Blaise’s hand wrapped in hers as he tugged her toward the Slytherin common room, his eyes softening when he noticed the way she froze in the entrance.
“Come on,” he whispered into her hair. “It’s fine.”
She shook slightly, his hands cupping hers to hide their trembling. Her eyes unfocused, memories of the war crashing into her. The dungeons. The rooms where the Carrows held their ‘special’ lessons for anyone who wanted to defy them. Her breath hitched, panic making it hard to breathe.
“Gin, it’s okay,” he whispered. “You don’t have to do this today if you don’t want to.”
“But everyone knows,” she said softly.
He looked over her head where Theo and Pansy waited with concerned expressions, shaking his head slightly as he looked back down at her. His hand gently ran through her hair, trying to calm her.
“Ginny, if you can’t do it, then fuck what everyone knows. Your health is more important than them.”
She lifted her chin, “I can do it.”
Blaise looked at her in concern before he nodded, knowing that once she set her mind to it, no one would dissuade Ginerva Weasley from doing what she wanted to do.
“Alright, but if you change your mind at any point in time, tell me. I’ll walk you to your dorm.”
“Everyone knows,” she repeated.
“Everyone knows, Red,” he agreed. “And they’re all looking forward to seeing you.”
