Work Text:

Was that a burning house?

Were those burning bodies?

I flexed my right hand.

Was that even my right hand?

Yes, yes and… maybe, I guess.

It was still made of Yiggy’s branches and a few soul strings but it was my right hand.

Now how did I get here… Oop.

Some… caped lunatic(?) tried to stab me with her… uh… what the hell, is that even a knife?

Who the hell would call that a knife!? Blubbering fool didn't even hold it— I snatched it from his hands and stabbed it square into his brain, instantly putting him into a coma.

…What? Did you think I was going to kill him? I still have my vows, Dave.

“My, my~ You just killed this lovely lady’s child with no remorse!”

Nope. Not dealing with that. That sounds too crazy for my mourning soul.

The glass beneath me shattered into the ever bright night sky…

Oh bother.

I was still here.

I turned to… whatever the hell this thing was.

It had the shape of a woman, soul of something else and the voice of a mangled siren.

“Not dead.”

The thing twisted it's head.

“Hm? This lovely lady clearly sees that she's dead.”

“Not dead.”

“Are you arguing with his lovely lady? After she gave you time to reflect on—”

Oh hey, a tree behind her.

My finger pointed upwards.

The roots beneath the thing stabbed it straight through the middle.

My pointer finger and my thumb closed in together and seperated in a smooth motion.

Roots, grass, fruits and bark exploded out from the root spear, exploding the thing into chunks of weirdly draconic flesh as I turned around and walked away.

“What a weird death.”

It took a while but I made a fishing rod from grass and roots.

Some worms came to help me fish.

The fishes here were weird.

“...You guys have fishes made of lungs here?”, the worms just shrugged as I took them out of the… lung… fish’s mouth and let it go.

What a weird world.

I built a grave from stone.

I built two.

I built four.

I built six.

I built twelve.

By the time I erected the thirteenth, night had fallen.

And…

Something peculiar also happened.

“YOU DARE KILL THIS LOVEL—”

I threw a tree at the dragon thing. It stabbed through the head. I snapped my fingers and the tree exploded into a bigger tree. The dragon exploded with it.

So, things can turn into dragon's in this world. Got i…

Oh.

I was in front of a burning building.

A time loop?

But there was no Intentiary Zone of Control in this entire world. I had just scanned. I knew.

“Interesting…” The girl who tried to stab me flew back as I kicked her away. It broke her spine. She was paralyzed for life now. She would be fine otherwise.

While rubbing my chin I casually took a step to the side to avoid the same woman looking thing crushing me under her… uh… dragon arm, I guess.

It looked grotesque. Reminded me almost of the dark elves.

Eh.

Atleast this one looked sanitary.

“Look, all I want to know is—”

“HOW DARE YOU SIT ATOP THIS LOVELY LADY— HOW ARE YOU EVEN DOING THIS WITHOUT SKIN!?”

Oh, right. Somewhere in the fight the thing took all my skin. Great. Nice. I still have my hoodie. Moving on from unimportant stuff.

“Can you answer my questions,or not?”

“THIS LOVELY LADY WILL NOT!”

“Great…”

I crushed her head.

It grew back a moment later.

“STOP CRUSHING THIS LOVELY LADY'S HEAD!! THIS LOVELY LADY DID NOTHING TO PROVOKE YOU!”

…I stared at my skinless self, then at her.

“You didn't even notice until I pointed it out!” Yeah, okay, that's true. Doesn't matter though.

“Can you just tell me where I am?” It was already night time… was this time loop static or random?

“...This lovely lady is dumbfounded by your question.”

I clicked my tongue.

“Just tell me already.”

“Hmph. This lovely lady is currently in the outskirts of Lugnica, so you are t—”

I was standing infront of a burning building, again.

The girl didn't have the chance to try and stab me because I kicked her in the face hard enough to send her flying across the village. She would survive, with paralysis.

Now where did that ‘lovely lady’ go…

I drop kicked her the moment I saw her. Then I broke both her arms and legs before she could skin me and then I used her as a ski to slide down the mountain the village was on.

Turns out, this thing did have human organs. It screamed like one too as it grinded on the mountain like cheese on a cheese grater.

But it wasn't human.

This soul was waaaaayyyyyy too sinful to be human.

“What are you, anyways?”

“Gghhh!gh!gh!GGGASSAHHHH!!”

Oh right she's eating my arm.

Was she a cannibal vegetarian?

Wait, did that make sense? I was physically a ‘plant’ but my body was ‘meat’. Would eating me count as cannibalism or not?

“Hmm..” I contemplated using the stump of my left arm as the ‘Lovely Lady’ spat out the plant based ‘meat’ and ‘bones’ of my arm.

“Khack! ACK! WHAT THE HELL!? WHY ARE YOU MADE OUT OF MOSS!?”

“It's actually meat.”

The girl looked down at the mass of my flesh and muscles she had vomited then turned to me with an incredulous look.

