Messiah

Summary:

What if, instead of summoning Romulus-Quirinus in the battle with Zeus, they summoned a different Grand Servant? OneShot

Work Text:

-OneShot-

A massive head loomed in the stormy sky, its size dwarfing even the tallest of mountains. Lightning crackled around it, illuminating the battlefield in harsh flashes of light. Zeus, the god of the heavens, had no need for a body—his disembodied head alone radiated overwhelming power. His deep, rumbling voice echoed like thunder across the landscape.

"It seems I have no choice," the god’s voice vibrated through the air, causing the earth beneath to tremble. "Deactivating intelligent life-form conservation function." His tone was calm, almost indifferent, as if humanity's fate was little more than a minor inconvenience.

The sky darkened even more as the limits of his power began to unravel. "Requesting deactivation of Keraunos Final Judgement function limiter... approved. Deactivating anti-planet destruction mechanism limiter. Deactivating anti-solar system annihilation mechanism limiter. Deactivating anti-space-time attack mechanism limiter. Deactivating anti-concept shattering mechanism limiter."

Each phrase sent shockwaves through the battlefield, the very air thickening with his divine energy. He was releasing his full might—power beyond human comprehension.

A sense of dread enveloped the Chaldeans below as the realization hit them like a crashing wave.

"It seems all hope is lost," a voice whispered. "This is the power of a god... the power of Zeus."

The god's eyes, glowing with the fury of a thousand storms, narrowed. "Everything... begone!" he thundered.

The ground erupted as bolts of pure lightning shot from Zeus’ mouth and eyes, obliterating everything in their path. Even Mash Kyrielight, her shield imbued with the power of Aegis, the shield of the gods, struggled beneath the onslaught. Her Ortiz Shield, glowing with divine protection, shook violently as the lightning rained down.

Mash braced herself, her knuckles white as she raised her shield against the overwhelming power. Her arms trembled, the weight of Zeus' might pushing her to the brink. “Is this... the end?” she whispered to herself, the thought sinking into her bones. She knew that even with the aegis power infused into her shield, this was different—this was a god’s full power. Could it hold?

But even as her body threatened to collapse under the pressure, Mash refused to give in. Her eyes steeled with determination. “No,” she whispered, her voice firm. “It’s not over yet.” She planted her feet, raising her shield higher. “We have to keep fighting.”

Ritsuka’s voice broke through her thoughts. "It's okay, Mash. You’re not alone!" He stood by her side, his face resolute despite the overwhelming power before them.

Above them, Zeus continued his merciless declaration. "Preparing to activate Keraunos Final Judgement functionality," he intoned, his voice resonating with finality. "Initiating Final Judgement."

A colossal surge of energy gathered within the god’s head, crackling and sparking with the force of pure annihilation. Lightning coiled around his floating form, growing in intensity as it reached critical mass. This was not an attack—this was the destruction of everything. The final, inescapable judgment of humanity.

"Thank you for your existence, humans. Farewell."

The energy surged forward, a massive bolt of divine lightning aimed directly at the Chaldeans. It was capable of reducing everything to dust, erasing their very existence. It shot forth with terrifying speed, the sky itself splitting apart from the force.

But in the blink of an eye, something intervened. A fist, shining with golden energy, struck Zeus’ head with enough force to make the air ripple. It was Kintoki’s Golden Armor, a towering construct of pure power, delivering a full-force punch to the god’s face.

The lightning scattered for a brief moment, and the massive head of Zeus was thrown slightly off balance. But only for a second.

Zeus' eyes flickered with mild annoyance as he barely registered the attack. “How irritating,” he muttered, swatting the armor aside like it was nothing more than a fly. The force of the god’s retaliation obliterated Kintoki’s armor in an instant, golden fragments scattering into the wind.

Even so, that brief moment of defiance had bought them precious time. Time they desperately needed.

As the pieces of Kintoki’s armor fell to the ground, a final message echoed from within. "Don't underestimate humans." The words were strong and defiant, a final act of resistance before the armor was completely destroyed.

