   Summary

   Hapi learned what a crest was here, and that she had one (whether they were awakening something already within her or giving it to her, she wasn't quite sure). That was the reason they kept cutting her and the other kids open, to experiment with and unlock the secrets they carried in their blood, or so Cornelia called them. And apparently Hapi's secrets were some of the most important of them all. That was one of the reasons she was Miss Cornelia's favorite.
