Chapter Text

Bakugou's dream was always being the number one hero.

Four year old him running around with his all might action figure. Even having a small blanket wrapped around his neck as if it was a cape. His mother usually chuckled at the little one's actions. Already having this 'I'm better then everyone' attitude, he could only thank the best. He was so determined to be a pro hero one day. Maybe even fighting with his idol. Of course a child's mind was going to run free.

Imagining the unthinkable.

It didn't take long for the young child to develop his quirk, being one of the firsts in his class. But something about his special ability made him rather disappointed.

The morning he found out was when his father, Masaru accidentally walked face first into a wall. In a rush to get to work that is. Bakugou couldn't contain his laughter after glancing up from eating his cereal. That's when small flowers started sprouting from his hair, all very colorful.

Mitsuki almost choked on her coffee. "My baby got his quirk!" She chirped cheerfully getting a look of disbelief from the kid himself.

Bakugou just needed to found out himself what his quirk was. Also how come he wasn't able to see it? Possibly being on his head from the looks of his folks. Quickly jumping off the dining room chair to sprit down the hallway to the bathroom.

Immediately stepping on the stool to see the mirror. Instead of smiling like he thought, a look of confusion spread fast. Flowers? He watched as more dark colored ones started to grow fast, petals dropping from his head.

He didn't want this as a quirk.

It was lame in his opinion. The blonde little boy couldn't help but ball his fists up. How come he got stuck with such a boring gift.

Once Bakugou grew older he began to lose his determination in chasing his dream. Don't get him wrong of course he wanted to but the way his quirk was turning out just didn't seem to go as planned.

During his middle school years he trained with 'quirkless Deku' well it wasn't exactly training more of the blonde male throwing Izuku down, trying to restrain him.

But his flowers were way too weak. They were just so easy to rip/tear apart.

Just pretty boring flowers.

"I'm- I'm sorry Kacchan I didn't mean to!"

Was always the response he expected once Deku ripped through it.

Of course he was pissed but in way he needed it. He needed to see for himself that his quirk wasn't really the restraining type or the defending kind. Plus using it on someone as weak as the other made him positive, his quirk really was useless.

No matter how hard he'd try to strengthen the flowers it didn't budge. Actually instead more weak yet big flowers kept coming— until his whole body could sprout all these colorful unique flowers even able to fill up rooms with it now.

He hated it.

Everywhere he went petals would drop from his hair especially in school. But no one ever dared to pick on him unlike Izuku or any other lame quirk users.

There was only once when a small group of boys came up to him saying something like "Pretty boy gonna grow me a couple of sunflowers huh?" Yeah that was the first and last time someone ever chose to bully him.

He was quick to throw one of the hardest punch to the boys face instantly busting his lip. People in the hallways spreading terrifying rumors that actually got him in trouble with teachers, as if he cared though. This led him to barely having any friends in school.

Back to Izuku though.

He was the schools main target, always getting tripped in hallways. His desk getting written on. He was a quirkless extra. Bound to get his ass pushed around. But he was still Bakugou's childhood friend rather he like to admit or not. That's why after he heard the loser was applying to UA he almost broke his pencil in two.

"Like hell you're going to UA with no damn quirk."

Maybe the blonde had a lame quirk but at least he has one. After seeing the green haired boy glance away he knew the answer immediately making him kick his desk down.

"Even without quirks people can become heroes with a lot of training Kacchan, even ones with weak quirks—" After hearing the losers little speech about how people can still become pros even without quirks. It made him want to rip his hair out. He was so furious.

If he couldn't even be strong with the ability he has what made Deku actually believe he could become some type of hero?

Or in other words.. if Bakugou couldn’t achieve his dreams then this quirkless nerd couldn’t either.

And with that he yanked the journal in the smaller boy's hand before throwing it out the window. Hearing it fall into water.

Not exactly what he wanted but it was too late. "Go ahead take a leap of faith off the roof and embarrass yourself, like you always do." He grumbled ignoring the tears forming in Deku's eyes once he ran to the window. After that Bakugou stormed out of the empty classroom.

He hated quirkless extras like him.

Believing they can just become heroes that easily. Thinking as if they could up top people with quirks. He didn't think it was fair to the people who actually had them. The weak ones that is. He'll see that crushing reality sooner or later. The grumpy blonde always thought to himself.

He could only picture the losers expression once he realized it wasn't possible.

But of course Bakugou was wrong.

Just his luck honestly. He couldn't help but grit his teeth together loud and furiously. How the fuck does that bastard have a quirk? That being a somewhat strong one. The blonde couldn’t only think angrily to himself.

So his childhood best friend lied to him this whole time? Was he just trying to make him feel better for his own weak quirk? It wasn't fair. He definitely shouldn't have choose to watch the UA festival.

His eyes becoming somewhat glossy. The expression he had.. it was filled of hatred and maybe a bit of betrayal. His body shook with frustrated trembles.

Yeah he could probably break down at any minute now. Instead he threw the nearest thing next to him that being a glass cup.

Maybe it was being lied to by the nerd or how he was gonna live up to his dream unlike him. The one who choose to throw it away after finding out how useless it was.

