“Lumine, don't give that to him!” Aether huffed out as Lumine held out a saurian cracker to the little Tepetlisaur between them. The little one let out a happy roar, biting the cracker from the female's hand.
“Aw but he likes them!” She replied, kicking her feet over the ledge they sat on. “See? He's happy!”
“Just because he likes it doesn't mean he should have them. He should stick to a natural diet.” Lumine rolled her eyes.
“You need to lighten up, let him enjoy himself!” She withdrew another Saurian cracker and popped it in her mouth.
“Well he needs to be alive and healthy to enjoy himself!”
“One cracker won't kill him!”
“Then STOP giving him more! How many has he had already? Ten?”
“He's had THREE! I'm not over indulging him, Aether!” The Tepetlisaur looked back and forth between the twins.
“That's three more than he should have! They aren't good for him!”
“But they make him HAPPY, Aether!”
“It's not about happiness! It's about what's best for them! If you can't understand that, you'll be a terrible mother!” In an instant, Aether shut his mouth, eyes wide as he looked at his sister. Lumine stared at him in shock, clearly hurt by his words as she turned away. “Wait, Lumi- I didn’t mean it-!” The girl sniffled, but said nothing as tears began to fill her eyes.
“Paimon got the snacks from- Wait… What happened?” She looked between the twins, setting the cookies down on the ground.
“I…I said something mean to Lumine… I’m sorry, sister…” Lumine raised her hand up to wipe at her tears.
“What did you say to her?” Paimon asked as she moved closer to hug the female in white.
“I-I said she’ll be a terrible mother. I know I shouldn’t have!” Paimon huffed out at him. “We were arguing because she gave this little guy some crackers but he really shouldn’t be having them and-”
“What? But these crackers are delicious! Paimon sees people give these to their saurians all the time too!” The little tepetlisaur climbed into Lumine’s lap, standing on her thighs and resting his claws on her breasts as he nuzzled into the crook of her neck in an attempt to comfort her.
“Lu-Lumine-! I'm sorry, I… Well what do I know? I don't have any kids!” She sniffled and hugged the little saurian In her lap.
“Ah-! Even if you're a little soft, you got Childe to help you out! Paimon's seen him with Teucer, he might spoil him a lot, but he's REALLY good at making kids understand what they did wrong. Paimon is sure you'll make great parents together!” She looked around as Lumine wiped her eyes again, tears slowly drying. “Huh, is Childe not here?”
“No, he went to the abyss to meet Skirk.” Aether answered as he leaned over to rub his sister's back comfortingly.
“I…I'm sorry, I'm f-fine.” She cleared the rest of the tears from her eyes.
“Are you sure…?” Aether scooted closer, wrapping his arm around her. “I shouldn’t have said that, I’m sorry.”
“No, it’s fine, I swear. It just stings because… Ajax and I are trying and-”
“Wait, really?! I’m going to be an uncle?!”
“Well… At some point. We only just started trying, I don’t know how long it’ll take.” Aether squeezed her tighter.
“I’m just happy that I’ll be an uncle soon!”
“Don’t forget Paimon! She’ll be here for you too!” She leaned down and hugged the twins. “She loves you both too!”
“Aw, we love you too, Paimon!” Lumine smiled at the pixie as Aether pulled her closer.
“You’re the best!”
