Summary
The house is blissfully quiet when he closes the door behind him, and Joel sighs in relief. The wedding had taken its toll on him, and his head was pounding- though, if he’s being truthful, the sheer amount of whiskey he’d been drinking all day probably had something to do with it too.
He’s making himself a large glass of whiskey at the bar when he hears the creak of a door, and then- of all people- Tess herself walks out of the downstairs bathroom. She stops short at the sight of him, blinking, and just stands there, frozen.