He stared at the TV screen for awhile feeling his heart pound fast from anger. Why did the now not quirkless Deku get to live the life he wanted while he sat at home unlucky. He wanted to beat the others ass so bad. That face becoming more punchable than ever.

He lied?! That fucking dumbass lied about not having a quirk, why? To make me feel special for my lame boring one? Or to just see the look on my face when I find out? Some sick fucking revenge. I'm gonna put that idiot six feet under.

Okay so maybe not that extreme but Bakugou thought whatever was on his mind no matter the filter of it.

That's why it was surprising once people found out he grew up to open 'Dynamight's flowers' being one of the most popular and beautiful flower shops in Japan. Of course it definitely wasn't easy climbing to the top. He may of gave up his dream of being a hero but he sure as hell wasn't giving up this one.

Something he was actually good at.

At first you definitely wouldn't be used to the snappy blonde shop owner but everyone around the city got used to it.

The incredible flowers he made not to mention he has the best taste in stuff. He'll also tells you straight up if he thinks something will blend in ugly with your home.

Thank his bluntness.

It wasn't long till he saw familiar faces around the store along with the new and overloading costumers.

He used to think it would just be old people or lovesick couples. But actually the store had a variety of people. No matter the age. People came in for decorations, families, sometimes just window shopping which Bakugou got annoyed by but didn't seem to care too much. People just actually seemed to enjoy the males quirk.

Even going as far to call it 'wonderful' he wasn't to used to this but he could definitely live with. He enjoyed the praises after all. People would even come in to challenge Bakugou in making the rarest plant combinations, who would he be to just turn down that?

So even groups of teenagers became regular faces around the shop. Gladly the community loved the flower shop and the owner as well.

Bakugou couldn't help but smile to himself sometimes. Looking around the medium shop filled with flowers and even creations of his own. Thanks to the annoying teens he actually had made ideas of his own plants.

The place was just covered with flowers even the ceiling. It didn't help that the uncontrollable flowers from his head dropped everywhere he went. So you would just sometimes see piles of petals everywhere. The blonde male was never a fan of anything too colorful but who was he kidding now, this place was filled with it. It was gorgeous.

But get a load of this, one of his regular costumers just happened to be that annoying Deku. The loser who grew up to be the number one hero.

He just has to watch his own dream be taken away from him like that? Yeah what else could he do?

It had been two years since the male became a pro instantly climbing to the top. He came every other week day sometimes before or after his shifts. Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and even Saturdays if he had nothing to do.

Bakugou could only ball his fists up while red and orange flowers angrily popped up from his spiky hair. Izuku had very much grown over the years. Standing at least taller than 6'8. His body obviously becoming more boarded up. He was a fucking giant while lucky Bakugou only grew to 5'11.

His luck was really just the worst huh? Even worst the male always came in with his hero costume.

Some days he really just wanted to kick out the pro however it brought in business. Not only that Izuku always found a way to praise Bakugou's business. With the ratings going up he definitely wasn't kicking him out. No matter how much it pissed him off. Even when the loser apologized over and over about the past the blonde found a way to yell at him.

"Kacchan!" Bakugou could only let a deep breath out hearing the door bells ring once the doors opened. He really just couldn't stand how annoying that fucking voice was. On top of that how punchable that face still was.

"Could you help pick out some flowers for... uh someone?" Now this made the blonde male raise a brow before a smirk finally grew across his lips. So the nerd has eyes for someone?

This should be fun to mess around with. Instantly Izuku couldn't help but regret saying anything after seeing the look.

"Falling for someone now, Deku? Fine tell me what they're like and I'll be able to think of some."

Embarrassed slightly by the words Izuku began speaking. "W-Well they're um.. she's amazing. She's always cheerful and knows how to bring anyone's mood back up. Not only that but when she's fighting she always looks so determined.. and yet still having a smile on her face. She's.. beautifu—" the way Deku's eyes slowly started lighting up while speaking about this chick made Bakugou think about when he mutters about heroes. So he really is in love? That's gross.

"I get it dumbass I didn't ask to hear about your wedding plans now did I?" Instantly making the hero go red to the fast and in a way it made Bakugou smile just a little.

Okay so what he found the loser admiring some extra girl a little amusing. Or maybe it was he was happy for him? No definitely not. He despise Deku so much for everything.

The smaller male took a deep breath before letting his mind take over. Progressing the others words he instantly made a somewhat bouquet. It containing light and bright pink Rhododendrons and cherry blossoms.

Bakugou reached up to pick the flowers up by the now grown steams. His quirk was sort of interesting in a way. On the other hand the blonde just thought his quirk was useless as a teenager. No poisonous flowers really? Not knowing he end up owning one of Japan's best shops.

"Here that's gonna be 900 yen though." He grumbled taking the flowers and wrapping it with tissue paper and thick paper. Soon handing it over to Deku who happily paid with a smile on his face.

"You're truly the best Kacchan! And thanks again for also helping me find some for my mom, she said she adores them!" Bakugou still couldn't stand the annoying yelling but if it was about how amazing he was he definitely just sit and take it. "Yeah well unlike you, your mom is actually nice to be around."

Bakugou simply had to just deal with annoying costumers in order to be the best flower shop owner but.. maybe he hasn't met the most annoying one yet.
