Katsuki didn’t expect to be fucking dragged out of the front door by Izuku to go to the Halloween Festival with Eri, but he was not happy about it.
“Let go of me, idiot! I’ve still got candy to get in Animal Crossing !” Katsuki yelled, trying to push blackwhip off his arms.
“You can do that later!” Izuku shouted over his shoulder.
Katsuki rolled his eyes. “No, I can’t! It’s a limited-time event!” He protested.
“You sound like a child!”
“I can’t miss it!” Katsuki yelled, sounding even more childish as he continued to argue. Izuku sighed and stopped, turning around. “What?”
“You can bring your switch, but don’t play on it the whole time.” Katsuki immediately ran up the stairs and grabbed his switch, running back down to the door. “You’re a child.” Izuku told him.
“Okay?” Katsuki pushed past the boy and followed the class down the path to the UA gates.
-
Katsuki and Izuku immediately lost the rest of the class in the massive crowds once they got to the park where the festival was held. Izuku started to look for their classmates, but Katsuki pulled him back by his hood. “Don’t fucking go anywhere. I’m not dealing with these crazy people in costumes by myself.”
Izuku rolled his eyes, but stayed by Katsuki’s side as they walked through the park, and found an empty patch of grass to sit down on. “What’s going on here, then?” Katsuki asked.
Izuku shrugged. “Mina said there were costume competitions, music and some other stuff I didn’t catch.”
“ Some other stuff I didn’t catch. ” Katsuki repeated. “Great, Izuku, great.” He rolled his eyes and pulled out his switch, booting up Animal Crossing .
He started playing, trying to get as much candy as possible from his villagers–the amount of stupid exams that past month meant he could only get 8 from Nook’s Cranny.
“So…how does this work?” Izuku asked, looking over Katsuki’s shoulder.
Katsuki sighed. “Do you really want me to explain the ins-and-outs of how Tom Nook has put me into extreme debt, stupid Kid Cat won’t get the fuck off my island, there’s this ugly penguin that won’t fuck off either, I never get a cloudless night to get stupid star fragments, and whenever I look around after stock-piling on Nook Tickets for months, I can’t find my favourite villager?”
Izuku stared at him, and blinked multiple times. “Uh…maybe you could just explain the Halloween part?”
Katsuki looked at Izuku, then nodded. “There’s an NPC called Jack you have to give candy to that you’ve bought at the shop over the course of October–you can only get one a day–and he gives you a hat which looks like a pumpkin, and then asks for lollipops. You have to travel around your island and find villagers to give candy to, and they give you recipes, items or lollipops in return. Villagers that are in their houses give you candy so you can restock.”
Izuku did not look like he was catching on, but he nodded enthusiastically instead. “Okay!” Katsuki rolled his eyes, and went back to collecting candy from the villagers in their houses, giving them to his villagers and throwing his switch on the ground when he kept on getting recipes and stupid items instead of lollipops. “I hate these villagers.”
“Maybe you should stop playing if it makes you mad.” Izuku suggested, and held his hands up to surrender when Katsuki turned to glare at him.
The lights around them turned off, and the spotlight beamed down on the person on stage, which–to Izuku and Katsuki’s surprise–was Mina.
“Hey everyone! We’re gonna get the UA Halloween Festival kicked off in just a second, after we get everyone up for the costume competition!” She yelled.
“...You didn’t tell me this is a fucking official UA festival! ” Katsuki whisper-yelled at Izuku.
“I didn’t know! Mina just told me that it was a special festival for Halloween!” Izuku loudly whispered back. Some people shushed them to the side, and Katsuki gave them the grace of his middle finger before he sank back into Animal Crossing , straight-up ignoring what Mina was saying.
Izuku gasped, and grabbed onto Katsuki’s arm, shaking it. “Kacchan!”
“What? ” Katsuki asked, his teeth gritted–stupid Kid Cat wasn’t giving him a stupid lollipop .
“Eri’s up there!” Katsuki immediately looked up, and spotted Eri, grinning in the spotlight in a witch’s dress and hat. “She looks so cool!” Izuku shouted. The people beside them shushed Izuku again, and Katsuki had to grab his fist before he punched them in the face.
Then, Eri went off the stage, and Katsuki went back to his gaming paradise. “I should’ve just not asked you to come.” Izuku sighed.
“I’d like that.” Katsuki said, grinning once he finally got the last lollipop to Jack. “Thank fuck. ”
Silence filled the air between them, until Izuku asked, “Do you want to go back to the dorms?”
Katsuki froze. Oh, shit. So, he’d just ruined this entire night for Izuku because of how ignorant he was being. “No, if you want to stay then we can–”
“I only wanted to come with you.” Izuku said quickly. “Honestly, I’d rather be at the dorms–it’s kind of cold here, and…I–” He sighed. “I’m really stupid–I was supposed to have this as a date–”
“This was supposed to be a date? ” Katsuki asked. Izuku nodded slowly. “What the fuck did you think would be here, Izuku, a whole ass dinner party?”
“Maybe?” Katsuki rolled his eyes and put his switch away, grabbing Izuku’s arm and hauling him up. “What are you–”
“We’re going back to the dorms for katsudon.” Izuku’s eyes practically sparkled at the idea. “Okay?”
“Can we play Mario Kart after?” Katsuki rolled his eyes, but nodded, and the two walked back to the dorms. Izuku set up the game, and Katsuki started cooking.
-
“So…was this a good Halloween?” Izuku asked, leaning his head on Katsuki’s chest as they sat down on his bed.
“Yeah. Let’s do this next year, Izuku.” Katsuki muttered.
Izuku grinned. “Alright, Kacchan. Alright.” Katsuki pressed his lips against the top of Izuku’s head, and they both fell asleep, soon to be awoken by their crazy classmates coming back from the Halloween Festival.
