Summary
In his own special way of mourning the loss of his childhood best friend— physically to med school on the other side of the country, and emotionally to a growing rift without a source, Aven spends the decade following high school obsessively stalking Ratio’s SpaceGram even though the guy never posts, scrubbing other people's toilets because he still can't find a job, and drinking his heart out in pumpkin spice lattes he won’t be able to make any more once he runs through the ten liters of Autumn’s Sweet flavor syrup his boss gifted him when their small town’s Interastral Peace Coffee went out of business.
(And unbeknownst to him, some two-thousand miles and three time zones away, Ratio is doing just the same.)
