There's a familiar distinctiveness to his muzzy enunciation; it's the sound of a problem that disturbs him, that he doesn't have answers for; one that's been eating him when he ought to be asleep.
To be fair, it's kept Spirit up too. Leading up to this mission, he'd spent nights pacing his apartment, reconciling the fractured trust they've been mending with the (in their case, literal) wounds of teenage betrayal. This would be the first time they roomed together since they were partners in school.
