Chapter Text

It was cold out that night. Cold but peaceful. Or it was until the villain attacked. Just some thug who could manipulate rocks or something. Bakugou was a hero. At least by definition. He saved people, he helped. However, he didn't have a license and he knew he would never have the privilege to get one. So he became a vigilante.

He had been sitting in the roof of a building watching the streets when it happened. The pavement of the had risen up off of the ground sending cars flying. One smashing into a building. An old cafe that had been closed due to the late hour. Katsuki Bakugou upon seeing him, pulled up his mask and flew down to the villain with an explosion. He landed on the ground a few yards away. One palm exploded and cushioned his landing, the other shot a blast at the villain, who had been caught off guard by the ash blonde's sudden appearance and he crashed back into the pavement, which bent down as if to try to cushion him.

The sound of sirens rang out. But they were close. Katsuki hadn't noticed because of the sound of his own explosions and the horrible crashing of the pavement against itself. Footsteps began to sound to his right.

"Pros," Katsuki muttered. He was cornered, cops were approaching from behind him, pros were coming at him from the right, to his left was a dead end alleyway, and if he went up and back to the roof, his quirk would surely be spotted. He was not about to be arrested with this low life for vigilantism. The villain. He'd been so focused on the pros and police he'd forgotten what he'd actually been doing. He started sprinting as fast as he could forwards. The way he looked, there was no way he could pass for a victim. His mask was up and he'd been seen doing vigilante work before. If he were taken to the station to give a testimony they would absolutely recognize him. He always wore the same mask. It covered the lower half of his face, dark green, almost black, with orange lines crossing and forming an x, in the middle. He could chose a different one, but civilians in the area knew this mask and he wanted it to be a signal to them that someone was there to help. He would ruin his life if he got arrested. Not that his current living situation could get that much worse.

At that moment the villain sent a spike of pavement towards Katsuki, who had been too focused on not being spotted by the pros to dodge. It drove deep into the blonde's side, and Bakugou had to stop running and focus on not screaming in pain. He flew back at the force of the impact his head smacking hard against the ground as he landed on his back. The rock pulled out quickly and caused another sharp wave of pain rush though the vigilante. There was no way that he was going to be able to make it past the villain. So instead, he pulled himself to the alley tucking himself into the far corner of the dead end and praying that he wouldn't be noticed, as he collapsed down to the ground, leaning against the wall. Black spots had begun dancing around his vision.

Gosh, he was so dizzy.

He heard commotion from the opening of the alley, though he couldn't make much out, police yelling and the villain screeching then everything went quiet as the sirens sped away from him.

"Cops are gone," Katauki muttered to himself having barely registered the sirens. However, there were footsteps, and unfortunately for the vigilante, they were getting closer. Bakugou shakily pulled himself to his feet. He needed to move, to get away. But when he tried to take a step his body protested and his side throbbed to life even more viciously. Bakugou looked away and reached for the injury trying to apply pressure. Upon placing his hand to the wound, however, he discovered a soaked shirt and a hand now newly coated in dark crimson.

The footsteps got to him too quickly for him to move though. He was going to get arrested. He had to get away. He couldn't let that happen. The black spots spread further into his vision with every step he tried to take, and blood dripped down the side of his face, sticking his hair to his face. The teen couldn't bring himself to care though. He was desperate.

The pro hero Eraserhead was in front of him. When did the pro hero Eraserhead get here. His footsteps must have been what he'd heard approaching. Bakugou's head was spinning, it screamed at him to run, but his body wasn't listening.

Bakugou had met the underground hero before. They'd talked for a few minutes. Eraserhead hadn't turned him in for the crimes he'd been committing but there was no garentee that he would extend him the same kindness now. It was possible the hero hadn't seen what he'd been doing in the times they'd interacted before. Eraserhead had been curious about Bakugou's quirk but Katsuki had brushed him off. It was dangerous to give out information about himself. Now the hero was in front of him again. Only this time, the sarcastic, tired look the man usually sported was replaced by one of pure horror. The adult reached forwards to grab the teens arm. Bakugou jumped back by survival reflex before loosing his balance, stumbling, and falling backwards, hitting the ground with a heavy crash.

Eraserhead sprinted towards him, "Kid! Stop! You're hurt, you'll worsen your injury, that's severe, it's not something you can walk off. Please let me help you!" Bakugou tried to block out the man's voice in an attempt to calm the roaring headache and stop the spread of the ever expanding dark spots invading his vision. He pulled himself off of the ground with his knuckles turning white from his death grip on the wall next to him. This time though, his legs completely gave out beneath him and he collapsed back towards the earth. Eraserhead quickly swept an arm underneath him in a practiced motion, keeping the teens body safe from the impact with the ground.

"Kid! Stop!" He gently brought the boy to a seated position leaning him carefully against a wall, assessing his acquired injuries.

"No..." Bakugou mumbled his words slurring slightly as if his mouth was refusing to form the words that he wanted it to. He tried, weakly, to push the raven haired man away, "I don't wanna go to jail."

Eraserhead looked at the boy in front of him, he was to pale for the hero's liking. "Kid." He said, his tone serious, "I am not going to take you to jail. I know you're not licensed to use your quirk, but I don't think it's right to arrest someone who's trying to protect people." Katsuki went to sit up away from the wall, but the but his side seared with a sharp pain. Eraserhead eased him back down.

"Easy kid. Stop staining yourself. Let me help you." The underground hero pleaded, stepping cautiously towards Katsuki. The way you would a stray animal when you were trying to approach without running away. Bakugou didn't want to but his body finally made the choice for him as the black dots completely overtook his vision and he lost consciousness.
