Me and The Beautiful Vampire Huntress

Summary:

Not too long ago my career as a vampire huntress began. It was my duty to protect people from the merciless hands of these nocturnal creatures that lurked in the dark.

One day however, i got assigned to a paired mission, much to my honest surprise. And lucky me, because i got paired with the most beautiful woman that i've ever laid eyes on.

Notes:

This is the first time i've ever written a "x Reader" type of fic, so do not be surprised if it's not good.

Also, the other two chapters will be posted irregularly, so for now i can't say when exactly i'll drop them.

Chapter 1: Introduction

Chapter Text

---

There i was. Coming out of the building where i officially got my license as a vampire hunter. I knew damn well what i was getting into when i applied for this job, and i knew that i was going to be serious when i get sent to my first mission.

For a while i was aware of the mysterious existence of these nocturnal creatures known as vampires. These bloodsucking bastards that could easily take away your life if they wanted to. How they would effortlessly take advantage of human beings and ruin their lives for their own personal sake. It honestly irritated me. Which is why i applied for this job.

To clean the towns and cities off of these blood covered parasites.

---

The first week on the job, i did pretty good. I managed to kill several vampires that at first seemed a little difficult to deal with, but with a little thought and some strategy, it actually turned out to be pretty easy. And also i got paid well. I knew that the salary for the vampire hunters was great, but i didn't expect it to be that great when it was handed out to me. It gave me such a boost of confidence.

Today i was told that me and some other newly licensed hunters would be assigned to pair up with a little more experienced hunters. The reason why was because the places we would be sent to, had some tougher bloodsuckers, that were apparently too difficult to kill by one person only, experienced or not.

I accepted this like a challenge. Because i knew that sometimes life would throw you some difficult times, which i wanted to not avoid at any cost. I wanted to experience a difficult situation, so i could be ready for an even difficultier situation later in life.

But first i had to learn who the person i was going to get paired with was. That was, in my opinion, an important part of this career. To get to know your coworkers better, so there won't be any problems in the future.

---

I went to the main room, where my coworkers would wait for their partners. A lot of chairs and tables were set up there, so nobody would get tired from waiting too long. And the windows had stained glass, shaped in all sorts of bright, colourful and different patterns.

I looked around to see if there was anyone else in the room. And there was, fortunately. Two girls, probably a little older than me, were sitting at one of the tables that were closer to the exit door. I took a breath, walking up to them.

"Hello," the two immediately noticed me, turning around to look at me, "good evening! Just wanted to know when we'll meet our assigned partners for the mission?"

"Ah, that was half an hour ago. The rest have already left to go hunt." the first girl said, while the second remained quiet. "We're assigned together, so don't you worry about us."

"Oh." I would be lying if i said that i wasn't feeling awkward after this small conversation. Just now finding out that i was late? How did i even allow this to happen? I thought that from now on i would act more serious and not take things lightly, but here i was. "Thanks." i said to the girls flatly, and walked in the opposite direction.

As i walked around, i admired all the details of the crafting of the walls, pillars and windows of the building. It was a rather old building, probably over 100 years old, which could explain why it looked so magnificent, and oddly nostalgic. The wall and window interior kind of reminded me of a church. Which also was to be expected of such building, since the destruction of vampire kind had some religious elements tied to it.

I sighed as i continued to wander around. Then i decided it would be best if i leave, since my assigned partner probably wasn't going to show up. The heels of my shoes clicked, their sound echoing. I looked up, realising that the two girls were already gone. Probably on their way to their own assigned mission.

"..."

Suddenly i noticed another unfamiliar face in the background. It was a person that apparently i haven't noticed earlier. I gasped voicelessly when they looked back at me. It was a woman, who looked obviously older than me. I assumed by.. three to four years minimum.

"Good evening," the woman said to me, "i'm assuming you're [Reader], correct?"

Her voice had this specific mature tone to it. And such calmness, mixed with formality.

"..Uh, yes." i replied, slightly bowing my head. "My name is indeed [Reader], ma'am." Due to the woman appearing much older than me, i used a rather polite term for her out of habit. I saw her vaguely smiling at me as i threw a quick glance at her face.

"Aha, no need with the over formality, dear." She pushed up her glasses, as her smile grew less vague. "My name is Yuu Kurokiri. I hope our work together will be successful."

My eyes tracked her as she got up from her chair. My expression changed mildly to a shocked one when i saw how tall that woman really was. She was practically towering over me. I was a domestic cat compared to her, a mountain lion.

Her hand stretched over to me, waiting for me to shake it. I dumbfoundly looked at her hand without doing anything for a hot second, before coming back to my senses and i shook it. With that, we headed out of the building right to out assigned place.

Officially, i became an acquaintance with the still unknown vampire huntress, Yuu Kurokiri.
