“He just fell back asleep,” whispered Colin, as he met Penelope's gaze through bleary eyes. “He’s been screaming for an hour straight.”
A logical response would have been pity. But as she watched her husband soothing their baby into a deep sleep, his own eyes bleary, his shirt soaked through with Elliot's tears and spit-up, she felt something entirely unlike pity. She felt a stirring in her loins; butterflies in her womb. Any other man would have left the screaming baby to a wet nurse, closed the door, and slept. But Colin… Colin took fatherhood very seriously. And it was turning her on.
