Michelle and Blue were staring at the one bed they had in their hotel room. “Boss?” Blue was startled when Michelle walked over to the couch.
“Yes, Birdy?” Michelle’s tone was soft when she set her bag next to the couch.
“That’s the couch,” the younger woman said lamely. That was not what she had been going to say but the words had slipped out anyway. I wanted to tell her that she can take the bed! Blue was horrified that she couldn’t get the words to fall from her tongue.
Luckily, Michelle wasn’t going to comment on what she had said. “You can take the bed, sweetheart,” she said, not thinking about her words. When Blue heard the pet name, she blushed and quickly turned away from the older woman. She didn’t mean it like that. She tried to tell herself that the older woman didn’t want her in such a way, however, what Blue didn’t realize was that Michelle was watching her silently freak out.
Michelle was flustered when she realized what she had called Blue and even though she usually calls her such things while thinking about her, Michelle didn’t think that the pet name would ever verbally reveal itself. That’s embarrassing! She thought but she knew there was nothing she could do. Blue had already heard her and she sure as hell wasn’t going to take it back. That would be rude. “Boss,” Blue called out to the woman.
“Yeah, sweetheart,” Michelle decided to keep up with the pace, knowing she was already screwed, especially when doe-like eyes found her gaze and there was a shy smile gracing Blue’s lips. She didn’t have to say anything for Michelle to get what she was silently saying.
“Alright, we can share the bed,” she easily agreed to the plan, causing Blue to blush at how easily she agreed to it.