Macarios, slammed his hands on the console. "We’re out of time!" he shouted. "Final summon... Grand Servant summon ready!"

The lights in the command center flickered as the summoning process began. Adele, joined him, her hands flying across the controls. "Grand Summon Article Aetherum... initiating final summon!"

The air around the battlefield hummed with an intense, otherworldly energy. A pulse of power surged through the ground, causing the very atmosphere to vibrate. Then, from the heavens, a blinding light descended, so bright that even Zeus, the god himself, recoiled in shock.

The Chaldeans shielded their eyes from the intensity of the light, the ground beneath them quaking as the light grew in brilliance. "This... this is it!" Macarios shouted, his voice trembling with anticipation. "The Grand Servant has arrived!"

A deafening silence followed as the light intensified, overtaking everything.

A figure descended from the blinding light, standing tall amidst the crackling remnants of Zeus’ earlier lightning attack. His appearance was simple, yet something about him radiated a deep, comforting power. His dark blue hair framed his face, his eyes a striking mix of calm and determination. He wore a school uniform, almost unassuming for the battlefield around him, but the aura that surrounded him was anything but ordinary. His presence was overwhelming, yet welcoming, as if the universe itself had manifested, but with no intention to harm.

This was the last ray of hope—the final card Chaldea had left to play.

The figure’s voice was calm, a beacon of hope amidst the chaos. "You have done well," he said, his words soothing yet filled with a sense of finality. "But worry not... the Messiah is with you."

Mash, Musashi, and Holmes stood dumbfounded, their hearts trembling with both confusion and awe.

"Messiah?" Mash whispered, not quite understanding the meaning, but the word offered an unexpected comfort, like a promise of safety.

Ritsuka, however, was frozen in place, staring at the Grand Servant with wide eyes. His appearance—so ordinary, yet otherworldly—was unlike anything they had expected.

"Is he... a student?" Ritsuka muttered, stunned. The Servant was dressed in a simple school uniform, completely out of place on the battlefield. It was almost surreal, as if someone who walked straight out of a school day had just casually stepped into a war against gods.

The sight only deepened the mystery. This "Messiah" in the form of a student... who exactly was he?

"Who is he?" Musashi murmured, her hand gripping the hilt of her katana tightly, though she felt no need to fight at that moment.

Holmes, his sharp mind racing to understand, furrowed his brow. "Wait... who are you?" he asked, his voice filled with wonder. "You feel... familiar, yet entirely unknown." For the great detective, this was a mystery unlike any he'd encountered.

The figure didn’t respond to Holmes' question. His gaze was fixed, unwavering, on the massive head of Zeus that hovered menacingly in the sky. For a moment, the god and the summoned figure locked eyes, the tension between them palpable.

"I am Zeus," the god declared, his voice booming through the sky, "I am the omnipotent god who controls all creation from the heavens. I will use my omnipotence to incinerate it all! Humans, Servants, hope itself—everything will be eradicated!"

The air crackled with electricity as Zeus’ eyes blazed with fury. Once again, he summoned the full force of his divine lightning, preparing to unleash another devastating strike, one that would annihilate everything in its path.

But before the lightning could be unleashed, something miraculous happened.

Suddenly, 20 Tarot-like cards appeared around the figure, floating in the air like celestial symbols. Each card was inscribed with a Roman numeral, from 0 to XIX, and each one pulsed with power, a power unlike anything the Chaldeans had ever felt before.

Mash gasped, her eyes wide with awe. "What... what are those?!"

Musashi looked equally stunned. "Those aren’t just regular summons… there’s something ancient about them."

The figure raised his hand, and the cards began to glow, each one flaring to life. In an instant, the air around him was filled with powerful beings, each stepping out of their respective Arcana, taking their place at his side. Orpheus Telos, a god of music and life; Surt, the giant of fire and destruction; Scathach, the legendary warrior queen of shadows; Odin, the all-seeing god of wisdom and war; and many others. Dragons, gods, demons, legends—all summoned under his command.

The battlefield was now teeming with these mighty figures, their divine power surging through the atmosphere. Each Persona was a reflection of the cosmos itself, the embodiment of human will, myth, and legend. They stood as the last line of defense between Zeus and the annihilation of everything.

