    Summary

After the defeat of the Netherbrain a century ago, Aldelthenn has carefully avoided Baldur's Gate. They split their time between Waterdeep and Evermeet, focus on work, and more or less artfully change the topic anytime Astarion is brought up.
Bound by a promise and their own feelings, they see the monster Astarion has become but won't turn on him.
Astarion has cemented his power in Baldur's Gate and is beginning to look beyond the city's bounds, while enjoying the benefits of his station. His resentment of Aldelthenn's rejection still burns, but so does a vampiric obsession with the person so pivotal in his becoming, and perhaps - if he were to consider such things - a longing for the quiet moments they shared.
As they attempt to negotiate new terms for their relationship, both must decide whether their feelings are worth immortality.

TL;DR: Great writing on AA, thanks Larian, I hate it and I must destroy these feelings. I want Astarion to have more than one chance to get it right and heal. Set a little over a century after game events so I don't have to relive my frustration about True Resurrection not working.
