Yes Tendo, I think they make a fine match!” Genma practically howled.
Akane and Ranma slammed their hands on the table, “We are not!” They turned back towards each other growling in frustration.
Ranma let out a loud sigh, deflating as he put his hands in his pockets.
“Whatever, I don’t have to deal with this.” He started towards the door only for his father to stop him.
“Ranma! Where are you going!” He called after him.
“Back to China you old bastard! For someone so upset about his sissy son, you sure ain’t trying to help me become all man again!” He spat at him.
“How dare you talk back to your father boy!” Genma argued back.
“Why should I have to marry one of them when none of ‘em even want anything to do with me in the first place! Just look at ‘em pop! Handing me off like some kinda hand me down.” Ranma was feeling agitated beyond belief right now.
He knew he probably shouldn’t take it there, but he was angry, embarrassed, but most importantly. He was hurt. Hurt that he believed he could trust Akane to be his friend, just for it turn out that she couldn’t stand him. She thought he was a “pervert” and a, God-forbid, girly-boy.
“As for you Akane! It ain’t very nice to let that little ugly green monster rear its head just cause I’m built better than you are you walking pile of bricks!” He spat.
Akane could almost hear the vein pop in her head as she blacked out, grabbing the table and slamming it on top of Ranma for having the gall to turn his back to her after calling her unattractive! That jerk!
Just like that Ranma was out like a light.
