Summary
The tip of the knife traces the mysterious sigil on Jere’s chest. Tommy stops the blade on its edge where he assumes Jere’s heart is, pointing directly at the organ under the skin, muscle, bones, his grip on the handle firm and stable. The tip presses into the skin with just enough force not to draw blood.
“D’you think you could take it? If I pushed the blade in right here,” he whispers into Jere’s ear.