Zeus, unshaken, released his attack. A massive bolt of lightning shot from his head, crackling with enough energy to vaporize planets. It tore through the air, heading straight for the Chaldeans.

But the attack never reached them.

The Fool Arcana—Orpheus Telos—stepped forward, strumming his lyre, and a radiant barrier formed around the group, deflecting the lightning as if it were nothing more than a spark. The sound of music filled the air, harmonizing with the crackling thunder, creating a surreal scene amidst the battlefield.

Mash could barely believe what she was seeing. "He... he stopped Zeus' lightning!" she gasped, awe-struck.

Holmes, though still trying to piece together the mystery, found himself captivated by the display of power. "These beings... they feel like more than just heroic spirits... yet they aren't gods, either."

Without hesitation, the figure—the Messiah—commanded his Personas into battle. One after another, they charged at Zeus’ head with divine fury.

The Chariot Arcana—Thor, the god of thunder—hurled his hammer, Mjolnir, toward Zeus, creating a massive shockwave that collided with the lightning god's own power. The skies roared as the forces of thunder clashed, the battlefield lit with electric fury.

The Magician Arcana—Surt, the fire giant, unleashed a torrent of molten lava, which exploded against Zeus' divine lightning. Fire and electricity danced across the field, creating an apocalyptic storm.

The Hierophant Arcana—Kohryu, the golden dragon of wisdom, coiled through the sky and unleashed a mighty roar, its divine breath surging toward Zeus, threatening to swallow the god in a wave of destructive energy.

Zeus retaliated, launching bolt after bolt of lightning, but each attack was countered by the Persona's combined might.

The Emperor Arcana—Odin, stood firm, his spear Gungnir in hand, directing blasts of divine energy at Zeus. Lightning struck him, but the god of wisdom stood tall, using his immense power to deflect the brunt of the attacks. The storm raged on as the gods themselves clashed.

The Lovers Arcana—Ishtar, summoned her own divine power, raining down celestial light that tore through Zeus' defenses, forcing him to divert more of his energy into countering the unrelenting barrage.

It was a battle of gods, myth, and legend, with lightning tearing the sky and fire scorching the earth, yet the Personas refused to falter. They pressed forward, pushing Zeus to the limit.

Thanatos, the embodiment of death itself, emerged from the Death Arcana, his massive scythe glowing ominously. He sliced through Zeus’ defenses, cutting into the very fabric of the god's essence. "The end has come," his voice whispered as he delivered a fatal blow.

The tide of battle shifted.

Finally, the Star Arcana—Helel, the Morning Star—appeared, shining brighter than the sun itself. His wings spread wide, a figure of absolute brilliance. With a single gesture, he summoned a beam of light that pierced through Zeus’ core, the final, devastating blow.

Zeus roared in agony as his divine form began to crumble, the very essence of his being unraveling. His divine core—the source of his omnipotence—shattered under the relentless assault, breaking into pieces that fell from the sky like dying stars.

The great god of Olympus had fallen.

As the battlefield grew quiet, the divine light from the Persona began to fade. The Messiah, standing amidst the wreckage, gazed up at the remains of Zeus, his expression calm and resolute.

The fight was over.

"Warning. Keraunos Final Judgement functionality has been accessed from the source."

The cold, mechanical voice echoed across the battlefield, and with it, the world seemed to tremble. The very fabric of space shuddered, and then—cracks. Dark, jagged fractures in reality itself began to form, expanding wider and wider until the space above them seemed to split apart.

"What... what's happening?" Mash's voice was filled with dread, her eyes fixated on the widening rift.

From the other side of the crack, a massive eye appeared—so large it dwarfed even the colossal form of Zeus. The eye gazed down upon them, unblinking, its gaze cold, detached, as if it were watching something insignificant. To it, they were nothing more than ants on a distant rock.

The air vibrated with power, a pressure so intense it felt like the world was being crushed under its weight. Then, without warning, the eye discharged a solitary beam of energy, a beam that traveled faster than light itself. It sliced through the battlefield, straight toward the Chaldeans.

