Work Text:
Hunter wished he enjoyed coven head meetings.
At least he was wearing his mask, so no one could see him cringe as the heat of his own wet blood began sliding down his torso under his bandages and armor. Uncle would be so annoyed at having to replace yet another shirt.
Don’t misunderstand- the blood under his uniform did little to hinder his meeting leadership. Of course, he was prepared and motivated to ensure meeting productivity, but he couldn’t help but have mixed feelings about them.
He wanted to impress the coven heads and he wanted to impress his uncle even more, but he couldn’t help but feel more and more discouraged each time someone put him down for being a “brat” or a “nepo baby” (not that Hunter would dare tell anyone as much).
“-and that is why I think that Alador is a complete hack.”
Hunter silently cursed. At least Darius hadn’t been saying anything important… hopefully.
“… Right. Thank you for your report, Darius.” Hunter turned his attention to The Healing Coven head. “Hettie, what are your updates from The Healing Coven?”
But as she began to speak, her words were drowned by a growing ringing in his ears. He clenched his fists as he grew lightheaded.
No, he had a task to complete, he could go pass out somewhere once he’d done his job.
