Sonic the Hedgehog—fastest thing alive, hero of Mobius, the blue blur...
Hmm... wait...
Where is he?
Surely Sonic would be speeding around Green Hill or Station Square by now? Maybe even Mystic Ruins? Or one of those other overused zones?
No, the famous blue blur is nowhere to be seen. That’s strange, don’t you think?
Oh... now I remember. Today is the day—the evening, the final minutes—the hedgehog has left before his certain doom. The moment everything the rodent worked so hard for comes crashing down.
It’s the day I will win.
The moment the Eggman Empire rises before his very eyes, showing him how wrong he has been.
I WILL RULE ALL!
The Eggman Empire promises all its citizens a peaceful environment, no illnesses, no injustice in society. Access to education and healthcare for everyone, because we will all be equal under the rule of me, Doctor Eggman. I’m sure you’re asking yourselves: How will the greatest genius of all times achieve such an amazing goal? We, at the reliable Eggman Industries, have developed a machine that can roboticize anyone who wishes to join the Eggman Empire, allowing them to live a happy and fulfilled life.
But our blue hero sees a massive flaw in this dream. The roboticizer will turn everyone into mindless slaves of Robotnik, and he can’t lose his friends to this.

So, as always, Sonic fights.
Sonic is saving the world and his friends from any danger that occurs. This time, he saved them from cyberspace.
Now it’s time to relax, right?

The hedgehog was hungry, tired, and completely exhausted.
The adventure on Starfall Islands had taken a serious toll on him. But... there was still the journey back, flying on the Tornado plane... standing on the wing...

NO DOZING OFF!
Sonic quickly opened his eyes, looking around to see if his friends noticed him dozing off. Thankfully, they didn’t.
Knuckles continued staring stoically ahead on the other wing, and Amy and Tails were quietly chatting and giggling in the cockpit, like siblings. Heh, that’s really nice...
Sonic felt his eyes closing again. He forced himself to stay awake and look around.
It was getting dark, dusk settling in. Oh, that explains the sudden urge to fall asleep on the spot. Well, that, and the countless nights spent fighting alien tech, searching for Chaos Emeralds, running through cyberspace, and battling corruption...
At that moment, Sonic realized with awe that the sunset painted the peaceful waves beneath in the most beautiful colors—orange, violet, blue—with clouds above the ocean like a blossoming flower, and the glowing orange sun straight ahead...
Yeah, Sonic, maybe stop staring at that. It's kinda hurting your eyes.
There was just so much to think about. His friends leaving, Tails feeling useless after the Infinite incident...
But who could blame him? He is still a kid, who had to grow up so fast!
Tails is an amazing kid! Rebuilding the plane, creating fake Chaos Emeralds that allow you to use Chaos Control, stopping Eggman from blowing up Station Square...
His little bro is going to do amazing things on his solo adventures, Sonic is sure of that.
And Knuckles? Will he ever actually leave Angel Island for a while?
Knuckles has dedicated his whole life to being the last guardian, and Sonic respects his decision.
But the echidna does not need to do it alone anymore. Maybe some of them could take shifts watching the Master Emerald while Knuckles is gone, or Tails could invent something to keep the Emerald safe... if Knuckles agrees to it, that is.
Amy will be leaving too. She had grown a lot over the years too, especially after the Chaos incident. She helped the Flicky escape Robotnik, defeated Zero, the green robot that was chasing her in Sonic Adventure, and busted Sonic out of prison with Tails' help. It’s nice to have a friend like her. Sonic knows he can always rely on Amy, no matter what.
But she is a hopeless romantic.
If only this world didn’t put everyone around him, especially his friends, in constant life-threatening situations. But c’est la vie when you’re friends with the fastest hedgehog alive!

Who constantly has to fight for freedom. Is that even freedom at this point?

What’s Sonic going to do after this adventure?
Try not to fall asleep on the wing of a plane in the middle of the ocean, for starters.
And then, Sonic will catch up on the delicious mountain of chilidogs he missed dearly when he gets home.
Seriously, how long can people survive without the most delicious food in the world? … Heh.
