Work Text:
Thoma was about to finish his housework for the day in the Kamisato estate and only needed to clean Ayato's office. As he approached, he noticed the door was a bit open and peaked in to see Lord and Lady Kamisato discussing something.
Thoma thought it was rude to interrupt and would come back later until..
"Ayato when are you going to confess to him?! We both know he would obviously accept your proposal so why not ask?" Ayaka questioned.
"Ayaka, I may have feelings for Thoma but we only believe he would say yes. That is not certain. Also, I would not have the time to ask him this week or the next due to my schedule." Ayato answered in a stern but low voice.
Thoma's heart skipped a beat, he was shocked and ran before they could notice he was there. He ran back to his dorm and stayed there for the evening.
He was curled up in a ball with thoughts and emotions running through his mind.
(No no no certainly it is not true. My Lord could never. No they must have staged it. But how would they know I was there. And it was so real too...)
All these thoughts caused Thoma to start hyperventilating and would not accept what he heard.
(Heh no no it is just a phase my Lord would get over it soon. M-maybe I could stay a bit more distant. He could forget it quicker. I can't be the reason for his reputation to go downfall. I can't)
Tears started to fall down Thoma's face as he felt guilty. He wanted to be with Ayato but couldn't put his lord's reputation on the line for him.
He soon calmed down and slowly drifted to sleep for another day.
(The next morning 6:30am)
Thoma woke up feeling dreadful but he had to start his housework and errands of the day. He started to get ready and make breakfast for his Lady and Lord. Thoma made two bowls of miso soup and two cups of tea.
Once they were done, he gave Lady Ayaka her breakfast in her bedroom.
"My Lady good morning! Here is your breakfast." Thoma greeted with a soft smile on his face.
"Hello Thoma. Thank you for the breakfast." Ayaka responded softly.
"You're welcome my Lady." Thoma said before taking a deep bow and leaving the room.
Now, Thoma had to give Ayato his breakfast. He was standing outside Ayato's office and took a deep breath whilst staring at the door.
(I-it will be fine just a simple greeting, bow and I can leave)
Thoma knocked twice on the door before slowly opening it, looking down at the floor.
"M- My L-Lord. G-good morning. Here is your breakfast... " Thoma stuttered in an uneasy voice.
"Good morning Thoma. Thank you just place it on my desk." Ayato replied in a bright tone.
"Y Yes my Lord."
Thoma didn't even take a glimpse at Ayato and place the food on the desk. He took a deep bow trying to cover up his distressed look.
Unfortunately for him, Ayato notices his strange pattern.
"Here you go my L-Lord. Enjoy... " Thoma said still bowing down.
"Thoma.. Is something wrong?" Ayato asked in a worried voice.
"I- No of course not my Lord! I need to start my errands my Lord have a nice day!" Thoma said in a hurry before hastily leaving the office and closing the door.
Ayato just stared with worry and concern in his eyes but he also had a busy day ahead of him and couldn't question any further.
Thoma started panicking outside the office but knew he had errands to start and had to go immediately.
This continued for a couple more weeks. Thoma has hardly even looked at Ayato and always stuttered and continuously bowing when speaking to him.
Ayato grew more annoyed and worried on why Thoma wouldn't look at him and decided to have a personal talk with him.
On a cold, rainy evening, it was just about dinner and Thoma had already prepared. He was facing the door to Ayato's office once again but was more confident now. He knocked on the door and entered his office.
Again not even taking a glimpse at Ayato he greeted Ayato and gave him his food followed by a deep bow before turning around and as he was about to leave..
"Thoma. Stay with me for dinner." Ayato ordered in a stern but soft tone.
Thoma knew it was an order and was obedient to his Lord but he was very hesitant and his confidence dropped almost instantly.
"B- But my lord-" Thoma said without looking back until he was interrupted.
"Stay." Ayato ordered in a more annoyed tone glaring at Thoma's back.
Thoma obeyed and sat down next to Ayato, shaking like a leaf.
(This is not good. I don't want to be here but it is an order. What does he need? Did I do something wrong? What happened?)
All these thoughts started coming back to Thoma and he started shedding tears without even realising.
Ayato saw Thoma crying and was concerned.
"Thoma what is wrong what happened?" Ayato questioned in a worried voice as he cupped is hand on Thoma's face whilst wiping his tears with thumb.
"Oh! Uh! It is nothing my Lord don't worry!" Thoma said hastily whilst forcing a smile on his face whilst wiping his tears away.
Ayato's tone became more serious as he finally stated,
"Thoma.. What is wrong? You have hardly been looking or talking to me for the last few weeks. What happened?"
Thoma gulped as his thoughts turned into nothingness and started panicking. After a few seconds he started splurging out waves of information and what was going on.
"I am sorry my lord. I-i was eavesdropping on your conversation with Lady Ayaka and I heard about your feelings! I-i knew it was just a phase and I tried to keep my distance! It would be dreadful for your reputation and I know how much you care about it and loving me would-" Thoma said hastily and was interrupted with a passionate kiss from Ayato.
Thoma was shocked and kissed back not wanting to back away.
Ayato slowly sperated their lips and said,
"Thoma, dear. My love for you is worth much more than my reputation. I would sacrifice it for you to be mine." Ayato replied in a slow and calm voice. He took a deep breath and finally asked.
"Thoma will you be mine forever?"
Thoma's heart skipped a beat and was shocked. Before waiting any longer he replied,
"Yes! Yes I will!"
They both leaned in for another passionate kiss and giggled.
"I love you Thoma."
..
"I love you too Ayato."
