Work Text:
A morning person- That’s what he would commonly be called, as he always rose with the sun. The thought of wasting time repulsed him. Time was precious. Every moment must be filled with productivity and hard work or else you’ll be left behind.
But on days like this, he didn’t mind lying in bed for just a little while.
It was a rare opportunity that the three of them would have a day off together. Between a spike in the number of cases and training new interns at Gyaxa, things had been hectic.
But now, here they lay- the only sound in the room being the slow, steady breaths and an occasional mumble of the two men he loved most.
The three of them were tangled together, Clay tucked contentedly in the middle as always, and Klaviers arm swung around him, his fingertips barely making contact with Apollo's side. He shifted slightly and laced their fingers together.
Someone hadn’t done a very good job of shutting the curtains, as beams of pale yellow sunlight slipped through the gap in the fabric and onto their resting forms. It was warm on his skin.
The blanked had pooled at their feet, kicked away most likely by Clay who was easily overheated by Klaviers cover hogging tendencies. There had been many times when Apollo would wake in pitch darkness, fumbling around for an edge of the blanket to rip from the tall man’s grasp.
Right now, He didn’t mind. Clay was warm, and his heart felt warmer.
How did he end up here? If someone had told him he would be sharing a bed with his best friend and his courtroom rival, watching their chests rise and fall peacefully as early morning sunlight danced across planes of dark and freckled skin, he would have told them they were nuts.
Never did he think he would be so fortunate. Never did he think he could share such close orbit with the moon and stars themselves.
Celestial beings who shine much brighter than they know.
Today, he would spend his precious morning hours with them, shining in their place.
Morning had always been the best time for Apollo Justice, because morning was the only time the Sun could shine as bright as he did when he was with them.
