Ancients, Gods and Demons

Summary:

Tyrone wakes up with a hangover confused because he didn't remember having anything with Yggdrasil in it. He is greeted by something more powerful than him making pancakes.

Notes:

Stuck in my brainrot of my favorite godlike beings meeting each other. This is all I got for an actual thing so far, but I do want to eventually write out them making a D&D&MD game that when they stop being around humans devolves into them making a pocket dimension all together to drop random heroes in for "lessons".

Work Text:

Tyrone groaned from the couch, arm slung over his face as he noticed the signs of a hangover.

Wait what?

“Ah, you’re awake, that’s good. There’s water on the table in front of you as well as some tea that’ll help that headache.” A voice from vaguely to his left greeted him. He gently moved his arm from his face and peeked around, slowly sitting upright and reached for the glass of water. He gladly took a sip.

Sitting in a chair at the counter in the kitchen was his classmate Danny.

This raised more questions. To go along with how he got drunk at a normal college party. Never mind that, how did he get a hangover?

“You’ll want to drink that tea, trust me, it’ll clear your head real quick.” Danny prompted again.

Tyrone reached for the mug and sniffed it. It was vaguely sweet and floral smelling, though with the slight smoky herbal scent of magic around it. Green magic specifically, healing magic. He took a sip and began to blink away the fog that had gripped his mind since he awoke.

“What on earth was in that punch?” He asked.

Danny looked sheepish. “Actually, it was the shots you caught me and my friends doing.” He leveled him with a curious look. “Though, they shouldn’t  have affected you like it did. At least, not if you were human.”

Tyrone could hear a buzzing as the world seemed to freeze for a moment. He blinked and his eyes and smile were now demonic.

“And what are you gonna do about that?”

Danny shrugged. “Nothing if you’re not gonna hurt anyone.” He blinked and his eyes now glowed acid green and a crown floated over his head. “I mean, I’m one to talk, I’m also not human, not entirely anyway.”

Alcor debated his next move. It sounded like this being didn’t want any harm to come to the humans, which he would be fine with. He also sounded more curious than prying.

“So what are you?” Alcor asked.

“King of Ghosts, Ancient of Space and God of Protection of the Infinite Realms. Name is Phantom.” Danny held out a hand, the eyes and crown fading from view.

Alcor glanced at his hand before shaking it. “Alcor the Dreambender, demon.”

Danny smiled. “I remember reading some about you, oh Sam is gonna be psyched once she gets back from her run.” He stood and went around the counter. “Tucker should be waking up shortly, I’m gonna get started on breakfast. Is there anything your current form can’t have?”

Tyrone took the stool Danny was just in. “Nah, anything’s good, but the sweeter the better.”

Danny laughed. “Raspberry chocolate chip pancakes it is then.” He bustled about the kitchen, setting up two trays of maple bacon and a small tray of carrot bacon. He placed the two trays of maple bacon in the oven and the small tray of the vegan alternative in the toaster oven on the counter. He set to making the pancakes and started talking.

“So, What’s Alcor doing pretending to be a college student?”

He pondered this for a moment before deciding to be honest. “Just…wanted to be around humans again I guess.” He took a sip of the tea and could feel his mind getting clearer. “Man, whatever’s in this is great, I’ll need to get some before my next party. Also, please call me Tyrone while in this form.”

“Okay Tyrone, and, yeah that’s fair, that’s kinda what we’re doing here too. We got a four-year break from duties and this universe’s Earth seemed fun to explore. Funny that we ended up in the same place huh?” Danny smiled at him while depositing pancakes on the plate in front of Tyrone.

“Wait, ‘what we’re doing here’? You’re not the only one?” He dove into the pancakes after drizzling them in too much syrup.

“Yeah, Sam and Tucker are also magical. We’re intrinsically tied to the space between the multiverses because I rule them and they are my partners and two of my advisors. They are Gods of the Infinite Realms. I know that you are old by the timing of this place, a couple millenia at this point? I assure you, we are much older and we more than earned our titles.”

Alcor what equal parts amused and fearful. He had heard of Ancients, they’re more myth to demons than demons were to humanity when he was human. Multiversal beings who ascended godhood and took on aspects of the universe. It’d been a while since he’d been threatened by something stronger than him. It made him want to befriend the being in front of him and his partners. “I honestly thought Ancients were bedtime stories to scare little demons to bed. Pleased to meet you and thank you for your hospitality.”

Danny turned to him with a bright smile, deposited more pancakes and also placed a can of whipped cream on the counter in front of Tyrone. “No problem.” He turned back to take the bacon out of the oven just as a door opened down the hall and a bleary eyed Tucker shuffled his way to the seat next to Tyrone. He placed his cheek on the countertop and groaned. Danny plucked a cup from the counter next to him and placed it in front of Tucker’s face.

“Thanks babe.” He grunted as he wrapped his fingers around the handle and sat up properly to drink. “So, what’s your deal? I think I heard Danny explain ours when I woke up.” He asked turning to Tyrone.

“Alcor the Dreambender at your service. And you’re the God of Civilization and Knowledge right?”

“Yup” He popped the ‘p’ at the end of the word, he flashed his eyes blue and a golden headdress appeared over his head. “Pharaoh, Ruler of New Ancient Egypt and King’s Consort at your service.” He waved with his free hand. “If I timed my alarm correctly we can expect Sam to walk in the door in three, two, one-”

The front door opened and Sam walked in, taking her shoes off at the door and ducking into their bedroom to deposit her mp3 player. She popped back out shortly after. “So, was I right? Are you a demon?”

Tyrone huffed. “Yep, Alcor the Dreambender.” He held out a hand to her and she smiled with all teeth. She slapped her hand into his palm and her eyes glowed purple and vines appeared twirled around her arms and hair. “Nightshade, Goddess of Life and Magic, Princess of the Green and King’s Consort. You in a good period?” She asked, still gripping his hand.

Alcor nodded quickly until she let go of his hand. Her smile softened. “That’s good, I’m glad.” Her smile sharpened again. “So, are you planning on pulling any pranks on the teachers at any point? Because I’m so in.”

“If you call me Tyrone whenever I’m in this form, then sure I will.” His responding smile matched hers and the four of them began planning.
