“…and with that said, I am pronouncing you, husbands…”
And so, they were finally married!
Spock and Jim having eloped pretty much to do just that.
Well, not exactly, not really. As it had been on a whim during shore leave the two had decided on tying the knot as it was high time to do so. Being in town and all, a simple (or not so simple?) step to take.
And so, here they were, outside of the magistrate’s office, the two of them being officially, married.
“So, waddaya wanna do next Spock?”
“Well, guess we should do something memorable. It is tradition after all.”
Spock having read all about the human marriage ritual, even if neither of them were too big on traditions, not really.
“Well, we should go out for dinner. But later today.”
Jim already having spotted something he though could be really fun.
“Oh?”
“Yeah, because I know something we can do right now. Something memorable.”
“You have?”
“Yes, Spock! Follow me!”
Jim grabbed a hold of Spock, half dragging the man in his life towards something, a booth of some kind he had spotted just before.
Spock could only follow. Like he usually did. Of course he did. As Spock, would always follow Jim anywhere he would lead.
They reached the booth, finding a small stool to sit on there only and some kind of mirror in front of it.
Spock looked confused at Jim, who seem to know exactly what it was they had found.
“What, is this place?”
“It’s a photo booth.”
“A what? It did not come up in my research.”
“Well, what happens here is, you sit on this, stool, remain unmoving for a moment. There is a camera inside there and it takes a few snaps which are then printed out in a few minutes.”
“Sounds… interesting.” Spock quirked his eyebrow.
“Come on Spock, it’ll be fun, love!”
It took some shuffling, but in the end they decide for Spock as the taller of them to take the seat and Kirk, hovering beside him.
The several flashes of light followed, while, Spock remained perfectly still while Jim, well…
The ‘photoshoot’ was over soon enough and the two were outside waiting for the results.
As they did drop out after a while, Jim eagerly reached out to check the pictures.
With a huge big grin on his face, nodding, Jim passed the images slide to Spock.
As it turned out, Spock having remained perfectly still, his one expression on, with Jim doing minor expression, from a smile to a grin, but the last one, well… Jim was kissing Spock on his cheek, with Spock’s own expression speaking volumes, the soft smile having emerged and then caught on camera.
Spock stared at the images, a single tear emerging from out of nowhere.
“Spock, you okay?” Jim asked worried, the stoic Vulcan as he was, never showing that much emotion.
“I… just…” Spock turned to Jim. “This, is the best day of my life.”
Jim, without a word, kissed his, husband lightly on the lips.
“There will be plenty more of these for us ahead, I promise.”
