Work Text:
This piece ended up pretty well cropped, but we're proud of how it turned out! The song this is based on is the second in a trilogy: Princess♂, Mister Jewel Box, and Kruel Kreator, all by THHK and Dyes Iwasaki. The PVs for these songs have somewhat flashy, eye-straining visuals, if that might be a problem for you.
The first concerns a female character and how she manipulates her way through social groups, making people fight over her, especially for her romantic and sexual affections. She pretends she doesn't like it, but in reality it's exactly what she wants. The song became extremely popular, and life then imitated art: the design and traits of Princess stirred up a lot of real life fighting, with a focus on the audience's sexual attractions to her.
The second is the creator's direct response to the popularity of Princess, THHK himself loosely represented in the PV as "Mister Jewel Box": the 3D to the 2D. Ultimately, Princess becomes just as "real" as him through the power of her fans - throwing his own identity and sense of self into confusion, then eventually overpowering him and sentencing him to her box of jewels.
The last is another response to the popularity of Princess and her songs, with MJB being forced to work hard under Princess's thumb, trying to find a way to kill her and take her out of the world. There's more to the meaning than just that, but why spoil it for you? ;D
