Iruma wants attention

Summary:

Even though she's his girlfriend, there are times when he wants some attention from her, even when she's busy

Notes:

I want these two to get together. Very badly. My other obvious manga couples have gotten together, now I just need to wait for Nishi-sensei to make it happen

Work Text:

As he sat in a chair, Iruma kept looking towards the large desk at the center of the room.

There were mountains of paper looking down at him, as the sound of a pen filled the room. And as much as he wanted to do something, the pair of eyes that were so focused on the papers before her, probably meant that she was going to say no.

When school had ended for the day, Iruma managed to get away from Clara and Azz by saying that he had some things to talk about with his grandfather in his office. While the two pressed him for details, he struggled to shake them off. Eventually, he said that it was business related to the 3, making the two back down.

While Iruma was sure that Sullivan would’ve loved it if he had gone to meet him in his office, he had a different rendezvous in mind. Instead, Iruma made his way to the student council’s office, where someone was supposed to be waiting for him.

Instead, he walked in on chaos; people running back and forth as papers flew in the air. Everyone was focused on the papers in front of them, and there was a franticness in their movement.

Wondering if he had walked in at a bad time, Iruma was about to walk away when one of the members called his name.

“Iruma is that you!?” they asked, making stop with one foot out the door. “You don’t have to sign anything, just run papers between us!”

Looking back towards the president of the council, Iruma waited for approval to be given. Even though his experience working with the council was nearly 3 years ago, there were days that he came and helped them with their work. But only if she gave her approval.

“That’s fine,” she said, answering in a hard tone and keeping her head down, though the glimmer in her eyes glancing up at him betrayed her lips. “We need it.”

And so, Iruma ran between officers of the council, picking up and dropping off papers where they needed to go. He didn’t need to look at where he was going, the chairs already in his mind as he rush between everyone, and his eyes constantly drifting towards the president’s desk.

After an hour of hectic work, most of the officers sighed in relief.

“Are you all done?” she said, her stack smaller but not finished.

“We can help you,” Quichelight said, adjusting their hair as they picked themselves up from their desk.

“I’ve got this,” she said, eyes still on her desk. “You’re all dismissed.”

Looking between themselves, the officers turned their gazes to Iruma, standing to the side as he took a sip of water.

“Take care of her for us,” Smoke eventually said, getting up and walking towards the door, the rest of the officers following behind her. The door slammed shut behind them, the last member giving a quick bow before the gap closed.

So that is how Iruma ended up alone in a room, with his precious girlfriend, Ameli.

But that wasn’t enough, as Iruma felt a bit of guilt as he sat there, watching her deal with his actions. He could only glance at the papers, but Iruma had a feeling that he knew where those papers came from.

While Sullivan hadn’t completely figured out what the relationship that Ameri had with his grandson, he was aware the something was there. As thankful as Iruma was that Opera knew to keep their mouth shut, Sullivan was determined to get an answer out of Iruma directly. As such, he didn’t hesitate to resort to tactics like dropping a mountain of work on the student council, and loading most of it onto the president.

After all, if his grandson couldn’t spend time with her, he would say something about it, right? He would only complain about the student council president being busy if he wanted to be with her, right? Otherwise, why didn’t he say anything, hmm?

Trying to ignore the fact that was something he could imagine his grandfather would say, Iruma sat there and thought about what he could do.

“Ameri, you know that you don’t have to,” he started to say, looking over towards her. “It’s fine,” she cut him off, her eyes focused on the papers. “I said that I could do it, and this isn’t as bad as it could be.

That wasn’t enough for Iruma, getting up as he looked around the room. “Maybe I can go and grab the tea set, do you want anything?” he asked.

“No,” Ameri answered, her voice steady.

Iruma frowned at that, walking over towards the desk.

Perhaps he would have to break out a forbidden technique.

Leaning down against the desk, he put his hands on top of it, getting Ameri’s attention as he gave her the biggest puppy eyes she had seen in a while.

“What are you doing?” Ameri asked, finally raising her head as Iruma kept looking at her. “Nothing particular,” he answered, eventually averting eye contact when all he got out of her was a light blush.

While it was rare for him to break out the eyes, Ameri normally stopped whatever she was doing when she saw them and gave him whatever he wanted at the moment. The fact that she resisted meant that she was serious.

Seeing him walk away, Ameri looked back at her papers. Taking the opportunity, Iruma squatted, walking around the desk as he snuck around the desk. If Ameri had looked up, she would’ve noticed his ahoge poking over the edge, but she didn’t notice him until he started to play with the ends of her hair.

“Iruma?” she asked, looking down at him as he sat on the floor, curling her hair around his fingers. “Don’t mind me,” he answered back, still playing with her hair. Frowning a bit, Amire looked back at her papers as she could feel him slowly move his hands up her hair.

Seeing how she thought it was keeping him busy, Iruma slowly started to stand, running her hair through his fingers higher and higher up. Once he had completely stood up, Ali came out of the ring, lifting Iruma up into the air.

Despite the fact that he had gotten taller over the years, Ameri was still a head taller than him, and the chair of the council president made it difficult for him to touch her hair from the back.

Seeing the shadow over her, Ameri looked up at Iruma. “What are you doing?” she asked again as he put a hand to her head. “Just wanting to reward you,” he answered back, making her look back down as a bit of color returned to her cheeks.

Rolling his eye at the interaction, Ali threw Iruma into the air and returned to the ring. Suddenly a few meters above the desk, Iruma panicked as he tried to think of a spell that he could use to land without throwing the papers everywhere.

Not even a moment later, he could feel Ameri’s arms wrap around him, pulling him in as she smoothly landed on the floor. Looking up at her, there was a brief moment of hope in his eyes as she still held him, only for it to be dashed when she put him into the chair that he had been sitting in.

“You should get your ring in check,” she said as she put him down, walking back towards her desk. “I’ll take care of this, so just wait for me.”

Pouting at the rejection, Iruma got low to the ground, sneaking his way back to her desk. Waiting to see if she hadn’t spotted him yet, he got up, putting a hand to hers, giving her a soft peck on the cheek.

Ameri froze at the kiss, but didn’t look back at him, her eyes on the documents as Iruma walked away with slumped shoulders.

“Now,” Ameri said, raising her arms and stretching her shoulders. “Who couldn’t keep their desire in check?”

Iruma said nothing, sulking in the chair as he flipped through Hatsumem, ignoring her as she walked closer.

“Do you think I would be able to do the same?”

Grabbing the manga with one hand, Ameri tilted Iruma’s head with the other. The surprise in his eyes, a soft ‘Ameri’ leaving his lips only makes it worse.

“You don’t get to complain,” she said, her breath getting hot as she leans over him. “You started this.”

Before Iruma could say anything, she claimed his lips, keeping her hand firmly against his chin.
