Summary
As one of the most traumatic years of Henry’s life comes to a close, he can at least say his relationship with Alex has never been stronger. They’re living together, enjoying their new engagement in private, and—most importantly—Alex’s health is steadily improving.
But while Alex is moving forward and prepares to return to law school in January, Henry feels stuck. The pressure of keeping the shelters running and his stalled battle for freedom from the Palace is suffocating. And despite Alex’s progress, Henry’s insomnia and nightmares have resurfaced, driven by a constant fear that something will go wrong.
When Henry is summoned back to the UK for Christmas, and he's forced to leave Alex behind, his anxiety spirals out of control.