“THAT IS CLEARLY MOSS! THIS LOVELY LADY DEMANDS YOU DIE FOR YOUR TRANSGRESSIONS MEATBA—”

My artificial arm gripped her face.

“Yeah, yeah. You're my guide now. C'mon, let's find civilization.”

I stepped forward. Leaned forward into a crouch and…

[Leapt]

A line of noise tore through the woods. Quiet, fast and unnoticeable… then crashed into a great bunyan.

Fortunately, the lovely lady took most of the impact. I leaned back and slid down on the crater created inside the tree and looked up at the night sky.

“So, we close?”

I only got gurgles as a response.

“What? You can heal yourself.”

She gurgles again.

“I've talked to worms with better pronunciation. Do you know where we are, anyway?”

“Gggh— ack! ACK! Tchu!”

“Hey! Hey! Don't spit on me! You're crushing my already dead self respect!”

“Aghh…”

She looked more like a zombie than a person at this point.

Well, she was trying to transfigure my body across the entire [leap] so that probably tired her out. My occasional head crush also helped, I guess.

“...Can you atleast tell me your name, lady?”

“... Capella. This lovely lady’s name is Capella Emerada Lugnica ! The archbishop of Lust—”

The building was burning.

Good.

This was not a static loop.

Bad.

This was a random loop as far as I knew now.

Turning around I flicked the robbed cultists’ head and sent her flying. She would not die, probably.

Cappella was not here ye—

Oh, nevermind.

Oh? Were those… flesh puppets behind her?

Hm.

No need to make assumptions now.

I needed a guide. An archbishop was probably a good guide to this world. Right? Right.

Oh right, Order should also be here… He can take care of himself.

“Yo.”

“Mm? Are you interrupting this Lovely Lady's time off?”

“Yup.” I took a step back to dodge her trying to reach and grab out for me. “Need a guide.” I take another step back and then to the side as she clumsily tries again but shoots out a spear of her own flesh from her arm at the end.

“And why should this Lovely Lady help you? You even dodged her embrace! Most people would die for that!”

“...” I swallowed the answer.

I was not ‘Shino Hana’ and as such I had no right to speak of Infarös Flurous Mutantinous in such a way.

“I'm gay.” …Really?

“... Really?”

The momentary shock of amusement let me regain my own footing. The girl tried to grab me again but—

Crack! Snap!

Her tendons snapped.

“Hmgh?”

Her bones shattered.

“What—!?”

Her muscles folded in on themselves.

“...”

I watch as she tries and fails to regenerate and reform her broken body. Each attempt results in the total destruction of some neurons in her brain. Each attempt breaks away her mind over and over.

I had simply touched her once. I had simply deemed her to be a thing and not a person.

Picking her up I put her over my shoulders and leap into the sky once again.

Lugnica is a neat country.

From above the skies. Atop a cloud. Two people sat.

One was brain dead. The other was eating berries he had picked up from somewhere, using the other's belly as a plate.

The boy—

I rip away the thin veil of [Narrative] and let it fall into the sea below me before returning to eat my berries.

They were surprisingly sweet for wild berries. A bit salty on the tongue and a little bit poisonous but if simple poisons killed me I would be dead a long time ago. The texture was also… liquid? Almost liquid. They were like sweet yet salty ballons of flavour.

Delightful.

Anyways, time to rewind Cappella… wait was it ‘Cappella’ or ‘Capella’?

Ugh…

Names.

While groaning into my hand I poked the brain-dead girl with my pointer finger.

She instantly jolted awake… and fell down like a sack of potatoes.

“A…aa… aaah…”

“Hurts? Doesn't it?”

“I saw a small body in the fire, ya'know.”

“I thought it was an animal at first, but noo. You just had to kill children.”

“I can forgive many things.”

“Murder. Death. Anything, everything. As long as it wasn't inflicted upon children.”

“But.”

“You killed a child.”

“I'm sorry.”

“I can't forgive that.”

Staring off into the bubble of my own creation, I snapped.

Snap.

Snap.

Snap. Snap.

Snapsnapsnapsnapsnapsnapsnapsnapsnapsnapsnapsnapsnapsnapsnspsnapsnapsnapsnsap—

Each snap ended a world.

Each snap rewrote and rebuilt the person he knew as Capella.

Again and again.

One.

Two.

Three.

Four.

Die. Die. Die. Die.

Repent. Please.

For your sin.

Haha.

“AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH—”

“An eternity for each child you killed. Fair, no?”

I stab. I do not stab. I watch. I do not watch.

The berries, I feed it to her unconscious form as s

he convulses and jolts over and over.

“An hour has passed over the threshold.”

A truly random time loop. Uugh…

Her sins would be destroyed in… two hours?

Hm…

How many seconds would count as ‘Eternity’ in this world? In the old only five would count as ‘Eternity’...

“Infa.”

No answer.

“Alright.”

Only to you, Dave, there would be no answer. So stop watching me. Voyeur.

Notes:

Me like dragon. Chaos no like child killer.