"No!" Musashi screamed, drawing her sword, but it was futile. The attack was too fast, too overwhelming.

Before anyone could react, the twenty summoned Personas stepped forward, shielding the Chaldeans with their divine might. Each one stood firm, gods, dragons, legends, and warriors united against the impossible force.

But it wasn’t enough.

One by one, the Persona were obliterated, disintegrating in the face of the overwhelming power from the eye. Orpheus Telos, Surt, Odin, even the mighty Thanatos—all were destroyed in an instant.

"What?" The Master’s voice trembled, shock and despair creeping into their words. "They... they’re gone..."

Holmes, standing rigid, tried to comprehend the sheer magnitude of what had just happened. His mind raced, but for the first time, he found himself speechless. Musashi clenched her fists, her knuckles white, but even she could not hide the growing fear.

Despair was beginning to settle in. The last hope they had—the Personas—were annihilated. It seemed nothing could stand against the being beyond the crack.

And yet, the Grand Servant stood silent. He hadn’t moved. His face was calm, almost tired, as if he had seen this all before. He sighed softly.

"It seems... I must do it again."

The words carried a quiet resolve, and as they echoed through the battlefield, he raised his hand one last time.

"The time has come," he whispered. "Judgment awaits."

The air around him pulsed with energy as the final Arcana card materialized in his hand—Judgment Arcana – Messiah. The card flared to life, and from it emerged a single, radiant figure. Unlike the other Personas, this one was clad in resplendent armor, a halo of light surrounding it as if it carried the weight of salvation itself.

The Grand Servant’s voice, quiet but firm, began a solemn chant:

"In darkness, I stood, the weight of despair upon me.

I walked through death's valley, where hope dared not follow.

But from the abyss, a light was born, a beacon for the lost.

With this light, I defy the fall of man, the death of worlds."

"Messiah, heed my call."

As the chant reached its crescendo, the Messiah Persona raised its hand, and from it, a radiant barrier formed—a barrier so vast and all-encompassing that it stretched far beyond the battlefield, covering not just the Chaldeans, but the world itself. The eye, its malevolent gaze locked onto the Messiah, fired once more, unleashing a torrent of destruction unlike anything seen before.

But the barrier held.

The solitary beam that had destroyed the twenty Personas and threatened to obliterate the planet was stopped cold. The light of the Messiah burned bright, its power echoing across time and space. This was no mere shield—it was a reenactment of a moment long past, when the Grand Servant had stood between Nyx and the world, saving humanity from eternal night.

Now, once again, he stood as the barrier between annihilation and survival.

The beam of energy collided with the shield, but it could not pierce it. The light of the Messiah burned brighter, and brighter still, until finally, the eye—the malevolent force from beyond the crack—began to recoil. It faltered, unable to break through the wall of salvation.

And then, in a final burst of brilliance, the eye was gone. The cracks in space sealed, and the world was still once more.

"It’s... over?" Mash whispered, her voice trembling with disbelief.

Musashi exhaled, her shoulders relaxing as the weight of despair lifted. "We... survived..."

Holmes, still processing what had happened, glanced around in silence, while it was the Master who finally spoke, their voice trembling with a mix of disbelief and awe.

"He did it... he saved us all."

The weight of those words hung in the air, as though even they struggled to grasp the enormity of what had just occurred.

But as they looked toward the figure who had saved them, they saw nothing. The Grand Servant was gone, vanished into the same light that had summoned him.

For a moment, silence reigned.

"Who was he...?" Musashi asked quietly, her voice soft and thoughtful. "Messiah... is that his true name?"

Holmes adjusted his coat, his eyes narrowing as he gazed at the now-empty space where the Grand Servant had stood. "It seems that, for now, his identity remains a mystery. But one thing is clear..." He paused, a rare smile creeping onto his face. "He was our savior."

As the light of the battlefield began to dim, the Chaldeans stood in the aftermath of what should have been certain annihilation. The world was safe, for now, and the final words of the Grand Servant lingered in the air.

"The Messiah is with you."
