Chapter Text
Flames waltz wildly, engulfing its audience with its laced dress.
But, unlike humans, it is so generous. So it shares its blaze with everything touched by its pirouette.
However, nothing could ever reject its generosity, not even a single soul could refuse its selfless offer.
Thus, under the moonlight’s gentle light, flames light up the hours of darkness with its waltz.
..
…
Within seas of flames, a blue haired girl stands up straight. Her eyes filled with horror as she gazed at the blazes surrounding her.
Her mouth utters, “What have… I done?” while her mind knows exactly the answer to that question.
Why did she do that? You may ask. But the answer was simple.
Because she can’t handle the truth.
Because she doesn't want to face the consequences of her own actions.
Because she … is a coward.
…
That girl falls to her knees as her body shakes in terror.
This isn’t how things were supposed to be, this isn’t what I want! She thinks to herself.
Oh, poor grievous lady, no matter how much you weep, things won’t return to how they were before. Tears would not ever escort you to past.
Oh, weeping girl, what a mess you are. Tears endlessly rolling down your face, showing how pathetic you were.
As she turns her head up, she asks the mixed atmosphere of hotness and coldness of the night, “What have I done?”
The night did not answer, and so did the seas of flames.
… But
An echoing celestial voice did.
“Only you know the answer, don't you?” It replied and the blue haired girl shuddered as that voice echoed in her ears.
“W-who are you?!” She panicked, hyperventilating as she turned around to search for an answer. “... What are you…? What do you mean?”
The voice was silent at the time she needed it the most.
“Please, tell me who you are!” She begged, but from her tone, that was not the question she meant to ask. “... No, whoever you are, please … help me”
There are six questions to ask, what, when, who, when, where, why, and how. She has asked only two of it. But right now, she asks none of it, since she only desires one thing, salvation. But the flames don’t tell her that she won't receive it any time soon.
…
Seconds passed by and that voice stayed silent, not showing any sign of returning.
… Wait, no.
A blinding light shines around that weeping girl, chaining her up into the ground. The next thing she knew was that she fainted and the light surrounding her took her to somewhere far away by making her disappear from that burning land.

Sight of a hall of mirrors was the first thing that greets her upon opening her eyes.
“Where … am I?” Was the first question she asked upon waking up.
Her whole body felt weak. Was this because of that light's power? Who knows.
That echoing voice speaks again in a majestic tone.
“Gaze into the mirror.” That sentence echoes throughout the hall of mirrors, reflecting from a mirror to another again and again.
The blue haired girl obeyed out of confusion and curiosity, she walked up to the nearest mirror and gazed at it. But she’s met with such a haunting sight, one which would never leave her mind for eternity.
In that mirror, she saw the face of a beast she despised deeply. But this time, she really meant it, not as a metaphor.
In that mirror, she saw her face. But this time, she was truly terrified of it.
Beastly razor-sharp horns have grown on her head. Jagged scars painted in deep black on her right cheek. Now, she no longer recognize her own reflection. No, this can’t be her, no no no.
“WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY THIS?!” She roared in fury, “ANSWER ME!”
Yet she only received silence as her response.
Drowned by rage, she smashed the mirror in front of her only to find she barely escaped her own reflections, remembering she was trapped in a labyrinth of mirrors.
“Please, stop!” The voice returned, it is now filled with fear and worry. “This is supposed to become your new habitat …”
“Habitat?! Oh, so now you're treating me as a beast too, just like these damned mirrors?” That beast girl shouted. “Ohh, what if I smash this habitat into pieces!?”
“Don’t do it! For your own sake …” That majestic voice now begs in a whisper. “I mean, habitat as a place you would call home, your own home.”
But anger has clouded her mind. There’s no turning back.
The blue haired girl viciously shattered each and every mirror she saw.
There’s no turning back.
In other words, she had to face her consequences.
