Chapter Text
Before getting up to the stage, Luka touched the little, barely noticeable bump in his belly and took a deep sigh.
This needed to be his best show. For their sake.
Or else…
“This one’s for you, little one.” He took a deep breath, walking up to the stage, hoping nobody would notice his pregnancy.
Not that the aliens gave a fuck about the humans on the stage being pregnant; Luka was just ashamed to be alone during his pregnancy. And ashamed of being pregnant in general.
Apparently this was only common in female humans, but something in the DNA of the humans inside of the garden of Anakt was different. Years of cloning meant light distorsions in a human’s DNA, aliens couldn’t quite recreate human biology perfectly too.
So, he doesn’t quite know how did he got pregnant. Or how the fuck is he going to give birth.
Nonetheless Luka isn’t complaining about having to carry his soon to be bundle of joy. He thinks it’s better that he’s the one carrying them instead of the ‘father’ of the child.
He can’t remember if he is four or six months into the pregnancy, but he can, in fact, remember that the child is Hyuna’s.
If Hyuna carried the child, there wouldn’t be any child at this point. Luka knows Hyuna, he knows how often does she get into trouble and anormally dangerous situations.
Hyuna is a rebel, Luka thinks remaining quiet, successful and obedient will guarantee his survival.
Despite popular belief, he hasn’t been with anyone that isn’t Hyuna. Even if he gets called a manwhore on the regular, he knows that the only person he has been a whore to is Hyuna and Hyuna only.
He needed to do his best for this possible last show, it was still hard to do so.
Even if he won the Alien Stage, the baby growing inside of him will not have a father… Hyuna is gone for good, and she possibly will never come back.
The only good side of all of this is that his owner has agreed to keep the baby.
Even if his child will be a pet like him, it’s good to know that they will live, and that he will get to see if this little pup of a human will have Hyuna’s hair or eyes…
Luka smiled as he heard the crowd cheering for him, knowing he had to do his best for not only his survival but the survival of his child.
It wasn’t only his baby; it was Hyuna’s too…
Oh, how he would die just for her to know that they will have a kid together.
Luka would’ve even thought about names if only Hyuna was there, but as she was absent, he hadn’t thought about any names yet. He wanted to know Hyuna’s opinion on names.
He guessed he would come up with a name for their baby once it was born.
Plus, he was sure that if Hyuna was there, she would’ve wanted to name their child Hyunwoo if it was a boy. Luka wasn’t sure if he liked that name for their kid.
I mean, it would be very uncomfortable to call the kid the name of the guy he accidentally killed.
…
Luka sang on stage against Till, hoping his performance and impersonating tactics would help him defeat Till. Maybe that way, he would be able to earn his very own freedom, if his owner allowed him to, of course.
Hyuna taught him how to do impersonation, how to mimic voices and mannerisms…
Yet Luka couldn’t yet mimic Hyuna at all; perhaps he didn’t want to do that to himself, or perhaps Hyuna was just too unique to be imitated by someone like him.
Deceiving Till was easy, yet trying to do so made him uneasy. His survival and his child’s depended on this very moment. If he didn’t play his cards right, he would be shot.
He would never see if his child has Hyuna's eyes. The eyes of the true, one and only ruler of his heart.
Even if his child was born and raised in Anakt just like him, he would love to at least see them being born.
Humans used to do that before, right? Reproduce and then see their children grow up and live their lives… It feels like such a weird concept.
It feels so unreal.
Yet he wants that so badly.
And so, as the thoughts inside of his head were consuming him, Luka managed to give his best performance so far.
In a blink, gone.
In a blink, everything was over.
Luka didn’t even flinch when Till got shot. He was used to it, used to death happening right in front of him. It was just a part of being in the stage at this point.
A part of Luka was happy he managed to survive.
And so, everything was over.
He could live with his child in peace and quiet.
Or so he thought, before the father of his child appeared in front of him in the stage. Hyuna’s stomach bleeding from a shooting wound.
Luka was stunned, not quite knowing if the feeling inside of his stomach was the baby, joy or nervousness. He thought he would never see her beloved again, and yet there she was. Perhaps as stunned as himself.
Hyuna looked down to Luka’s stomach, noticing the little bump, an expression of shock in her face. Maybe a hint of distress also colored her face.
“Are you- Sick or something?” She asked in disbelief.
“No… We will have a baby.” Luka managed to mutter, not a smile on his face. Could one be proud and embarrassed at the same time?
How could he smile when he knew they were in danger?
He really just hoped Hyuna managed to rescue him so that they would come out of this one alive. Just this time. He hoped Hyuna’s rebellion could save him for once and for all instead of causing him so much pain.
