Summary
Romeo's supposedly one-sided love for Mercutio takes an interesting turn after a series of chaotic events at Lord Capulet's party. However, their secret relationship becomes more complicated as disapproving parents and the ongoing feud between families threatens to ruin everything.
Meanwhile, Juliet questions her identity as she starts to develop feelings for Rosaline Montague, and has to battle her own thoughts as parental pressure to marry intensifies.
Both in desperation to settle peace between and within their families, Romeo and Juliet meet and, upon sympathising with the other's situation, decide to marry.
As their loveless marriage begins to cause more problems than solve them, Romeo and Juliet have to decide whether or not to take their lives into their own hands- even if it means defying, and perhaps destroying, their families.
