Chapter Text
It starts innocently enough, one rainy day in the Tenma household. It wasn’t uncommon back then for Saki and Tsukasa to convince their mother to cut Touya’s piano lessons short in order to focus on the much more important life lessons, such as watching every Barbie movie and picking which one is the best (it is a lifelong choice that must be made in childhood, lest the emotional connection that leads to all great debates of today not form). Now, the vow made that day was not, in fact, born of the Barbie franchise, but some other nondescript fairytale movie that was most likely lost to time.
You see, in that movie, there was a darling princess, loved by all with suitors rushing and competing to soothe any minuscule pain. Now, with so many suitors and only one princess, not everyone could be satisfied; Thus the king, wise as he was, proposed a yearly game to win over the princess. A series of challenges, and a fluctuating point system would measure the contestants worthiness, with whomever scoring the highest getting the prize of a singular date with the princess.
Young Touya and Saki hadn’t been as enthusiastic as a Young Tsukasa while watching this film in all actuality, however, they did come to a realization. Tsukasa, as dedicated an older brother as he is, resembled that kindhearted princess. The one with many, many suitors. And so, after the credits rolled the two youngest Tenmas made a pact.
Should anyone even think about courting their older brother, they would need to prove their worth.
