Work Text:

You don't have to follow me Rahu."
Chief looks up, her gaze meeting to the tall figure that looming over her, casting a shadow in the dim light.
Rahu stood with her arms crossed, her expression as impenetrable as ever, her grey eyes meeting chiefs in a quiet intensity.

Ever since Rahu finished her bloody path of revenge, she had been a constant shadow of Chief - trailing her on every mission and expedition, always a head turn behind.
"It's my duty to oversee your safety. I'm your sinner after all." Rahu replied, her tone indifferent as if she's stating a matter-of-fact. There wasn't any sign of hesitation, no room for debate.

Upon hearing the firm tone of Rahu, a soft sigh escapes Chief's lips under Rahu's unwavering gaze. "That's not what I meant." Chief's voice softened slightly, trying to break through Rahu's resolve.

"You are free Rahu. The shackles don't bind-"

"And what if I'm doing it willingly?" Rahu's voice cuts her words quietly, her voice like a low rumble in the stillness. Her eyes met the Chief's, as if daring her to challenge that statement. Rahu wasn't waiting for an argument, rather for an acceptance.

The Chief's voice faltered, unsure whether to press further or to just let it go. She was lost in a moment, her mouth opening and closing repeatedly. Her eyebrows furrowed as she tried to piece a response, her lips moving in a frustrated silence.

Rahu watches her quietly, a small rare smile tugged at the corner of her lips. It's a small subtle, almost hidden, fond type of smile.

"I understand but-"

"This is where I belong. This is my choice."
Rahu stepped closer, her lips curled into the faintest of smiles, amused by Chief's persistence. "So stop worrying about chaining me. I'm not going anywhere." Her voice is almost like a whisper.

"And you got this don't you?" Rahu's voice was softer now, she gently took Chief's hand in hers, guiding her palms towards her lips.
Her lips brush faintly against Chief's palm, sending a tingling sensation on the mark - the symbol of shackles that bonds them together.

"Even if you don't trust my words..." She murmured quietly, her eyes never faltered.
"....Trust this."

A quiet red light shimmers from the shackles' mark, casting a soft warm glow on them. On the other end of the shackles carries Rahu's unspoken promise of her loyalty and companionship. Her emotions - where she kept them hidden behind a stoic mask, seems to sip through that warmth.

Chief's heart fluttered at the sensation, her palm still tingling from Rahu's quiet reassurance. It wasn't just words or oaths that bond them -it's something much deeper, something unbreakable.

The longer Rahu stayed in that position, her lips still lingering over the shackles, the more Chief felt her composure is sipping.
The emotions convey from the shackles, the fierce loyalty and the quiet affection - sends a flurry of flustered confusion to her heart.
Her cheeks began to warm, her pulses quicken under Rahu's gaze.

"Alright...I..I understand." She stammered as she quickly averted her gaze, hoping to hide that tint of blush that crept up to ger face. She pulled her hand back gently, her finger curled slightly as if to keep that hint of warmth.

Rahu's faint smile softened at this detail, also amused by Chief's sudden fluster. She simply nods, her eyes still fixed on Chief's, savoring the rare moment of her losing her composure.
With a slight tilt of her head, she brought her hands up to gently brush her finger along Chief's cheeks, tracing the faint warmth there. The Chief's breath hitches, her eyes widen at the sudden gesture as her pulse quickens at the slow caress.

"Chief. Your emotions are written on your face." Rahu murmured fondly, her voice barely above a whisper, yet filled with a teasing warmth.

The Chief tried to respond, but the words were trapped in her lips. Instead, she found herself leaning closer into Rahu's touch.
She felt the roughness of Rahu's hands - Strong and callouses from endless battles - yet so gentle and comforting.
Her lips brush against Rahu's palm, in an attempt to soothe the scars that plastered her hands.
This caused Rahu's hands to freeze for a moment, her breath caught as her fingers subconsciously tightened around Chief's face.
That gesture spoke volume, filling the air with a new found intensity. Rahu's eyes held an edge of surprise, a simple kiss....yet it unraveled her composure in ways she can't comprehend. A sudden swell of emotions surged in Rahu's chest,
her voice coming out in a shaky whisper.

"Chief.. Don't. Don't do that." She whispered quietly, her tone a mixture of warning and plea. Her self-control was eating slowly into her.

Chief's gaze lifted, her hands reach up as it covers over Rahu's hands, grounding them both. Rahu's resolve wavered again, her fingers brushing against Chief's cheeks despite her own whispered protest.

In the shared silence, the air between them thickened. Rahu's eyes flicker to Chief's lips for a brief moment before closing her eyes. The overwhelming urge to pull back sending alarm bells in her mind.

"Please. You don't know what you are doing to me..." Rahu continued, her voice barely a murmur, a request to Chief or maybe a reassurance to herself.

"Rahu?"

Chief steady gaze holds hers, a different demeanour as compared to before, a mixture of vulnerability and determination.
Rahu's restraint crumbles under her gaze, and a shaky breath escapes her lips. It's not fair. It really isn't. She knows she should pull away back, that this was a line she can't cross. Yet, her fingers refused to let go.
" I won't be able to control myself, if you keep looking at me like that Chief." Rahu exhaled shakily.

"It makes it hard for me to remember my place." Rahu swallowed hard, the temptation to just give in to her impulsiveness was overwhelming, but she knew the weight of that choice.

For a moment, they lingered in that quiet tension.  Her fingers brushing lightly against Chief's lips in a silent question.
Chief didn't pull away, her lips parted with a silent invitation, which shattered Rahu's resolve instantly.
With a soft sigh, Rahu leans down, her lips brushing against Chief, a kiss that was both gentle, yet filled with the intensity she had tried so hard to hold back.
The kiss was slow and sensual, both of them exploring the newfound sweetness of the moment, igniting a small flame through their veins.
Perhaps the shackles amplified the sensation, Rahu's hand found her way to the back of Chief's neck, gently cradling her as they continued to move their lips in harmony.
As the kiss deepened, Rahu's tongue gently pressed against Chief's bottom lips,
a silent request for entrance. Chief part her lips slightly, granting the invitation she's sought. Their tongue collided, a soft tentative exploration that sent an involuntarily shudder down Chief's spine. It was intoxicating as the kiss became more fervent and desperate, making the world around them blurred into nothingness, and the deafening heartbeats that threatened to envelope them both.

But soon, the need for air becomes a pressing reality.
"Rahu.." The chief broke the kiss as she tried to catch her breath. She gazed into Rahu's eyes, which sparked with affection and tenderness, her heart thumping hard from the aftermath. The chief could feel her face heating up again under her gaze, but this time, she can't bring herself to look away. Instead, she managed a breathless smile, her voice barely whispering.
"I guess....I'll have to get used to that."

Rahu chuckle softly, bringing Chief's knuckles to her lips. "Good. Because I'm not going anywhere."
