    Summary

So, we have this: a boy with a sigil in his fingertips and a pocketful of spells, standing in front of a mirror. He smiles, and he uses a photograph as a reference picture. “My name is William Kaplan,” he practises, and the lie rots away at his teeth, his innards.

He’s a boy that hears words in the silences, a boy who pretends and smiles and practises. Minds shimmer on the surface – visible, audible things. He was a twin (William Kaplan was not).

There is another boy, who lives inside a different boy’s skin. Let us not forget him. Tommy Maximoff existed. He lived and loved and stole a body to live in. He’s a boy that runs faster than the speed of light, a boy who lives honestly and sadly and quietly. He was a twin (Thomas Trent was not).
